Gain Station 13 - a sci-fi roleplaying game with expansion elements!

There are jobs like Scientist or Geneticist which perform experiments, and in the fashion of the game, most will not discriminate on whom they perform their experiments, including themselves.

If you want to however solely be a lab rat, the Assistant job is also fit for it, if you find and consent to someone willing to experiment on you.

Kind of a shame there’s no SS14 variant, what I would do for that. Seems fun, once I figure out how to get Byond to work on my computer, I’ll try joining in here.

iirc SS14 didn’t allow ERP servers but then again, I think there was also a toggle to see those kinds of servers. Dont know much of it so only take my word with a grain of salt.

What you should hear me out on tho, the place is currently rebasing to a new code base which will revamp and bring a lot of new cool features. Things are coming together slowly, but it all seems very promising.

I am looking forward for one of the new features where rooms can become inundated on liquids, which would also include the fattening liquids lmao, itll make for wacky moments, that is if it doesn’t turn out deadly because, in SS13 just about anything can end up killing you.

That sign can’t stop me because I can’t read!
Man, I would join but I got so much on my plate right now…
So what sort of things does this game have to offer?

Weight gain mechanics aside… the game offers quite a lot to do if you give it the chance and the time.

Gameplay varies and is rather distinct with every department ingame, emphasis is put on roleplay and storytelling, recently we have also moved our functionality onto a more up to date codebase, bringing a ton of things to do, and generally a lot of quality of life that supports the roleplay aspects of the game.

To ā€œquicklyā€ list each department:

Security focuses on maintaining peace at station, with law to uphold, investigate crimes, and resolve conflicts between players.

Medical heals and fixes people, either surgically or using chemicals by mixing them yourself or automate mixing on a large scale via plumbing, you can also craft viruses with various effects.

Cargo handles station logistics and maintains a steady flow of materials other departments use to craft new things, by either embarking onto a deadly planet to mine resources, or newly bitrunning which are small adventure scenarios that reward the user with ore for completion.

Engineering maintains machinery, the power grid, power delivery, communications, life support, and integrity of the station, for the right people it is an amazing place ripe with experimentation with some truly insane builds.

Science unlocks new research technology, and improves the quality of all other departments, you can also farm slimes to get cores with a ton of different effects focused around one topic, like silver slime cores being food related.

Finally, Service is perhaps the most varied and most RP oriented, like being a Chaplain spreading your religion of choice, a Curator that runs station news and maintains a library with literature, a Clown/Mime to entertain people, Lawyer that settles disputes between people, and perhaps the most favorite… Botanist to grow plants for the cook to sevre food, and the bartender to serve drinks.

The community is incredibly helpful and can teach you anything you ask about as long as they know and you don’t mind reading some wiki pages.

I’m the type of guy to read wiki pages for hours on end, thanks for the info

Maybe I would join the Discord, but I don’t like the requirement of going through the effort of putting my ID online. I know it’s to deter underage users (and frankly the best way as far as I can think of it) but that just risks exposing other sensitive information online and all for what? A brief fun time? I would feel better if I had an more clear idea of what I was getting myself into… like is the roleplay contained in-game or does it spread out into the server? Is there sexual content that is NSFW on the server or the game, or is it just simple fat fun? I am REALLY, REALLY tempted to join, but I need as much info as I can get.

We do include 18+ sexual content, with mechanics, and items to support both RP and ERP aspect of the game. The game generally is more of a work simulator, a social space with occasional player driven chaos thrown in, and a place to enjoy expansion, vore, and other similar types of fetish content.

The roleplay is kept mostly to the game, but we do have channels where you can discuss your original characters and show them off, discuss roleplaying ideas, and look for people who’d be interested. We also have channels for sharing NSFW art.

Honestly, the game can be difficult at first, and it isn’t for everyone, but when I gave it a chance, it REALLY pulled me in, with a supportive community that can answer any game related questions, or even teach you the ropes, it got me to stick around.

I get that asking for ID is a deal breaker, and personally wish we didn’t need to do so. We do our best to delete any document photos, review users manually, and ask them to black out most of the sensitive information.

I’m starting to get interested now… but have there been incidents with minors in this server before?

AFAIK there was once before, which is why the ID policy was implemented. Folks were caught lying about their age, though it’s been a hot minute I may be misremembering.

It’s less concern for exposure of vital data that keeps me away, more the effort of actually manually editing out each line of numbers and words I don’t want to slip out. Like I don’t have photoshop. The data leak risk is just the cherry on top for me.
TL;DR I’m lazy

You could probably just add black rectangles over the stuff you don’t want leaked in MS Paint. the servers I’m in that require ID verification allowed and even recommended it. Not sue if that’s an option here, though…

Yeah, any approach is viable as long as data we do not require for age verification is obscured. One exception applies to blurs, since nowadays that can be reconstructed, so I’d heavily recommend against that.

Found out the easiest method is to just take a picture with your phone, and use native photo editing software on it to just grab a paint brush and draw over the identifiers.

Made an application to get on the server. I hope that I get accepted.

Is there a way to appeal bans? I’m banned on the discord and there seems like theres no other way to appeal

Best would be to contact me directly on the forum, from there we can move over to Discord.

Where I can find the game?
