RogueWeight - Jam Edition

RogueWeight [0.1.1] - Mobile Port Patch

Hey everybody! Nothing major content-wise, this is just a patch to implement a couple of other features that were kinda requested for:

Added mobile support!

  • An .apk download has been provided for offline play on Android devices

  • Mobile compatibility for the in-browser version may or may not come later; implementation is proving to be a fickle, will probably give an update once judging is over

Added a cheat code to make chest growth from drinking milk persistent even after sleeping:

  1. To activate, begin at the start menu

  2. Enter the code

    • if on desktop, input the Konami code (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a)

    • if on mobile, pinch the screen with two fingers >:3

  3. if done successfully, the word “Milky!” should show up at the top left

    • inputting the same code again in the menu will toggle the cheat off

The window name has been properly renamed to “RogueWeight” and not “Grasp Descension” (the original working title I had)

  • Unfortunately, this means desktop saves from 0.1.0 will not automatically be loaded into the 0.1.1 version (but you aren’t missing out on too much if you don’t feel like downloading it)

  • If you still really want to play on an old save, search the %appdata%/Godot/app_userdata directory, find the “Grasp Descension” folder, and then copy the “saveV0-1-0.dat” file over to the “RogueWeight” folder

As usual, the previous versions will be still be listed on the game page.

I consider this to be a good stopping point for developing this jam entry (for real this time). I plan to eventually develop this game into a full version in the future, but for now, I’m just working on a few side projects to help diversify my content a bit.

In any case, thank you again for playing RogueWeight!

For some reason,i keep crashing after i press anywhere(after the game loads,at the menu)I think this is only for mobiles. Also, the game is really good, can have big potential with updates

JUDGES’ VERDICTS:

A fine dungeon crawler all around! Being able to eat the walls proved an interesting little twist and it’s never not fun to be an all-consuming monster by the end of things. An all-round solid entry.

Actually one of my fav games of the jam but I gotta be unbias lol. The gameplay is solid and the character is adorable~ It’s ‘puppet’ is also exceptionally well made! I honestly loved watching it jiggle lol. My only real compliaint is I’m not sure how far the theme goes here? I’m just assuming it was to do with the rogue-like design?
