Ren'py game, inspired by fillmeup

I was told my multiple people at this point i should make a topic about this, so now it is here.

As a lot of us know, the project “fillmeup” Was essentially abandoned. I really enjoyed that game, and the character and gain dynamics of it. I took it upon myself to make a game with a similar scenario and premise, from the ground up. I have already made some images and wrote renpy code for it, being mostly done with the intro portion of the game. I am learning blender and ren’py as i go, so the images and poses i make may sometimes seem inconsistent, as i am constantly improving.

My workflow with this project is that i will start a feedee route first, and branch out once i am finished with it. A lot of the charm from the first game came from the consequences of your choices, but it is important for me to focus on one route at a time to produce consistent results. I will not release a demo until you are able to reach the second and maybe even third weight stage, but i have made images as proof of concept, and a view of a menu that is already functional ingame.

I’m currently also doing university stuff irl, so i am somewhat busy, but i’ve been able to squeeze in a bit of time for working on it every day. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the project i would suggest putting them here and i will discuss them to the best of my ability.

Happy you decided to make your own page on this. I have checking in on the other page to see your progress. Keep it up :black_heart:

Color me interested, But curious, outside of the designs, what will be different between this and fill me up?

i’m not really a big fan of the “3D ren’py model visual novel” games, but this one actually looks really appealing. i’m a big fan of how the models look so far!

I think it would be easier to say what is similar - the menus, the “gameplay” and the scenario will be similar. The story and images will start to be somewhat reminicent of fillmeup (as in similar looking, obviously not the same), but will branch out once the first few weight stages are met, and be a lot more different.

I appreciate it! This is the first time i ever used blender, so those words are encouraging. It will improve even further as i get used to blender, get better at sculpting, posing etc.

As for the current progress, the intro is finished. I am now doing all of the starting weight interactions. Once i have made the interactions, images and code for the second stage, i may consider releasing a demo, though i would personally prefer to do so once i have the third stage done.

Pretty damn impressive for a first time attempt, imo it looks a lot better than the cookie cutter koikatsu or virt-a-mate models

I’m so damn hyped for this. I always find myself coming back to the og cause no game has done role reversal better than it. I look forward to what you got cooking!

I am also trying out hdri for outdoor areas. Trying to improve on sculpting musculature as well. Here is a little look!

This character is yoko. Both her and the main character were racing rivals - though yoko never managed to beat her. She’s probably not bitter about it…

I am so in for this idea. I really loved the character dynamics and story telling of the fillmeup and the gain mechanics was also nicely integrated to the story, making it pretty good. If this gets anywhere in the same direction this will be a great game!

A little tip for the branching story writing. It’s okay to start with one route, but I would suggest you should map out the big story points of the game first for other routes too as a draft to make sure all paths are at least somewhat plausible. It doesn’t need to be detailed one and this could be more like work map for yourself. In my experience there is otherwise a change that once you have finished the first path you may run in to annoying restrictions while figure out other paths later.

I’ll try to keep that in mind! That being said, that is still a long ways off. Thanks regardless though!
