Okay, I’m thinking the face might’ve been the wrong way to go.
Think we could go rounder with a hand print? Also, background isn’t needed.
And by “rounder”, I mean full circle - literally, without the pinching on the sides.

Sure thing! As soon as I have another portrait ready I’ll send it up
Btw, I don’t think I understood what ur asking for. Would u like me to get rid of the fingers entirely and just make the hand silhouette a circle or do u just want me to fill in the palm silhouette? Or something else entirely lol? Sorry, it just seems a bit unclear to me
Oh, sorry - I meant make the belly a full circle and include a hand print, without pinching on the sides of the belly.
Also, I feel like the fingers would look better if they were a bit straighter.
Gotcha! Thx for clarifying
Okay, did some playtesting with the sprites, and I’ve noticed that they’re positioned a little higher in the grid than the base walking sprites, which results in the character jerking a few pixels up when going from empty to full, then down a few pixels when going from full to empty. Also, her body is a few pixels off-center in the side views, probably from the centering accounting for the extra pixels in the front.
Alright, I’ll see about fixing that. Meanwhile, here are some mock-ups of the Portrait.
I made a version with a body just cause I felt like the floating belly was weird but also a version without it as well.
I think you forgot to shrink down the dimensions of the whole sheet so that the repositioned sprites take up the top-left eighth. RPG Maker’s taking some unnecessary space to the right of and below the actual sprites.
I like the version with the body, but could you add some outlining so it doesn’t clash as much with the RPG Maker portrait art style?
Sure! Also yes, I did mess up the sizes on the sheet, my bad. I’ll send up a fix
Okay, see if these are ok. Also, here’s a portrait with more of an outline, I looked up a couple Portraits but the styles just seem way different no matter what. If you’d like to send a model portrait I could try again later. In any case, I think this one is alright
New sprites work great, and the belly portrait works perfectly! Can’t think of anything else that would need tweaking with these.
Great to hear! I’ll start work on the next batch of belly sprites then
So, in trying to follow the belly sizes you stapled, I’ve hit a bit of a hiccup in the sprite heights. Either the head will eventually be completely covered by the belly if the height is maintained, or, the sprite will be taller in larger belly sizes.
Here are the mock-ups as of now just to give an idea of what I mean. What would you rather be done here?
I think the first option is preferable, but if you position the sprites so that the feet, when visible, are at the center of the bottom of the “cell” that RPG Maker uses, so to speak, it should work fairly well.
Does that make sense?
Oh yeah absolutely! I thought about that soon after I sent the message lmaoo, as soon as I have the sprites ready I’ll send em up
Hey, had a busy couple of days, getting back to it now.
There’s a bit of an issue with the sprite size again though. I’m not familiar with Game Maker Studio so idk how you select the sprites for the characters, e.g. if you’re able to select individual sprites from the sheet or not.
Anyways, the issue in case is that I’m unsure how to position the sprites in the sheet due to the bellies now being large enough to the point of overlapping with lower sprites (example image below). If I resize the sheet, will you be able to select sprites in a way that doesn’t cause that ‘‘jitter’’ effect when the sprites change belly sizes?
This issue is mostly related to the front facing belly, Side and Back sprites aren’t spilling out like the front facing ones are
