I honestly like the AI art, its your project and if it keeps the devolpment of the game chugging forward I’d recommend continuing to us it. Only thing is recommend is going over finished pieces with photoshop and correcting obvious problems. Other than that great job and im looking forward to the next update.

Like the new content so far. Really like Iroha stuff and the dnd-like game night was fun. Need to play around with Kaede stuff more to but I have enjoyed that as well.
On the topic of the art. I don’t mind the change if you feel like it helps with work flow. That said I hope that you continue to use the previous models to guide the ai to help with consistency where able. I don’t mind the AI jank to much, the old models also had jank and I expect that at some point it was going to be cleaned up either way.
I do think the AI version helped with some of the facial expressions in certain circumstances and the sweat and panting effects are a nice touch. This is obviously balanced against some of the consistency issues but it is not like the old one was perfect. I will agree that the scenes that have multiple fames with the characters in relatively the same place are particularly jarring but I can just going to hope that will be fixed later.
TL:DR/ Liked the update and I think the art change was fine. It has it’s positives and negatives. Good work and don’t stress on the time to much. Most will understand delays if communicated.

The rpg is broken. Sometimes the enemy health stays on-screen forever, and I am no longer able to Back or Load Save, without it teleporting me to the rpg game
Not being able to rollback or a save loading you into the gamenight rpg seems to happen if you have died during one of the game session nights. Generally finishing a night out without dying will reverse this at least in my experience. (Not a fix but a way to work around it currently.)
It actually looks much more consistent than most ai art I’ve seen. I wonder, is that because you’re using img2img instead of txt2img? Or some other trick? (Someone who is capable of generating art to begin with I’ve found has a real leg up on using AI tools compared to someone who is at the mercy of the AI entirely.)

On the subject of ai art, inpainting specifically, 100% in a couple years, photoshop is going to have a new paint tool that just straight does an ai inpaint inside the paintbrush, and everyone is gonna love it. Everything else ai art does? I find pretty meh.
edit: Oh also, does this version 0.3.0 have more “routes” than 0.2.0? As I know 0.2.0 added more routes than 0.1.0 had. Or does 0.3.0 still have the same basic route choices? Where you can get fat/notfat choices for erika and rin and nene which according to my notes meant seeing every variation would take 6 runs? I can’t ask about it on patreon because I was a dec/jan patron who got the update via the email.

I’m trying to go on the skinny/feeder path, I’ve also decided to make Iroha fat
However eventually it gets into an inifinite loop where akane is at her house
Even after skipping for 5 minutes nothing seem to change apart for it replaying that scene over and over again
A list of some issues I will probably get around to including a file with the errors when I finish the different routes but for now.

There are a ton of typos that mostly consist of missing periods at the end of sentences or uncapitalized words at the start of a sentence.

There are alot of image issues, wrong hair colors, clothes changing colors between renders in a scene, extra appendages, extra nipples, extra belly buttons, faces being distorted, eyes missing irises, rolls and folds lines being excessive (incorrect placement, ending oddly, etc), clothing issues, character models blending into each other or fusing, missing elements of a model (ie: black voids, or holes around certain elements such as ears, hair, etc.), characters having way too large breasts, stomachs, etc between renders, general size issues and discrepancies between renders in an event, character faces changing consistency/form between renders.

The game night rpg breaks saves and disables roll back. You can lose most of a routes progress on a reload of a save that is multiple stages ahead of the point the rpg loads into.

The “clothing store home” event “stage4gain” incorrectly plays the stage five images for the first five renders. “Clothingstorehomestage04gain06” is the first render that is correct for the stage.

