Slightly off-topic, but I noticed that the Thief’s and Spellblade’s portraits are blurrier than the other characters right now playing on bigger screens. Are their portraits at a lower resolution than the others? I didn’t notice it until I was playing on a better monitor, but its definitely noticeable on higher resolution screens, especially the last few sets of the Thief.

I’ve been kinda gradually fixing this as I go

Gotta go Glutton, I love me some dragons, but the glutton looks cuter(the dragon girl is plenty cute herself though, just not AS cute to me), and I’d like to see her fat more than the dragon girl.

honestly? I gotta go dragon, glutton is good in design and all, but she could be a lancer and be allowed to do long lane attacks with attack resets as a sort of “stun”, dragon looks more like what the stereotypical “knight” looks like

I’m tempted to go Dragon girl. While I’m not personally into dragon girls (and very much into the Glutton design), I already got what I want in the game in the form of the Thief and Witch, so might as well add a little diversity to the lineup, right?

Honestly hope it’s not the glutton, out of the 5 original knight designs she is by far the least inspired and most boring . That and it would be nice to see somebody besides that bulbasaur guy win a design. Honestly though for people who submit designs this feels really scummy. 50 $ for a commisions with a random chance to get a 200 pic sequence of the character? Doesn’t really seem fair.

I believe that you’re looking at the $50 Patreon Tier all wrong, it isn’t some scummy money grab with a false promise - it exists for people who want to support ETD’s development to that degree.

There is nothing said by Bewildered Angel that guarantees that any design gets in. Due to the nature of the Polls there is a chance that designs won’t get in, but it’s not random chance - it’s down to the game’s supporters.

I can take having criticisms levelled at my designs, but calling out BA’s Patreon like this is completely unwarranted.

I’ve already beaten the game, though. I’ve attained S on every level and my characters all require 1500 weight for each stat increase, besides The Witch, who needs 2100.

If anybody is interested in how I arrived at $50 price tag for the character design tier, it’s largely based on the fact that it takes me about two hours to produce a design. (On stream it only takes 1 hour, because can talk to the patron directly so edits are much faster, and I’ve done research and planning ahead of time)

I price most of my work at about $12 an hour, so 2x12=24. Then I double it, since we also have to support the actual development of ETD. So half goes to ETD, and half goes to the design. Then Patreon’s fees amount to 5%-10% depending on how fun and sassy they’re feeling that month. So 2x12x2x1.05=50.4 and 2x12x2x1.1=52.8. And then I round it down to an even 50 just to make it easier.

I know the $50 tier is not an attractive option to everyone! But please believe me that its price is set at 50 for good reason. It is not my desire to rip anybody off

Thank you for the offer, but I don’t really have any desire to add a log in system. If you want to save you’re going to have to play outside of incognito mode

I’m assuming you okay on incognito mode to avoid having eat the dungeon in your browser history. If that’s the cases you’re in luck. The game will only reset if you delete the cookies or site data. If you’re playing on chrome, you can delete browser history separate from cookies and site data, so you can remove Eat the Dungeon from your browser history while keeping your progress.

Even without a login system, many browser games offer the ability to download the save file, which would also work for this use case. I do see that you save multiple variables to the Local Storage, but it might be comparatively simple to save to a JSON object, and allow saving and loading that from disk. Not something you have to do, but just thought I’d mention it as a compromise solution.
