Fatocracy 2 HIP - mod for Crusader Kings 2

Fatocracy 2.0 (HIP) for Crusader Kings 2
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
CREDITS
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
I am not Fatocracy’s original creator. Fatocracy 2.0 is built on the foundation of the original Fatocracy 0.9. Credit and thanks to the original contributors whose work made this possible: Deator, seigneurseiglenoir, MightHalberd, Wigglesworth, and MasterOfLilies.
But chiefly thanks to failmuseum, whom this mod would not exist without. See here for the original post: Fatocracy - A Crusader Kings 2 (Base game now free to play) weight gain expansion mod

SCALE OF CHANGES
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

59 files from 0.9 have been edited, merged, or replaced, fixing bugs and filling in missing localisation throughout. The mod has grown from 78 files to 266. 50+ new GFX assets have been added. Localisation has expanded from ~750 entries to over 2800.

After 18 months spent buried in event files, localisation spreadsheets, and religion doctrine logic, I’m releasing Fatocracy 2.0 — a full overhaul and expansion of the original Fatocracy 0.9, rebuilt on the Cruader Kings 2 HIP mod available via Steam Workshop. This started as a bugfix project and turned into something considerably larger. I hope you enjoy it.

Note: HIP is now required.

WEIGHING & WEIGHT SYSTEM OVERHAUL
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

The physique system has been rebuilt from the ground up. It now scales to 300 physique_variable, with every value converting to a real kilogram display using the formula:

Weight (kg) = 52 + (0.8 × physique_variable)

The thresholds at which the Fat and Immobile traits are gained have been reassigned to better fit the new scale. A new Mortality trait triggers at 300+ physique, representing life-threatening obesity.

The weighing event itself has been fully overhauled. Each weight stage now shows your character’s precise weight in kg, an immersive long-form description of their form, and a first-person mirror reflection showing a female character’s rough appearance at that weight. 44 descriptions were written from scratch — one for each weight stage across Positive, Neutral, and Negative attitudes.

―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
SPOUSE & LOVER SYSTEMS
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

Two new covert systems have been added. Secretly Fatten allows you to covertly work to increase a target’s weight — with a chance of being caught. Observe Weight lets you check on a character’s current weight and read a physical description of their form.

―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
RELIGIONS & REFORM DOCTRINES
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

0.9 had Fatocratic Catholic and Orthodox heresies for your religion. Version 2 adds a Muslim heresy (Al-Shraht), a Norse Fatocratic faith (Fulla), and a Hellenic pagan faith (Adephagia). More importantly, three new Pagan Reform Religion Doctrines mean you can now make ANY pagan religion Fatocratic through the religion reform system. These 3 are:

• Aggressive Feeders — Adds 3 new Casus Belli, including a kingdom-level Invasion CB where you claim every occupied barony at the cost of triggering new kingdom-level holy wars against you. Also unlocks the Fatten All Prisoners decision.

• Sacred Gluttony — 3 new decisions, opinion changes, and adjusted AI behaviour for Fatocratic characters.

• Enatic Corpulence — Female-focused and static buffs for Fatocratic realms.

Pagan Fatocratic rulers can also dedicate temples in exchange for buffs.

―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
SOCIETY OVERHAUL
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

In 0.9, Fatocratic secret religious societies couldn’t use society powers. That’s fixed. There is also a new Fatocratic Society with custom mechanics, a custom UI, 6 missions, and a full power progression:

• Teach Fatocratic Vices to characters at court
• Induct others into the society
• Host Realm Feasts and Society Feasts — high chances for all attendees to acquire hedonistic and Fatocratic traits, with the player notified when a trait is gained
• New Plot: poison a target with a Temporary Obesity Potion
• Customised Prepare Grounds decision to secretly convert provinces

―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
OTHER NEW SYSTEMS
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

• HIP Compatibility — the mod now requires HIP and is built around it
• 5 unique Artifacts, acquired through expedition event chains. Each grants access to unique decisions, retinues and/or buffs
• Weight Gain Denial — a new event chain for the player exploring psychological denial of weight gain
• Court Feedee minor title — scripted to ensure the holder gains weight over time
• Custom death text for characters who die due to their weight above 200kg and 300kg
• New Ambitions for Fatocratic characters
• Nicknames

―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
QUALITY OF LIFE
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

• Nearly all missing localisation from 0.9 has been filled in
• All Fatocracy targeted decisions now display with yellow text in menus for easy identification
• Dozens of code typos (modfier → modifier) fixed across 60+ event files
• Auto-clothe self QoL decision.

―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
KNOWN BUGS
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
• Religion Sprites for 3 religions are slightly off in the Character Customiser screen.

There seems to be an event “EVTDESC_joy” that fires randomly en masse (10+ popups) every few months that causes every character in the world to become Gluttonous and Drunkard.

Lets fucking gooooooo! This is awesome work. Big news for the CK2 enjoyers in the year 2026 (CK3 still feels unfinished)

You’ll have to forgive me, but where is the HIP mod you used located? I was able to find it here, on the Paradox Forum, but you mention the version on the Steam workshop, which I was not able to find.

Edit: Nevermind, I just needed to delete everything in my mods folder. I look forward to seeing what happens with your mod!

Did you find it on Steam? I cant seem to find it at all on my side, but im mod incompetent lol

yay. I can’t wait to play through a proper mod.

No. I googled it, went to the first reddit thread asking about where to find HIP which sent me to the Paradox Forum. Steam appears to have a collection of mods expanding on HIP but not HIP itself

Oh thats weird, I tried getting the stuff to work myself but even with just HIP and the mod I couldn’t get it to work.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of bugginess with events relating to stress, causing every person in the world to become a drunkard. Aside from that (and a few related events that might be missing localisations) and an apparent dead-end in the fatocracy secret society (the mission to acquire more fatocratic traits never seems to be resolved, not sure if any other missions are functional), it’s been fun.

Hopefully those aren’t too difficult to fix.

I’ve found the event in question. Its RR.100 in ‘TVC_doctrine_events_sacred_gluttony.txt’. I’ve been running the game with it disabled for the last couple of hours and nothing seems to have broken.

I don’t know enough about CK2 modding to say why it spams like it does.

commenting it out unfortunately seems to lead to another event spamming in its stead, so I suspect there’s an underlying problem of events not having triggers properly set up

e: TVC_doctrine_decisions having ai_check_interval as 1 actually means it checks every month, so that’s one easy fix, but it’s not enough on its own.
