Weight gain mechanics aside⦠the game offers quite a lot to do if you give it the chance and the time.
Gameplay varies and is rather distinct with every department ingame, emphasis is put on roleplay and storytelling, recently we have also moved our functionality onto a more up to date codebase, bringing a ton of things to do, and generally a lot of quality of life that supports the roleplay aspects of the game.
To āquicklyā list each department:
Security focuses on maintaining peace at station, with law to uphold, investigate crimes, and resolve conflicts between players.
Medical heals and fixes people, either surgically or using chemicals by mixing them yourself or automate mixing on a large scale via plumbing, you can also craft viruses with various effects.
Cargo handles station logistics and maintains a steady flow of materials other departments use to craft new things, by either embarking onto a deadly planet to mine resources, or newly bitrunning which are small adventure scenarios that reward the user with ore for completion.
Engineering maintains machinery, the power grid, power delivery, communications, life support, and integrity of the station, for the right people it is an amazing place ripe with experimentation with some truly insane builds.
Science unlocks new research technology, and improves the quality of all other departments, you can also farm slimes to get cores with a ton of different effects focused around one topic, like silver slime cores being food related.
Finally, Service is perhaps the most varied and most RP oriented, like being a Chaplain spreading your religion of choice, a Curator that runs station news and maintains a library with literature, a Clown/Mime to entertain people, Lawyer that settles disputes between people, and perhaps the most favorite⦠Botanist to grow plants for the cook to sevre food, and the bartender to serve drinks.
The community is incredibly helpful and can teach you anything you ask about as long as they know and you donāt mind reading some wiki pages.
