it might be something just for you because when i did the quest it worked fine
Hmm I haven’t heard anyone say anything about that.
Can you explain in detail what you did leading up to that?
im trying to play the game but when im at the beginging its bugging it always repates Its getting late best to sleep and it won’t pergress to the rest of the game.
Yup, in the opening post, there is a map fix. Download it and just paste the file over the original.
Go to the www folder > data
And paste it in there.
ok thank you for that
I have played as usual, no difference from version before, except that I entered all codes from the beginning, saved them from previous run. I’m going to try a new start, maybe something wrong with the safe file. Also, quick question, does it need any additional software/libraries to be install? Maybe there is something wrong with my PC.
Nothing that I know of. It’s just the standard RPG Maker MV with a couple plugins. Possibly delete the game files and redownload. Maybe something got corrupted during the download.
The code entry shouldn’t affect the bandit quest at all.
Very odd.
So it’s been a damn long while, I am still working on the game. Mostly ideas at this point and jotting stuff down and trying to work them out on paper before actually adding them.
I’ve had a busy month with uni starting back up and also moving into a new house. However, I’m back on the grind, but it’s gonna be quite the long grind since basically all NPC’s are being redone to add the following:
- Face sprites based on your size
- Morality (similar to a karma system. As you eat NPC’s, morality will increase, which will change some dialogues and potentially some endings)
- Edited text for NPC’s as you grow, so it’s not so bland.
But, this will take a while as conditionals are a pain to work with in RPG Maker, so bear with me for now. Hopefully should be done before the end of the month.
Hey so, if I eat everyone at the restaurant the game just freezes.
Ah shit, I noticed my mistake. Forgot to make it transfer the player to the outside.
I will update the entire game within the next week or two. So I’ll upload all the fixes with it.
Thanks for your patience!
Hi! This is gonna be a bit rambly, 'cuz i’m more a lurker-type personality, but…
I just wanted to say that I absolutely ADORE this game. I won’t say i’m well-versed in all of the various wg rpgmaker projects, but afaik this thing has a very unique sandbox style to it that gives so much flexibility and room to grow. I’ve played it twice over the past two months and was honestly afraid, irrationally, that you’d abandoned it, and i’m really glad to read that you’re still at it.
Browsing through the thread as a whole, i don’t have many comments to make as far as meaningful new bugs beyond the in-dev jank that occurs with some sprites or event triggers, although i will say that: i’ve never gotten the forest shrine to do anything ever, that i feel the enemies as a whole are a bit too tough, and i’m not a fan of the slow/base speed of the final weight class. But still, what’s here is flipping great.
Are you still accepting suggestions? Because, uh, my mind is kinda full of 'em right now. Nothing needing new art assets as far as I can tell, but i’ve no idea how to gauge complexity for this kind of thing.
Oh, and I’d be interested in helping out with writing, if you’d like.
I’m glad you enjoy it!
I wanted to go more sandbox’y with a way to easily add more stuff if needed.
I’m always up for ideas, hopefully I’m able to implement them too.
Writing should be okay for now, have someone already on the case for that
Not to be nitpicky but wouldn’t eating people make your morality decrease?
Well technically speaking yes, but, it’s easier to make it a variable and check when it reaches higher points. I’ll probably change it to corruption. It sounds better…
That probably would work better.
Okay, so, in a general increasing order of difficulty, at least as far as i understand it…
-
I’m sure it’s been said before, but there should totally be a dungeon of prisoners/future meals connected to, or as part of, the Castle. It doesn’t entirely make sense, i suppose, if the Queen is as gluttonous as she’s said to be, but it adds ‘flavor’ (*badump-tish!) and something else to do.
-
NPCs in the Castle should respawn, to a point? Because they’re being replaced, I guess…
-
This is probably already planned, but I think every NPC should be voreable, including shopkeepers/questgivers. Wanted to finish that quest but you ate the person? “Whoops! Serves you right!”, that kind of thing. Ties in with the sandbox style and the morality system–maybe have an ending based upon eating everyone, or at least, reaching a set moral/corruption value.
-
Being able to feed/fatten other NPCs, similar to the Yogurt Lady. Maybe not all of them, and overworld sprites would probably be an issue, but some of them for sure. The girl you help get a job with Danielle, iirc, is a prime target.
-
More slime girls, or maybe just relocate the one? I’m not a huge fan of how to get the current one, at least with respect to her location. I was thinking you could alternatively rescue her/others, maybe from either Lady G’s second floor, the Castle, or the succubus noble(?)'s house.
-
Party members! Or, member. This one is probably complicated as heck, but maybe you could recruit one or more of the NPCs-- like the slime girl, or Danielle or job girl, or the noble girl from another country. They could have a unique spell/ability, and you co!uld feed them food or people/monsters like you can Lucia.
…
This is a lot, sorry about that
Looking over all of that… Oof. None of that looks simple to do.
Some other things:
-
You could turn the generic drops from the orcs and minotaurs into consumable food items–orc hams and taur steaks, or something like that. A bit morbid, but whatever. Maybe if you don’t vore them after you beat them, they drop those instead? Only, they’re ‘uncooked.’ You can eat them like that for minor fullness, or get the fairy-wing cooking lady to cook them poorly. As the merchant in the forest seems to exist as a means of dumping monster drops for cash, maybe you could turn him into an on-site cook or something? Lotta options for a whole mini-economy system of turning meats into foods like hot dogs or whatnot.
-
As a sort of follow-up quest for the slime farmer, maybe their quest could change after a certain day. Like how the cocktail guy asks for monster drops to unlock new items, you could give the farmer drops that turn the tasty slimes into “tasty slimeorcs” and any other monsters you might add. The forest would still be needed for repeatable quests, but the farm would provide another source of food/drops.
-
A follow-up quest for the wife of the other slime guy, where she gets addicted to their taste and asks for slime drops. Maybe ends with her eating her husband or the slime farmer if you give her enough.
okay, that’s enough outta me, sorry again lol
I had the same idea. Gonna expand on the castle a bit more (also ties in with one of the NPC’s in the first area where she mentions that)
Yeah that can be done, and probably will be.
This is also planned. A flag will come up if the person offers more than just a few words. (Just have to do it carefully and plan it so I don’t break 20 things)
There’s a couple you can feed already scattered throughout the world. More might be added in future when I add more areas, but thats a bit later for now.
Might be tied to a quest leading you to a slime village or something. The slime girl (in regards to where she is now) was because my original way of doing it broke completely about 6 times.
Nah, the problem with that is it makes all dialogue options 2 times as hard, and then 3 times etc etc depending on how many party members you have. Maybe one day there will be like a golem like creature you can have as a battle buddy but that would be it.
Well, you can’t cook, so most of the time, either you need to give them to someone who can turn them into something or stumble into the trader in the forest( who appears every 4 days) and sell him the items and then buy what you want from the city (which will get more options in future)
Oh that’s an idea. Or something where they mutate randomly and become something else over time.
Yup, I had an idea for her to do something else. It’s part of my - Overhaul all the NPC’s in the world - plan. Cause currently they are bland. I finally worked out a template for NPC’s, so I work on actually changing them to be a bit more interesting and obviously, vorable.
Never apologise, ideas are always great. Having multiple perspectives on it helps a shit-ton.
Thank you!
I’ve got a bug at the start of the game, where, as soon as your character gets big and stands in the bed, there’s only a “it’s getting late, you should go to sleep” textbox, and i can’t do anything.
nevermind.
I found the solution by scrolling through the other comments.
