Thanks for the support! Still needs some tweaks, but overall I’m pretty happy with Forks Phone 2.0. There are plenty of other UI improvements in the works as well!

I love the artistic style of the game and the characters are very charismatic. you are the best!! \(^▽^)/ I look forward to the next update. It’s a shame that I can’t support you monetarily, sorry 。゚・ (>﹏<) ・゚。

I can’t wait for more of this. I really love what’s been put into it so far and I can’t wait for more.

I just have to say, this demo was fantastic. I really resonated with the very well written dialogue and at not one moment was I bored with the story!
You have all done an incredible job, I am looking forward to more updates, however long that might take!
Good luck to you all!

You can verify that a game is of quality when there are always people commenting positively or constructively. and this is a high quality game

Does aria itself have a thread yet? I’m interested in updates for that too (although I don’t plan to support the patreon until there’s some rewards on the patreon, like voting or demobuilds). Speaking of news… does uh team spoon have a twitter?

Aria doesn’t have a first demo developed yet and isn’t mainly weightgain focused, I guess they might make a thread in the future but don’t think it would be greatly appreciated unless they had expanded any WG routes enough yet.

That is indeed true. It already is a game of quality

How does your writing process typically go for what you decide to do at any given time? What I mean is, do you focus only on a single girl for a single session so you stay focused on them or do you go between each girl to keep things different or is it something else? I’m legit curious.

Hey, everyone! Hope you’re all doing well :relaxed: Been a while since I’ve posted an update, my job that makes Forks/Aria possible keeps me too busy to actually work on them as I want to . I’m a silly guy who got a job in oil & gas; I know it’s not really a sustainable industry, and my job’s not long for the world whenever my ancient boss kicks it. I need a backup, and when I told my wife that it might be kink games and she said “Ok”, that’s true love

Always here though! I can be a little quiet unless there’s good progress to talk about, or comments! I can certainly answer those, so let’s!

@hyss Thanks! Forks was always meant as a gift to the community, so I’m just glad you told me you enjoyed it !
@Urudif You too! There’s more coming (at the end of the post even!), but I’m so sorry I’m only getting to you three weeks later. Where does the time go?

This is why I don’t have a Forks discord

@thatdanner I’m so glad you liked the dialogue! I have little experience prior to this, and finding a proper voice for myself and the characters was extremely difficult. An early version of Forks actually had a narrator, but the pacing proved to be too slow. I discovered that shorter dialogue made for snappier dialogue, and read much better too. It’s actually why Rea can be so rude sometimes, she was my testbed for quicker dialogue. Early Rea was really shy.

@namad Namad, hi! Aria still doesn’t have a thread because I don’t want to make one before the first demo’s ready, but there are weekly(ish) updates for free on the Patreon! You shouldn’t even have to sign up (please tell me if you do, they should be public to everyone). We also don’t have a Twitter for the same reason we don’t currently have a Discord.

@Aleece Hey, Aleece! You’re a Forks veteran, thanks for sticking around for so long :sunglasses:We will make a thread once it’s ready but like you said, I don’t expect as much traction until the pure WG content’s added.Working on it though!

This’ll go in the next free Patreon update, future fat cow girl who hangs around with Brie.

@Markava123JD Thanks for the kind words! It takes even more time to edit the game into something I’m happy with, but it makes me glad to know it’s worth it. I was always worried my writing was/is/would be crap :persevere:. Still am, but I’ll keep it!

@Urudif Again! It’d been so long between posts that this deserves its own response.

When writing something brand new, I always:

  • Begin with a draft that contains the major events I want the scene to have.
  • Start the scene cold turkey and insert the characters into the situation I’ve set in the draft.
  • Try to picture myself in the character’s shoes until I think I have a decent idea of what’s going through their heads while the scene’s unfolding.
  • Follow their thoughts, which inevitably always ends up changing the scene into something very different from what I planned it to be.

Essentially, writing a Forks scene means building a box for everyone to play in, dumping them inside, and writing what they do. It never ends up being what I expected, and hopefully the approach has been a net benefit for the story. I can’t force anyone to do something, because it ends up being awful.

For example, does anyone remember the first demo, where Alex stuffs herself in her dorm room? That was me trying to force a “sexy” scene, and it sucked. I ripped it out of the new demo.

To answer your second question. it’s easier for me to write relative to a shared point in time, rather than write several scenes for a character, then go back to earlier in the story to write scenes for another. It ends up taking more time and has problems of its own, but it’s easier for me to tell everyone’s story at once before moving forward in time.

Sometimes, the hardest part of writing is just getting started after a long day at work. It can take me hours to get in the groove. Here’s a snippet of a brand-new scene for the next demo update:

This took most of my free time that day, because I had to take myself out of work and into Rea’s/Alex’s world, then figure out what the heck they were doing. It can take a while :flushed:

Thanks, everyone!

Glad to see the game is somewhat progressing smoothly. We’ll be here waiting for your next update.

Just out of curiosity, would you and the team ever consider either releasing sheet music for the original music in the novel, or just releasing the music on Spotify or Apple Music or something? It’s such an amazing soundtrack even just from the demo, I can’t get enough of it!

You can go to patreon page. Find the composer and go to SoundCloud and follow them there.

So… that sounds like something you could do in the Sims games. Place a couple of Sims in a box, give them personalities befitting the Forks girls, give them high autonomy, and see how they interact.

This happens to me a LOT. Some of my characters are scripted, some aren’t, but even with the script roughed out in my head, when I actually sit down to write it, it’s amazing how often things pan out completely differently to what I had planned.
