Aw man. This is really disappointing, if I’m honest. I guess non-human characters are just never going to happen.
Don’t worry, there are plenty of other classes still left to add so it is still possible.
One of the Druid designs is a dragongirl, and from what I remember seeing her, I liked her design significantly more the the one we’ve seen the past two polls.
Don’t worry, their time will come.
Another day, another human. I will say it was a whole lot closer than I thought it would be. Just one vote difference!
True, but it seems like people are going to pull towards designs that are somewhat samey with the existing cast, which, to me, feels like a waste of the opportunity, considering the polls could instead offer more variety in the characters.
I hope so, but I’m not so sure…
I think the primary reason the dragon girl didn’t win is more about her outfit than her species. She’s more of a monster girl than a furry, so she’s not entirely niche in that sense; it’s just that her dress is kind of…well, ugly. Bright yellow is super jarring compared to her natural skin (scale?) color, and its shape doesn’t really work in tandem with heavy WG, since it sorta balloons away from its wearer. Compare this to Witch’s outfit, which is super tight and form-fitting, causing it to burst once she gets big enough.
I’m just on Chrome, I remember this happening when the Spellblade dropped. Haven’t exactly played after that for lack of time and motivation, but I assumed this was still the case.
I agree, the outfit and to a lesser extent, the weapon of the dragongirl was always the thing that bothered me about her design, at least this time around. I know the characters don’t follow a strict protocol on what they wear in regards to their class, but personally speaking, dissonance between class and outfit is a pretty big mark on appeal for me personally.
If the dragongirl’s class was something like Warrior princess, or noblewoman I’d probably be more open to the dress design.
Knights in particular are very iconic and everyone’s idea of what one looks like is pretty well established, and in turn, wouldn’t be surprised if it held her back ever so slightly. Things like a spellblade are a bit more open to interpretation on outfits as they vary pretty wildly from media to media, that again, I personally think lends itself better to unconventional designs.
Just my two cents though, obviously a lot of other people feel differently about that as evidenced by how close the poll was.
To all of you disappointed that Dragon Girl didn’t win, it was a close match. Considering Glutton won by one vote, I’ll appreciate the fact the poll was so down to the wire at the end.
Personally, changed my vote because I don’t think the dress would work, either as a Knight or in terms of weight gain. If it was changed to more standard armour, I reckon she’d be perfect for the class.
Hell, I reckon she could still work as a barbarian if it was changed to resemble Xena’s garb or something, the sword’s still big enough and she can pull off the Barbarian princess look quite well.
As for people concerned about only Humans getting in, don’t be. Literally every other class has at least one non-Human among their current lineup, to say nothing of what Patrons will put forward in the future.
Just from the de
Barbarian; Rashasa
Ranger; Kitsune and Troll (Not pictures; Phantom and Bunny)
Illusionist; Fairy. More to come, I have confirmation of that.
Monk; A shape-shifter who slowly turns into a Dragon.
Alchemist; An android and a Goblin.
Druid; Neither of those silhouettes are Human, they were both drawn on stream.
Engineer; Dwarf.
And again, there will be more non-Humans submitted in the future, these people have quite a few ideas.
I mean… I would still say it’s a valid concern for every class besides Druid. Just because a nonhuman exists doesn’t mean she’ll get votes, clearly.
True, but there’s no guarantee a Human would get votes either when faced with the competition. The Bard had exclusively Human options and evidently people preferred the idea of a nervous, studious girl with a magic sword for the Spellblade. Which makes sense, besides the shape of the sword I couldn’t personally imagine much in the way of magic for the Dragon. Besides, the Kobold was third in the initial poll, but there was a 38 vote difference between her and second place. Those two just happened to be the most appealing in general, this time around.
As for this class not getting a Monster in, the Kobold’s great but doesn’t fit the image and while the Dragon’s fantastic, the dress doesn’t seem like it’d work especially well with showing off her belly as she fattens up. Comparatively, no other design, Human or otherwise, has that problem, the closest being the Fairy, who has a skirt rather than a dress. Also, a Knight from an order of Gluttons is incredibly fitting for the setting, so that probably had something to do with her success.
Fair enough. I’ll just keep my fingers crossed for the future, then.
Indeed, cute fatness is slightly more appealing than badass fatness.
But DAYUM, was it CLOSE! XD
I hope we get a fairy character eventually, regardless of class.
I’d reckon about half of the upcoming designs are for non-humans, so we’re bound to get one sooner or later!
I’ll have to keep investigating this…
I think its worth considering that the dragongirl was in second place by a very slim margin in all three of the polls she participated in. If circumstances were even slightly different she would have won. So I think anything can still happen in any of the remaining lineups.
That’s fair. I apologize for getting a little upset; I just love the game’s artstyle and I wanna see it flexed with a wide variety of characters! I’ll hold out hope for the future, but for now I’ll prepare to welcome the Glutton with open arms.
im wandering what to the different stats do when it comes to leveling up a character
Well the first one, Power, increases the amount of damage done by the character in combat. Of all the stats (in my opinion) this isn’t too needed to be upgraded as often since the characters not only deal double damage to their favorite food type but will also get a boost in power as they fatten up. This also applies to the boost, heal, and shield ability but their purpose is to help the characters by buffing/ healing them.
The Speed stat is the reduction of the effect of weight on the character, as they gain more weight it becomes harder for them to quickly get back into the fight unless someone heals them, but if the healer is also very fat then the problem is still the same. By upgrading this you can have get back into the fray faster and stay active even when they are immobile. (Note that there is no limit on the stat, even at 100% reduction the weight will still have an effect so increasing further slightly will help)
The Metabolism is how fast the character digests the enemy, by increasing it can help them digest it faster should the “meal” be very large. This is important as longer levels will leave a bit of food left in the stomach, which increases the possibility of being unconscious if you go over your Capacity, so having it digest quickly helps with the issue.
The Capacity stat is how much your stomach can hold at one time, helping the character to hold more food or be able to deal more damage without being knockout by the attack. While the character has a chance of not being rendered unconscious should they go over their capacity if they go beyond the max, as long they are in that range any attack they do may result in unconsciousness.
If you ask me the Speed should be the main focus to upgrade, while spending the weight on metabolism and capacity will help your characters stay in the fight longer than normal. Power isn’t to much of a worry but make sure you can at least double the enemies you have access to (or be able to defeat them in one to two attacks).
is there a level 7 and how do it get to it if there is
I tried restarting the browser and now i cant move forward from the tutorial after beating it
