any links to translated version? 
the language pack on my pc won’t work with it
Ideally, there would be a choice at the beginning of the game… but that becomes quite a lot of annoying work afterwards so… we get what we get!

Really am hoping that @Kitsune @Shimerror or @ShoeSnail do get to this again one day so we can have that nice fem protag version again
Personally I prefer a male MC, but yeah, I totally get where you’re coming from.
Like @Karase said, a choice at the beginning would be best, but we gotta take what we can get.

is there a translation patch for version 5.0 yet? I tried reading the posts in the thread but I just got confused 
not yet, please give them more time, you don’t want to get really buggy moded game, right?
On that note, I’d very much appreciate hearing some sort of update from the usual modders, even if it’s that you’re not in a position to do any work on this any time soon or no longer have any intention to at all. We need to know either way so in the worst case we can start formulating an alternative plan of action.

I can re add the female MC and possibly most of kitsune’s additions but I’m waiting on a proper translation. I’m not great at Japanese so I can’t help with that.
I hope @Shimerror and @Kitsune are still around. Even if they don’t have time to do the translation. It will be a huge help if they still have the translator++ project files. It would save a lot of time redoing the already translated lines.

when i load the game its just a black screen, ive had this issue for an hour don’t know what to do tho
Which version are you running? Are you getting an error? Can you get to the main menu, or even in game?
Modded 4.0 should run fine, if that isn’t working then something probably isn’t working right on your end.
I personally haven’t ran 5.0 but the fact that it is in Japanese. RPGM is making request for files in Japanese but when the files were unzipped they were not encoded in Japanese and make the text into gibberish. Go to the link in post #278 for a link to the program that fixes this. That link also has way to machine translate the game.
There also might be a bug that was introduced in 5.0, someone would have to take a closer look to confirm/deny that.

ok so i downloaded an older version just to compare the differences in the 4.0 but suddenly an error occured about some dojo girl playing hide and seek or something where after it ended an error message occurs and both versions stopped working. Other rpg games are fine but this specific game doesnt work, its just a black screen that doesn’t show anything not even an error message. Don’t know what the real issue is
I remember one of the older versions had that issue, I think it was just a mistake in the programming, try the link at post #405, it works fine for me and it has all cheats unlocked.
While im at it sjisunzip is refusing to work with FF 5.0, is anyone else having this issue or is it just me?
I don’t use sjsunzip. 7zip works fine if you set your system locale to Japan.
If you have 7zip installed and don’t wanna change your locale there is another way. It’s the way I usually extract Japanese rpgm zips.
Open the folder you downloaded ff5 to. Then left click an empty part of the window so that no files are selected. Then hold shift and right click, again in an empty part of the window. If you did it right you’ll see an option powershell window here.
If it doesn’t work for you. You can also open powershell normally and cd to the folder. If you know how to do that.
Type in . "C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe" -mcp=932 x "FF Ver5.0.zip"
Don’t forget the period at the beginning or the quotes
The first part might be different if you installed 7zip to a different folder. You’ll have to find where 7z.exe is and use that path instead.
This tells 7zip that it’s a Japanese zip so it knows how to extract the file names
The same thing works for any Japanese zip .All you do is replace the last part with the name of your zip file.
The same command works in command prompt. Just get rid of the period at the start.

Yep, just replace mcp=932 with the appropriate code number

Hey umm I know there’s this cheatcode function you could enter before you start the game, but does anyone know it for the 5.0 version?
It would be easier to just use https://www.saveeditonline.com/. Go in save the game once and then going into to your games file and within the “www” folder there should be a folder now marked as “save” just take your save file and drop it into the site’s upload file section. There you can edit to give the file to have money or whatever you might need.
