I apologize for all the struggles with the bad tent ending and thanks for answering them each time they pop up everyone!
I also hope everyone had a safe and corona-free Halloween. While I don’t have any updates for the game very sorry if you saw this recent post by me and got excited for nothing, I’d still like to reconfirm to people that the project is still being worked on and I have some quality team members to heavily assist with writing! Art assets is what many would expect is still a struggle and the main roadblock. I’m still looking for artists if anyone would be willing to volunteer. Hit me up on forum pms or via discord if interested! BernardFlowmax#7056
not bad :3
I especially liked the fact that Lysithea was portrayed reasonably sane and not becoming a fat addict right off the bat without a reason or explanation :3
Hey guys! I just wanted to give you all a quick update since it’s been forever.
No, I am NOT Bern, but I’ve been working with him on the project as a scriptwriter and various other small tasks.
I just wanted to say we’ve been working a lot on rewriting the game and rebalancing the gameplay, stats and adding more systems, like a passive skill system.
We now actually have a new version of the demo ready, but Bern has been gone for weeks and we haven’t heard from him. We’re gonna hold out to see if we hear from him again before doing anything more.
But we’re still working hard on it! We actually made a LOT of progress in the past week alone!
What you are saying makes me realize… how important it is that more than one person has a copy of the *game in the community… So many projects just die out, when just by maybe having that 1 extra person could have made them live longer.
Anyway, if anyone wants to ask any questions about the project’s new direction, characters, progress, updates, etc. I’m full of all the answers, so ask away!
Actually I liked the demo quite a lot so I hoped that the project won’t be abandoned, more than ask about new direction and characters I’m looking forward to play them.
Asking when there will be the next update isn’t nice right? so, could you use a beta tester?
I did the same for other projects I liked and it is fun to test the limits of a game and found errors before the developers fix them, and more important because a developer fix them.
A beta tester could be useful, but I don’t want to open the floodgates if you get what I mean.
We do need more artists and writers, and especially some map designers.
I figure that, while I’m still here, I may as well give some general ideas for what we’ve been working on, at least in terms of the battle system.
Everything else will remain a secret, but here’s some things to look forward to:
–Stats have been set to a more FE level (Double digits rather than triple digits).
–Level Ups now include growth rates to affect how stats level up (The growth rates are relatively high also, to ensure the player doesn’t get stat screwed)
–Added a Passive Skill system where skills can be learned through leveling up or other means and can be equipped in the ‘Skills’ Menu. These skills include - ‘Magic +2’, ‘Fiendish Blow’, and ‘Ignis’, just to name a few. There will be some unique personal skills for the characters as well.
–Miasma has been renamed ‘Swarm Z’ and has had it’s poison damage reduced.
–Enemy attack power has been reduced for the first dungeon so poison spam isn’t the best way to win
–Weapon durability has been added, along with combat arts.
–Major edits were made to the default Critical and Accuracy formulas used by RPG Maker MV. Said formulas now scale off stats more than before. On that note, spells and special moves all affect Accuracy and Crit rate in their own ways also with some spells being more accurate than others.
–Adding to that, we are now using a plugin that displays a character’s Hit and Crit rate when they are targeting an enemy.
Overall, these edits were made to give the game a slower, slightly more tactical feel.
We aren’t going full on Grid-Based Strategy game though, it’s still a turn-based RPG.
There are other systems we’ve been developing, but we’ll keep that a secret for now!
Feel free to share your thoughts with us on the matter also!
Just giving another quick update!
I was going to post one on the 2nd of April, but let’s just say a certain game that involves the hunting of monsters has been consuming my time and life.
Thankfully, I’ve already beaten the game so I can focus on LSE and updates again.
Now, onto the important issue:
No, we have not heard back from Bern, so when I finish chapter 2, I will discuss with the team releasing an updated demo.
Work has been slow lately, mostly because of Monster Hunter, but I’m back to working out the story. I don’t want to make any promises, but a new demo SHOULD be available this month if everything goes well.
