FATACLYSM - A Multiversal Weight Gain Roguelite [11/1/24 NEW UPDATE!] [v0.1.3 - A Little Bit of Everything]

Just to clarify, the gourmands gift item has a chance of staying with your party at the end of a run. What exactly are these odds? And whats the point of the eidolic infection if you get it during the palace levels or later in the run just for it to reset a couple of encounters later from either losing or finishing the run?

Really looking forward to what you’re going to do with this game, it has a ton of potential and I’ve been having a blast with the free version so far. Personally I think 10$ a month minimum is a bit steep but seeing how many people have pledged already it looks like people think differently . Maybe I’ll pledge later when there’s more content.

The UI design is pretty good, although there is a LOT of clicking to skip turns when a bunch of characters are overweight, could use some work.

Also enemy gunner on ā€œchubbyā€ is dream GF bod

From my experience, I’ve gotten it once and I lost it after I lost the run I had the infliction in

The chance of the Gourmand sticking around the very first time you get her is 100%, but after that it’s 33%. Eidolic Infection’s mechanics are built around the fact that a third layer is going to be following the Palace soon enough, but obviously as of now its impact is a bit lower. That’s the main reason I made it possible for the Gourmand to give it to you at the start of a run, though - so that it was actually possible to experience all of its effects instead of having it go away immediately.

I’m probably gonna have some kind of ā€œchallenge modeā€ or ā€œrun modifierā€ mechanic in the future that lets you automatically start with that kind of stuff, so there wouldn’t be any more random chance regarding whether or not you get the Gourmand’s Gift. As is, though, it’s just meant to be a bit of a fun mechanic.

Gave it a go, definitely enjoy what I’m seeing, although random encounters may be a mixed back (sometimes just 1 enemy, sometimes I have to go through 5/5 encounters) but other than that, I am really enjoying this game. Keep up the good work dev!

Is there a way to force an event?

I have two different save files. File #1 I just upgraded from the free version by overwriting it after I got Patreon access. File #2 is a fresh one that I downloaded only after I got Patreon access.

In File #1, I got the Gourmand event but not Rowan’s Coliseum event. In File #2, I got Rowan’s coliseum event but not the Gourmand’s.

Not currently. The only way to find them is through exploring.

Actually a good game , keep up a good work

That’s a great idea, maybe it could also be possible to use a continuous/survival/endless mode, not sure if it already has as I don’t have Patreon version yet, but that could be a nice addition cycling to all enemies(that you already met) till you lose.

how do you get more cores of excess? I only got 2, and I don’t remember how i got them lol

You can get more by doing very gluttonous acts for the first time or by taking out the layer bosses

I know there’s a plan for more party members being added, but since you can farm excess cores from boss fights, maybe have it that you can use excess cores to permanently upgrade ability skills, that way you can keep the up-curve of difficulty of the game as you play you will get stronger that’s not just temporary.

This is just my idea to help deal with extra excess cores the player might end up having

Having permanent ability upgrades would be cool, would help add some replay value since becoming OP is pretty fun in these types of endless crawlers.

Could I ask how many weight stages exist f9r the party in the free patreon release build?

Six out of the eight weight stages for each party member are currently available in the public build

I don’t think I would want permanent ability upgrades in this game with the current power scaling. Unless I am playing bad or get sloppy with Estelle, I can beat a round of hard mode with all my characters at max upgrades. I think possibly using excess cores to be able to be turned into an upgrade point or two at the beginning of a run might have better balance and still give a use for those extra cores.

I’m planning on adding more uses for the meta currencies along with some kind of ā€œmoney sinkā€ for them in the future, but it’s not super high priority right now.

Just wanted to let everyone know a couple of things - First of all, the first enemy poll over on Patreon is gonna be closing in about 12 hours, so make sure to cast your vote over there if you want your favorite to win.

Secondly, I’ve just added a feature to all current builds that adds in a setting to enable a ā€œReduced UI.ā€ This setting should allow mobile users to have a much better play experience, since there will be much more visual clarity on the sidebars. There are still some known issues with buttons being unresponsive and hovering not working, but those are still a work in progress.

If you have any issues with the reduced UI, be sure to let me know and I’ll do my best to address them! Also, a quick update on the status of the Discord server I mentioned in the original post - it should be going live by the time the next update is out.