Thanks for this feedback. I’m not sure what’s going on with the rpg right now. I think I’ve misplaced an init python block and that’s the cause. Honestly, I’m not sure what it even does.
Also, I think you’ll be happy to know that next update I’ll be releasing original 3d models alongside the inpainted models. I definitely jumped the gun on the art change without seeing if everyone was chill with that. I’m the type of person to grab onto something new as soon as see it and I think that’s what happened here.
However I still want to experiment with the new technology, but it’s important to consider a lot of people appreciate the 3D models (probably more than I do) and are hoping to see further development there as well.
Further, just incase people missed it. The next update will focus on Akanes gainer path. I’m hoping to get two complete stages of Akanes gain route in the next one with a few shakeups to the gameplay loop.
I’m taking ideas for situations to portray if anyone has ideas.
Also, did anyone enjoy the scenes where Erika stops you going from the gym? They were a pretty late addition but thought they were pretty neato.
I really enjoyed the new scenes added they gave me that much more to look around for without just no brain clicking until the next new event to role around I think the random events and new shrine/model content came out great.
On that note releasing both the ai and the models themselves I think is a great idea since some will prefer the ai art your generating and improving while others like myself like the good old 3d models.
I would love for you to get to a place where the AI art could have the consistency and emphasis of weight gain and loss that the original models do. The new renders have too much variation of the look of weight and size even within the same weight stage for me. I think the weight readability is greatly de-emphasized to the player. And in a weight gain visual novel the clear portrayal of weight gain and visuals in general are very important.
I am not against the new art being used as I think it can look quite great at times especially with faces as there is a lot more detail (and a certain style) being portrayed that it does better then the old renders. But I think most other things, it’s not as strong in visually as the old renders, especially with all the errors that can happen with AI filtered art.
However for me, it was something that I didn’t sign up for and never asked for. I totally get why it was done (and I can get behind the idea of it helping expedite development) but as a supporter, I was funding something that suddenly changed visually very drastically without any prior knowledge and that feels bad. And that change mixed with the variance in quality and consistency with the new renders has kind of soured the update for me.
I like the new content and think there are improvements here that are steps in the right direction. But as some others have indicated the art style change should of been something that was addressed to supporters and at least put to a poll to see how supporters felt or what they wanted before it was done. At the end of the day it’s your game and you can do whatever you want but decisions like that can really nuke the confidence, goodwill, and support people give to a dev and their game.
I worry that developing two versions will drastically increase your development time but I wish you luck all the same. Hopefully you find a way to make it work. Thanks for your response.

I agree. I had a sinking feeling when I realized that it wasn’t going to be “Oh, images look different” and move on affair. I definitely don’t want it to be the hill this game dies on. It won’t be.
But I just want to alleviate any concerns that releasing more than one version at a time is going to be a huge task. The images already exist in rendered form as they always have. I’d just make two sets of folders and be done with it.
Better these awkward things happen while it’s still a 0.3.0 and not a 1.0.0.
I do have other ideas for games I’d love to try in the future too that better use the 3D aspect and all the stuff I’ve learned. So I’d rather not burn bridges.
I have a few suggestions myself i’ll put a spoiler block on it in case you do plan on putting them into the game

make an seperate AI art and 3d art version: this is just to keeps the file size down to a more manageable sizes since i do recall 0.2 file size been really big!

Stage 7 or 8 major choice?: have stage 7 or 8 start with her starting to really feel immobility getting closer, which you have a choice of staying with Erika or living with Yui/Iroha/Kaede?

Tsumugi: Perhaps have Tsumugi become more involved in the later stages to not only help the girls due to there sizes but feed them wonderful milk!
Kaede, the shrine & K: This i think would be a good way to branch out to a magic route later on if people wanted it, id Akane chooses to live with Kaede, K uses her powers to make Kaede slowly be able to easily take care of Akane while her body gets fatter much faster and becoming sort of an attraction for the shrine? or have Kaede reaches out to Tsumugi to help keep the shrine in good working order they both she and Akane get fatter from donations with the help of K powers Tsumugi’s Milk.
Iroha (Hope i spelt it right): Thin route is just her making a weight gain vlog for Akane or boths Journey into getting bigger.
Thin Rin: becomes more involved with the story to help Akane since she is starting to lose her mobility by stage 7 and make her fatter no matter the choice
Uni at WG 6 & 7: I think this would be a really good point of no return, give Akane a choice here that makes her either drop out of keep trying and eventually been expelled due to low grades, and have Yuka, Mei & Lisa perhaps maybe leaving with her depending on how big they are or other reasons
Thin Erika: Would be nice if she started to get worried for Akane despite all the teasing since this way farther than she expected and wants a more serious talk for a change and perhaps an actual reason why she wanted Akane fat originally
Some very good ideas here. I do want to shake up the gameplay loop going forward. The feeder route should feel different to the feedee route.
Also you and I had the same idea with university. Something’s gotta give there.
There are new routes added for Iroha (fat/fat, fat/skinny, skinny/fat), routes added for Kaede (fat/skinny, fat/fat, skinny/fat, skinny/skinny, all routes has BE for Kaede) and a new stage added for the yuka/mai swap route.
Tsumugi also has a new storyline added and the files mention additional transformation content being available in an event during game night but I’m not sure how to trigger it as I found the system a bit unfinished either way
I like the AI generated models (their facial expressions appear to be more appropriate than the earlier version). I’ve posted a list of nitpicks I noticed on my first playthrough on your patron (a lot of word mispells and leftouts). I enjoyed the few new clothing lady’s scenes and the shrine ones as well. I support the AI generated ones especially if they help speed your development time.
Also a minor nitpick but for future updates you should think about using another image file format, as more content is added as is the file size bloat, currently it’s mostly from the images.
