If I remember correctly, you should be able to purchase some dumbbells. These when used at home will increase fitness.

You can also buy an enhancement at the alchemist shop that gives 2 fitness for 200 gold as many times as you want.

Speaking of stats is there a use for speech? Or a way to increase it?

A question for someone who may have the answer, and I apologize if someone has asked this before and I just missed it: how do I unlock the buffet royale, assuming it’s in the game at this time.

Just tried this out, went through the new cooking job. I’m not sure the Sweet Pie actually gives you money if you actually complete it, and some things like the flapjack or tallcake have conflicting names/(dice rolls?). Still very interesting though, adds a lot to the game.
Is there a way to raise magic, or is that an in progress thing?

Alright, I owe folks a bit of details and a slight apology(Well more than slight) for not updating this game in about a year now. The update is still coming along, but the text and options are still nowhere where I want to get it. So everything added is, once again, half finished. Fortunately this should be the last ā€˜needed’ one because I was a fool and clumped every single remaining job and aspect into one update this time. The updates to come should be mostly about content addition and rebalancing the existing things. The reason the update has taken so long has partially been due to this poor time management as I originally planned on this being no less than three different updates, but systems and details crossed over eachother too much and in the end it all became one giant update. The rest of why this has taken so long however is mostly IRL issues, and procrastination however, it probably still should not have taken over a month of proper development focus to get out what will come out soon.

Although if the Gain Jam theme tickles my fancy don’t be surprised if this gets sidelined for the duration of the Jam to do that barring any major bugs.

I full well intend on releasing, finished or not, the content that I’ve at least finished and added in, most content missing is dialogue so mechanically, things should still work if you will mind the placeholders. Because I’m cutting it close though, also don’t be surprised if you don’t see the update until mere hours before the Jam starts.

And now, in no particular order of folks, some overdue answers:
@Woh Probably is indeed the case, but I’ll try to keep in mind to do another run-over on the stuff there. Cooking does have some variance in difficulty, some will pay better/take more time/etc. One of the biggest ones that I know will need heavy tweaking for the balance update. Magic is not currently in, it’d come in around the adventurer update at soonest… which is not for a while.
@LeftHandManGary Buffet Royale is not implemented yet. It’s a hurdle I plan on tackling probably last in terms of content re-adding, second only to the rest of the eating contests.
@Das_Amigos The weights to train with are in the furniture shop at the market (left side of it). It’s a set of axes or weighted hammers, I’ve gotta figure a bit of a better way to note what does what. Might leave little +stat symbols near the requisite item in the shops.
@AlexKay Much as I like them, the coding for the AI is honestly a miracle that any of it works… It will be expanded upon later though, much as I fear having to make more AI for this.

And, as promised, apology and some other details in ā€˜celebration’ of v0.4: As I owe the several people who played this an apology by now, sorry for taking so god damn long to release an update. Version 0.4 is effectively a result of me snowballing 3 or 4 seperate, +.1 updates I had scheduled into one, half finished and even buggier mess that took over a year due to both procrastination, and also how IRL has been. Things have been crazy, to put it mildly. But I need not talk on those sorts of things as I’m sure anyone and everyone knows how the world has been lately.

I have to apologize for the sheer amount of people that presumably must be looking and watching, just from the statistics on itch alone. This update here I wanted to get out before the next weight gaming jam, and I’m just barely getting by on that technicality because the game jam starts using West Coast time. This update, by all accounts, is still not even finished by how I felt. Had I not taken literally over a year to update this, I’dve probably still wanted to work on it for about a week or two more… but alas, it is what it is right now. So, for now here is the game for folks to enjoy.

Additionally, so I can’t let myself snowball out of control this time, I’ll make it clear on the development plan going forward: The next update (v0.5) will be part 2 of the Allure Update. It will likely add a few more things to the casino, and more than that open up the Redlight Flowers building. After that (unless I get side tracked but not for a long time) will probably be the Potion Lab being finished, with it’s job being fully fleshed out. And then after Redlight Flowers, the Casino, and the Labs are fixed, will purely be focused towards content rebalancing and fixing. And after that, I’ll consider looking at the option of adding varying endings to the game.

A graphic overhaul along with other details such as randomized NPC’s walking the streets and more, is in my thoughts, but not a focus until these things are complete probably. Although the graphics overhaul probably will be decided if it is, or is not happening before I get to making endings. Sorry for taking so long, hopefully it won’t take me an entire year to update things again.

Also yes this basically is the same post on the itch site, no need to read them twice… but at least I beat the deadline I set.

It seems that if you ever work or gamble at the casino, saving is permanently disabled, rather than temporarily.

The numbers for eating what you make at the bakery are all messed up. Sometimes it’s half of what it should be, sometimes it doesn’t register at all, and sometimes it’s way MORE than it should be and instantly puts you into the ā€˜too full’ end of the minigame. Also, the strawberry tallcake ALWAYS fails, no matter how high your cooking skill is.

Does a high morality or low morality playthrough have more events? or does it not really matter? (seems like the hardest stat to change since it moves in two directions?)

@noneexpect This bug has been fixed, apologies since I for some reason re-disabled it after re-enabling it in the code in the initial release.
@Korota The numbers seemed fine, but there is a particular bit that you’ll get fed some if you do cooking you’re ā€˜overqualified’ for (2x the success roll). It’s basically a slight punishment so you don’t spam under-leveled cooking options (or, if you just want to get fatter you can do so)
@namad Not yet, it’ll have a bigger impact along with ettiquite mostly when dealing with endings. Which have not been implemented yet beyond a placeholder-esque good/bad ending. So basically, don’t worry about it at all right now lol.

No, it has nothing to do with baking too much. It happens no matter if I succeed or fail or make extra, the numbers of how much it affects fullness are just wrong, though I don’t know if it’s just displaying it wrong or the actual calculations are messed up.

on the bad endings is that just for the potions lady or there bad ends seprate of it

To corroborate Korota, the amount of fullness that the bakery gives breaks after a certain point. Can’t tell if it’s the player’s max fullness that breaks it, or something else, but after a certain point in the bakery it just starts giving you near no fullness. I even cheated to give myself an absurd baking level, and it still didn’t give me much. To be clear, I think this specifically has to do with the food you eat if you make too much.

Also, another error was that after the fairy is no longer in the bakery to help, you can still feed her once before the game recognizes that she’s gone.

It should transport you automatically if time is up.
