my game still freezes when I try to talk to the cat in the chapel in this latest version. I haven’t tried getting to this point without loading a save file however, so that could be it.

Interesting…Does it happen all the time? Lulu and I tried it and it didn’t happen for either of us, so I think there’s something wrong with your download.

If I may ask, what can we expect from this new upcoming update? An expansion to the story? An expansion to the… well, expanding and weight gain? Something else? All or none of the above?
The game is just a personal favorite to me on this site, so I apologize in advance if you don’t want to share the details yet. I’m just a little excited.

Hmmm…
Well, I don’t want to give away too much, since some stuff is bound to change as we work on it, but I guess some very rough outlines won’t hurt.
We’ve dubbed this update the “stuffed” update, since we plan on largely building onto the existing game, though some minor changes to the game as it is right now are also planned.
All in all, let’s just say that if you liked the base game, you will also most likely like the new update, since we’re trying to keep the same feel and lore, with some little additions.

Hi Erronwolf, i started playing recently but i lost track of the story and don’t know what should i do.
Instead of asking what am i supposed to do, is there any thing that either works as a walkthrough or could remind the player what should he need to do at this point of the story like a book with quest ?

I know you’re not asking me, but the first half of my name if close enough, so I guess I work as well.
If I recall, you get a phone as one of your items, and I’m pretty sure if you use it in your key items, it pulls up a list of things you need to do. Some side quests don’t appear on it for some reason, but i’m pretty sure the main quest info is accurate.

Alright so I talked with Lulu a bit and decided that I can add a few tiny details.
The bulk of new content will be accessed after the original “final” boss, I’m currently thinking about if we leave some sort of pre-made save for those people who already played the game before or not, we’ll see.
We also plan on changing some of the more bland looking maps in the game, though there will be other things changed and added when it comes to the content that’s currently available.
And yeah, it’ll take some time to get it done, I’m not gonna give any specific deadline since that’d just stress us out in the long run. Just expect it sometime in the future.
In the meantime, Lulu and I will be hanging around the forums to answer questions and such, as long as we’re not working on stuff.

it freezes when I advance the MCs text where he remarks that cats cant talk, the game hangs and the little white delta stops bouncing.
Could very well be some issue with my computer, as this freeze has occurred across two versions of the game

Hm, it seems that it really is something wrong with your computer most likely not correctly loading something, most likely some sort of graphic or something.
As to why, I have no idea, could be a problem with your download, could be a million other things.

Hello everyone, Erron here with a bit of a troubling topic.
So, it appears we have come to an impass in the development of the expansion, as there have been some disagreements on the changes of artstyle between us and the original creator. Now, this doesn’t mean that the project is cancelled…well, not yet anyway, but it does mean that we need someone to help us out.
So, that’s why I’d like to ask if anyone would be interested in joining our little team as an artist. Now, I don’t mean someone who can make sprites and such, as we are already quite alright in that department, but someone who can draw proper weight gain art.
Now, I want to mention that we can’t exactly provide payment, but anyone willing to help us out would have the opportunity of adding things (within reason of course) into the story, such as side quests, characters, etc. I know it’s not the best deal, but we aren’t asking for picasso here, just for someone who can draw in an artstyle that we can all agree on.
If anyone is iterested, feel free to DM me on the forums, possibly with an example of your art and we can discuss things from there.
In case we don’t find anyone, I just wanted to apologize for getting everyone’s hopes up, as we would have to cancel the project.

In case the right artist doesn’t appear, don’t worry, the remake will be done, but as you already know I’m in the middle of developing my other game, which I plan to finish in the first quarter of next year as long as I don’t have any delays.
In short, if an artist does not appear, we will have to wait in the middle or end of next year.

Hmm, it really sucks that you’ve all hit this roadblock. I really looked forward to even more of this game, and I would like to help you somehow, but I can’t draw to save my ass, let alone contribute art to put into the game. Well, I do hope that this new version won’t be cancelled and that you’ll find an artist who has a style that you would be satisfied with.
Why not hire an artist, or try getting commissions?
The reason is actually rather simple:
You have to remember that this game is not something we ourselves made to begin with, we are only making a little expansion to it and are understandibly hesitant to spend loads of money on a free game that we are only adding onto to begin with.
I may be the person who translated the game and am as such rather interested in seeing it get more popular, but that doesn’t outweigh the fact that I’m not going to invest into something I cannot expect to get anything back out of.

Exactly, you cannot invest money in something that will be free, but what you can offer is in the credits. Because if something stands out in the game the people will be interested in who created it.

Alright everyone, doom and gloom no longer!
After only about two days of waiting we have been approached by not one but two artists, those being the talented @Cj-x4.3 and @Choak, which means that work is being continued once again!
We still can’t give you any exact release dates, but rest easy knowing that this project isn’t dead afterall.

So, this is a bit of a different post, since we are having a bit of a discussion in our group at the moment.
The gist of it is that we have been seriously considering to abandon this project and instead make something entirely new as a team.
We are pretty torn right now, since we did say we are working on this and don’t want to let you guys down, but techincally Hungry Elves is already done and finished, so we really don’t know which way to go forward.
That’s why we’re asking you guys! I will put up a poll and you can say what you prefer: Do we make the expansion, or do we make our own game with possibly similar mechanics but a different story etc.?

While I voted for the expansion, I think the most important thing factor should be what you guys have the motivation to work on. While it’s easy to want the expansion because it already has a ton of content, if rewriting and worming in small bits of new content isn’t what’s interesting to your team, then that should settle it.
If nothing else, this game is still thoroughly enjoyable and everyone involved has done a great job.
