Gorge World- FatFur TTRPG

I’m very glad to hear that GorgeWorld fits what you were looking for. And no shame on only playing human characters, the Natural Items are still there for use if you want to play things like dwarves or elves or other ‘human adjacent’ creatures from other franchises.

And I’m also glad you’ve found the game welcoming to homebrew for various other kinks that you have

Hey so, quick question that I was wondering. How does having 0 in a stat work with flubs? Like, do you need to roll double blanks, or just a single one? I ask because I’ve been totally having silly ideas about a character with 0 Force getting inflicted with Bloat, so that’s why It’s been on my mind.

Oh and, I know you’ve probably been getting this a lot, but gosh is the book good. Even as someone more into Inflation than WG, I really enjoyed reading about both!

With having 0 in a stat, you need to roll 2 blanks to flub.
And thats kind of due to my idea that, you’re already rolling a really bad stat, having every other roll be a flub will just demotivate you from using it.

“Thematically” though, its like being too weak to really hurt yourself, and having 1 in a stat means your just good enough to start ‘really’ screwing up proper.

Anyway, thanks for the complement, I’m really glad you enjoy it and even find fun using it for more inflation themed games

Book Really Good. That’s all
(But seriously, this looks like a really fun system to play with. Hoping I get to do so some time!)

I do wanna ask if there’s any potential plans to add VTT support for the game. Not too sure how the process works, but it’d be pretty great to be able to play this on Foundry!

There’s already a workshop add on for TableTop Sim that adds in the character sheet, various cards, and the fudge dice.

For ‘other’ systems, thats quite a bit more complicated and will probably end up being more of a fan effort, as any of that programming stuff is above me. Though the formatter and I did our best to make it as playable as possible in an un modified VTT.

A pair of questions:

One is regarding how the characters gain weight. From what I read from the rules, it depends heavily on the successes each character gets whenever they find a single feast or load of food. Assuming I am reading and practicing the rules properly, every single feast 1st-level players have are likely to only give them one single fullness point, on average? If so, it seems characters would end a session with only one fullness point, which would vanish and empty once the next session starts?

I had always assumed, narratively, that it’d take one single feast to make characters grow, but in order to have characters gain weight somewhat fast, it seems they’d require multiple feasts/food sources in a single session. I’d like to know how is a Gorge World session run, in order to be able to try it sometime.

How many times per session would a party theoretically be able to binge, under standard rules and non-accelerated weight gain? Should a GM have only one feast per session, or place food everywhere that would make characters continuously eat?

Another regarding the Vore rules on page 182: It mentions that “add to the consumer’s fullness
based on their max fullness and the size of the consumed compared to the consumer.”

If I understand this correctly, does it mean that a Medium-sized character with 6 empty Fullness points that eats a small one gets three fullness points, rather than half a point, to put an example? Fullness and Fullness points seem to be used interchangeably at times, making things a little confusing.

Well, when it comes to Gorging, players will tend to roll their best trait, usually having 2 maybe 3 dice, so its possible to gain 2 to 3 points of fullness per Gorge Roll.

As a GM you can give the players more than one opportunity to gorge, probably 2 or 3 per session depending on the situation, though the fun part is just having players ‘find’ fun alcoves of food. Someone’s broken a vending machine, maybe the office snack room is unattended and several boxes of donuts are left over. Or even play with the player character’s favorite food, nothing like getting someone to over indulge when their favorite treat is part of an open buffet at an event (which, if they eat their favorite food they roll their gorge roll at advantage).

It can also depend on how long your sessions are. This method assumes your doing a normal 2-4 hour verbal session, which can either take place entirely in one place, or even take place over multiple days, as characters travel. It really depends on the scenario, and in some cases, it might just not be ‘a good time’ to eat or gain weight if the players are more interested in other aspects of the game at that moment in time.

ALSO, practically every ‘food item’ that has some sort of ability, also provides 1 fullness automatically.

ON the topic of Vore, if someone were already fat enough to where they require 6 fullness to gain a girth point, they are a medium creature who consumes a small creature, they’d gain 3 fullness. Same with the other way around, if they ate a large character, they’d gain 9 fullness instead.

Thank you so much for the response!

I want to make a campaign where characters begin slim, and progress over the months until they’re colossal beings. Characters begin with 2 or 3 points on their max stat, and if we’re not accounting either favorite foods nor special items, they’d have 3*1/3 chances of gaining a single fullness point when they are just starting a campaign, but wouldn’t be enough to make them go overboard for the most part, under those circumstances.

