I still believe releasing all the portraits should be the nuclear option only if @Tron completely gives up on finishing the story. Seeing all the stages prior to playing the game will ruin alot of the enjoyment of playing imo.
I completely agree with you.
Sure I’m also real interested but I prefer to see them in game.
I also think that if Tron showed everything immediately, he himself would have less incentive to continue with the development.
Wasn’t there also another character in the works, or am I mistaken? If so, will they be gaining too or are they just a new side character?
Same here, never got to see the cosplay outfit despite multiple tries. Does anybody know what specific action is needed to see it ?
I don’t think you can see it. I got all three routes in the demo and didn’t see it once. I think it is in the files, but not implemented yet
Whew! Nine replies, I’d wanted to wait until a bit so I could show some progress (which I’m editing right now), but let me shed some light!
Regarding Cosplay Rea, that was an accidental inclusion. I have to scrub everything players aren’t meant to see from the main development branch whenever I release a public build, and I forgot to remove that from Rea’s Tier 2 portraits (since the rest are fine). Cosplay Rea is meant to show up later. She was originally going to show up in the demo, but I ended up cutting the scene.
Fun fact, one of the first builds I uploaded to Itch accidentally had every portrait in it, and it was up for about 20 minutes before I realized my mistake. One lucky player messaged me asking if that was intentional, and I told them to enjoy the surprise but to please not share them publicly.
To my knowledge, they have not, and if they’re reading this then I want them to know I really appreciate it
@Urudif There were several additional characters in the works! They were side characters to complement the main cast, and would not gain (but would have multiple outfits). We managed to finish one before burnout took us and we started talking about Aria as a palette cleanser. It’s been a while since we’ve seen her, so here’s Mina again:
There were two other characters concepted but never sketched. I still plan to write them and may have Toro draw them once he feels ready to return to Forks (he’s seriously enjoying Aria, which I’m happy about because between the two projects he’s had to put in work

Photoshop wizards who can code in Python:
Ok, so Mina is just being added to complement the world rather than for any gaining purposes. I’m really excited to see what they’ll be like, there really hasn’t been a character so far that I’ve disliked; they are all so interesting and I can’t wait to play/read more :).
@Shugoki Ha, you wouldn’t be the first
@Urudif Indeed, they’re there to complement the world as well as the characters. Glad you’re excited for more! At least one of the new characters, Emily, is planned for the new demo, but without an official Toro portrait she may have a stand-in until she does.
I remember Mina in an earlier post with just her face. Some 5-600 post ago.
Also almost at 1000 posts.
Ren’py is much easier than python if all you’re doing is making a VN and don’t need any fancy features like parallax or minigames.
Really I think anyone can do it (the level of coding understanding required at bare minimum), the hardest part about writing a VN in 2021 is writing, not coding.
I certainly don’t know how to write a good story or character or conversation myself
Mina may not have any weight gain stages like the gals do, but perhaps, as an easter egg scene, one of the gals could imagine what she’d look like if Mina got into gaining and grew big too?
Sort of like a “what if” scenario.
laughs in English major All I need now is some fuckin money to comm Toro to make more assets…
If so, could we please have a badly drawn literal cardboard cutout made by you in microsoft paint as the stand in? I’m joking… but if it was that it’d be funny.
All I can say is wow. I’m not normally the visual novel type of person (mainly because most of the ones I read don’t feel to normal or have a lot of spelling mistakes), but this one is not like others I’ve gone through. After doing Rea’s path in the demo, I definitely will be coming back often to check for future updates. The story feels really good to follow, it’s not so centralized on feederism to where it takes away from the story, while still keeping your attention if you’re here for the weight gain elements, the characters are REALLY good (Rea and Morgan are my favorites btw lol, and is overall probably the best Weight-Gain-Based VN I’ve read. Great job, and keep up the good work!
Hey, all! I’m feeling downright nostalgic today, because it’s been a while since I’ve posted an update in the middle of the week like this! Today was my first day back in the office on a semi-normal schedule (baby made it to 2 months old, so tiny things like colds won’t send him to the hospital anymore), and even with just the afternoon available I got a lot done- on both Forks and Aria! I’m not sure what it is about the office that makes me so much more productive, but having been WFH since February 2020, I feel like I might finally be picking up the pace to something more pre-Covid. I hope this bodes well for the update schedule!
Peek at what I was doing today, we’re getting to the point in the story where you and the route choice have the talk. Those who played the demo can understand Rea might be more accepting than others .
I really hope this means good things. I don’t want to over-promise, but I always feel accomplished when I can type these up for everyone in the evenings
@namad Indeed, Ren’Py with its thorough documentation is so easy even I can do it! Funny enough, our programmer on Aria actually coded some parallax tools. Tough to implement and it takes a lot of work from Toro too, but the results are worth it! Don’t think they’ll make the first release though…
@ThisAnon Maybe! The trouble is that Toro is booked solid, and any Forks work I wrangle out of him will have to be on something really important, like missing CGs and characters. If we manage to clear everything out and still have some time, then we can start exploring the possibilities.
@Urudif I’d thought about that! Everyone’s seen so much of Toro’s art that maybe it’s time I step in
@Dynamical Hi, nice to see you again! Thank you so much for the kind words! My original motivation way back when was to write a WG story that I’d actually want to read, and it turns out that meant making the WG take a backseat to the greater narrative. It still frames the plot (and you can see in the snippet above, is front-and-center sometimes too), but it’s not all of it. Really, Forks is about a person overcoming their inner (and outer) baggage while finding their way in the adult world. Radical changes like Alex’s have consequences, and it’s up to her to navigate them. I could’ve made the obstacle be, like, toy trains, but that wouldn’t have been as interesting!
Regardless, I hope I can make the end of this journey worthwhile for everyone
I have been following this thread for what seems like a lifetime but always kinda just lurked but I’m super excited for the end product and how great of a ride the whole thing really is so I decided to speak up . I love the whole premise of the story and the tone that it’s shifting to from the demo that I played with all the routes now. I’m super excited to see the gain of all the characters particularly what type of body shape each will get to when they start getting even bigger. From what I have seen so far I can guess about the general outcomes of them. Alex being more apple shaped, Hannah more top heavy (obviously), Grace a nice pear shape, Rea a mix of apple and pear, and Morgan being a bit of a mystery wish that I would love to see some light shed on. But it’s awesome that you can still find the time to work on this with having a completely separate project in the works plus having a kid (congrats btw) is truly outstanding. But great work so far and hope to see more updates as soon as possible!
This hound must ask to refresh his memory
Rea is the Alaskan gal right?
Love the game Tron! Just was replaying it for the first time in months and noticed Rhea’s comment about not really celebrating Thanksgiving. Is the game going to just go to the end of the semester or are we going to end up with a Thanksgiving scene with the girls?
Can’t wait for another demo or the full release!
Western semesters go a few weeks past thanksgiving. So, I’d assume if forks is finished, then yes, it would go past thanksgiving.
