Eat The Dungeon General Discussion

Oh no… the monster have discovered siege technology!
Edit: Oh my god… the fleeing vegetable monster is a bit nightmare fuel.

Hey, so I accidentally deleted the weight stat for the Witch on my Chromebook… (Bewildered, it’s @PPrinplup2 on Twitter)

Actually there is a way to fix it yourself, go to the developer tools and find the variables of the game. Using the filter, set it for weight (just to see how it looks on the others) and scroll to the bottom of the variable list and right click the empty box. Then click the “add new” and type out the witch’s weight and give it a value (probably best to set it at zero), click enter and refresh the page.

Should look like Witch_weight | 0

Hopefully that fixes it, if not then there maybe something else wrong.

One question I have about the fattening trebuchets, what is their targeting logic? Do they go for the person with the fullest or smallest stomach? I just want to know since they’re tons of fun to play around with but I’d like to know if they had any patterns I could mess with

So I’m not sure what to do, but the new update won’t load on Firefox, after the title loads it goes to a extract screen but only the box for warrior show and nothing else happens, If I try and load it in a private window it loads up the tutorial and only the warriors box shows

Not sure on how to fix this? last time this happened I lost all of my progress and had to restart

Lol I have been AFK from WG for a while now because last I was on nothing was happening. Now All sorts of stuff has been exploding in my message box! I am VERY HAPPY that Clockwork won as I would have voted for her had I been present. She is awesome to me! lol! Great work ETD Team!

It should be targeting the person with the highest fullness

If the tab is loading, then its just taking a long time to load all the assets. In the patch notes post I address this, I am currently brainstorming methods to reduce file size

If the tab is done loading and its still not working, open your browser’s developer tools (in most browsers this is done with the shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+I). Go to the console and see if there are any errors.

Still working on the grind, but I’m slowly making progress. I noticed another user getting their characters to 1000000 weight so I figured I would give it a try myself. Though the grind ir boring and there’s no real reward for doing so, I am not heavily discouraged from doing so. If anything the hassle makes the accomplishment worth it just for accomplishing the goal, also no I will not be doing a 10000000 weight challenge, that is too much of a pain to do even with modding (which aside from using it on different characters to get the absurdly high upgrades on the priestess I have not used for this challenge; all the weight gain has been in the vanilla/stock version of this game)

I think a download version might be ideal in the future

The times for the Beefcake Dragon bonus round seem a little too harsh. My best runs with maxed-out characters are barely getting an A on a good run. Again, the problem is that there are too many enemies with only sword-type health, which means a minimum of ~.3 seconds each, .5 if you want to be fair. At .5 seconds per sword-only enemy and another second for all rooms with another enemy type, the minimum ‘fair’ S-rank time would 10 seconds, which is better than my best time, but is at least theoretically human reachable.

I think the more fair S-rank time would be 12 seconds, cuz I can barely get to around 10 seconds normally. This might change once we get an AOE sword damage user, but until then that time is a bit too tight for anyone without using any sort of tool assist.

I can’t replicated this in Firefox on my own machine. What OS are you using, and what’s your firefox version?

Yeah the new algorithm was not kind to that level lol

Windows 10, and the latest firefox version as of 3 days ago

You’re algorithm needs a minimum value for each sword-only enemy, as they are the only ones not vulnerable to an AoE character. Not sure how your algorithm works or I’d suggest a way to implement that.

This is weird since this is the exact same environment I’m running on. NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE implies that the page stopped loading before all the sprites had transferred. I wonder if it will resolve if you keep trying to load the page, and eventually firefox will have all sprites cached? It’s just a guess though

I’ve got ways to account for each damage type separately. I’ll look into it

Eat the Dungeon Update v0.7.4!

New weight levels for the Illusionist!

I’m still working on optimizing load times, I think this is something I’d like to prioritize for next week.