That said, as you mention, two or three chances to gorge, alongside hidden spots to eat and items to gain weight, could be ways to make it easier on the players. Something else I think about, is how perhaps the first level is the one where they would most likely stay slim under probabilities – while the moment they gain 3, 4, or even 4 with a die reroll, it’s when their characters can easily gain weight, since the chances to gain weight go up to 1.33 at 4 points, and 1.88 at 4 points with a reroll. Seems odds favor characters to gain weight the higher level they are, which is genius, and a way to make weight gain more slow-paced.

I’ll be playing that way in my tests. Add chances to gorge alongside secret ones, and items to gain weight. And, counting quests and milestones as ways to get more pins, so characters can get more pins to level up. Once again, much appreciated!

Well by the rules, you can only go up to 3, but if you want to be a big glass cannon you can totally have 3 in two separate stats and 0 in the other two. ((I’m personal a fan of a 3,2,1,0 distribution myself))

My big thing is that, I as a GM might place a few fun places, but if a Player ends up making a good point or end up doing something like, actively using a few skill checks to make a large meal for them and their group, I’ll actively have them do a Gorge Roll then. Cause the best time, the best ‘opportunities’ are the ones players end up creating. Less work you’ll need to do in the long run.

And usually any consumable item adds a fullness. And dont forget, “Snacks” (the meta currency that allows you to re-roll) can be spent and ‘consumed’ as points of fullness at the end of a session as well.

Now that the game’s released, what major changes did you make during the game development due to problems or design flaws you have found out later during development?

I might write a larger article in a ‘behind the scenes’ document for my Ko-Fi
But the two big ones was that
One, having more than 10 burdens of bloat/waterlogged would have been lethal, implied popping/bursting, still made saving rolls and can be recoverable, but one of the playtestors had a phobia of bursting. Originally I was just gonna make a custom doc for them, but after removing any mentions of bursting from the book and continuing the game, I realized more people were actively messing with the bloat/waterlogged burdens and having fun with them now that the possibility of a game over was removed. Yet it still had its major ‘drawbacks’ as it pretty much immobilized you and prevented you from doing anything after a certain point. So just ‘removing’ the mention of it and the lethality, once you hit 10 you couldn’t go higher, just made the game more fun and transfered the changes to the ‘main’ book.

Two, wasn’t going to add Vore, but after working on the capture mechanics for a future ‘pokemon esque’ campaign expansion, I realized I inadvertently created a somewhat ‘balanced’ vore mechanic that would still be ‘effective’ but not overpowered. And even then only took a person or two to ask about consuming the enemy or consuming a large food based enemy that I decided to properly test it out and add it to the back of the book.

Any chance of seeing popping/bursting come back in a supplemental module? That sort of thing is very much right up my alley.

Maybe, though I’ll note its one of those ‘really simple’ rules changes, where it could be a small section for a ‘hardcore mode’.

For players, once they get one bloat/waterlogged over 10, then they burst/pop.
And same thing when implementing it enemies. Like fattening enemies, you just use a similar 'HP" level they have and thats the amount of fullness/Bloat/Waterlogged they can handle before being incapacitated in the way that you like.

Cool - thanks for the quick run down!

You can determine how ‘lethal’ it is.
Either they just return to normal size and need to ‘recover’ before failing a few death saves.
Or its just a one in done.
Or just an auto ‘temporary knock out’ with a new ‘scar’ added to them.

I’ve noticed the “Ko-Fi” subscription page is up now with active documents to download if you subscribe. If you subscribe late, like several months late, can you still get those documents?

There will be an active backlog of documents, though after a couple months I’ll bump up the cost to $1 each before eventually bundling ‘that years’ modules into a single $10 bundle of sorts. ((The previous 3 or 4 months of expansions will always be free))

A good balance of rewarding those who keep donating and help do what I do, while giving leeway to those who arrive a little late, but also still have all the stuff still ‘accessible’ at reasonable prices.

Apparently there’s an upcoming bioship “brochure” coming up… that will be interesting as the announcement suggests you can be the spaceship.

Yep, new select able Natural Item, “Large Vehicle”, provides benefits and a bit of a drawback for carrying passengers and a ‘pilot’. So yeah, with the correct natural items you can play as your own Spaceship. ((Though you need to think of it more like a starfighter, as opposed to like, a big space cruiser.))

Even then, you can also be a more terrestrial ship (or even a sub) with the correct Natural Items.
