Hey! Check out this game I made with @MB_Locke
I won’t go much into gameplay, as to keep the surprise theme
All character art, dialogue, and story is done by MLocke, while I did the gameplay and sprites!

This was so much fun to be a part of, big thanks to Glacie for doing an amazing job with the gameplay and going along with this crazy idea from my head. I hope you all enjoy it.
That was fun. Cute artstyle and inventive use of the RPGMaker engine.
Cute little game. And it has a lot of unexpected things around!
Neat little game, with nice variety. Inflation is unfortunately rare on this forum. Art was great as well!
Most of the timers were far too lenient, though. I was barely 20% of the way through on the final challenge’s timer when I was done. The floor tile puzzle was also weirdly glitchy; some tiles kept activating by themselves.
Overall, I enjoyed it quite a bit!
was a decent adventure and it did surprise me at the end! I could see some of these system in a more fledged out game!
This was a cute little game, I enjoyed it!
I’m also just incredibly thankful to have a game where we have the option for a male lead and focus, was really refreshing <3!
I also noticed the tiles being a bit funny, but this was only when I moved too fast after slamming on one of the buttons as it would active the buttons I walked on for a small bit after slamming.
Overall good game, loved the art and thanks for the work you both put into this
pretty fun, enjoyed the mini games
mysticalboardwalk-windows 1.0.1.zip:
Good point:
+Varied mini games
+Cute art
Point to review:
-Going through game over to reset a mini game is an idea but it can cause problems if the automatic save is activated when opening a store for example. Like the one you used during the mini cooking games.
-Drink. If you don’t finish a drink the game never ends.
-Jumping with your butt tends to press another button if you continue to move at the same time. The gameplay is not intuitive. A game over if you make a bad combination is too punitive. Automatic saving does not allow you to revisit the combination if necessary.
-Final maze. You can see an antidote at the bottom left of the screen. Have you defined that antidotes are only placed and appear once the previous antidote has been taken? Or was a 4th antidote planned?
-Musical loop can get annoying after a while
Final point of view: The art is nicely and very varied. I have very rarely seen a funfair map on RPG Maker. Not bad. A nice story and a good idea but some solution mean that the mini games are unfinished. You should practice with the switches, variables and event activation conditions. As said above, serving the overt game gives an unfinished side to your mini games. They also need more rigor in the finishing. But otherwise the ideas are good, I was pleasantly surprised by the ambush. But it was too easy. You should teleport them if the player moves more than 9 squares on the X axis and more than 7 squares on the Y axis for exemple.
Last thing: If you use resources that are not from basic RPG maker and that come from someone else, you should cite them out of respect for their creator. I think I saw some scripts.
In any case, it’s a great project that you’ve completed and it’s not at all to be mean that I’m giving you this feedback. Thank you for your work.
JUDGES’ VERDICTS:
The gallery is a nice and considerate addition. The art style on the portraits/splash screen is cute. The backgrounds/tilesets are well-implemented. Being able to choose between two different characters is also a nice touch and an impressive addition considering the time-constraints. The style of humor is very charming. Having splash screens as rewards for finishing minigames is a nice thing to add, it incentivizes replaying to collect more pieces for the gallery. With the tile game I lost on purpose (I didn’t flip any of the tiles) and it still gave me a golden ticket lol. Overall great job!
A surprisingly solid entry which demonstrated a high level of competency across a number of aspects. Tying a number of minigames together into a cohesive package is not easy, but this project felt like it was in a safe pair of hands all told. A great entry overall.
