Some Bullshit - Stuffing Focused RPG Maker Game

Very nice! Also, who is Pro kicking?

Thatā€™s absolutely amazing, mate.

Only criticism is that Claraā€™s been stated on multiple occurances to beā€¦ ā€˜thiccā€™, but thatā€™s just me favouring the young Inquisitor and desiring to see more of her. Seriously, great work.

Not to dwell on the point too much, but this is conflating two different issues. One being the false impression presented to the player of there being two distinct playstyle paths (ā€œPureā€ and ā€œGluttonā€) and the second being gated content - one of which the game will persistently remind you of.

Without resorting to the nuclear option of rewriting the beginning segments to do away with the decisions altogether, both of these can be fixed without the need for drastic measures. A suggestion for the former point I raised back here.
As for the latter, for the gated items maybe just make them available at a later date (the Azh Robat bazaar could be a good place to buy them). The gated scene is trickier, so if it canā€™t be cleverly worked in, at least removing the memory crystal wonā€™t be a constant missing reminder to the player.

I think leaving the rewards themselves gated is fine. That adds a bit of variety to playstyles. I agree though that it would feel better if route-specific crystals were removed on the opposing route, or speaking more optimistically, perhaps the very act of failing them later on enables a replacement scene that would come to reside in the same crystal. In the glutton case, just having that one thing left uncheckable hurts the completionist in me.

Yeah, the items and abilities Iā€™m not really bothered about compared to the locked scene. I donā€™t want this to sound like a whinge, like I want to have my cake and eat it too, I just find it a questionable design decision to have replayable content locked over an innocuous decision made in game. If the game is going to compel everyone playing with the relevant foreknowledge to select the ā€œcorrectā€ choice then something doesnā€™t feel right there.

Drew a quick Emmie sketch a few days ago while warming up. Hope yā€™all enjoy!

One way I could see fixing this is expanding on the glutton ā€œvariationā€ of the scene, and having it so the same crystal is there, but it calls the version you took, OR it enables you to choose which path you ā€œtookā€, like with the buffet one. In that, even if youā€™ve been pure glutton, you can pick the ā€œIā€™ve been pureā€ option. Just extend that to this scene and any others in the future, and it should work wonders

Is there a mac version?

This is probably one of the best RPG maker fetish games Iā€™ve played in a while! Only up to the skiing lodge and Iā€™ve had a blast so far.

Small question though- back in the fishing town in the warehouse, after Emilia finishes with the food there, the text box said something along the lines of ā€œlearned to not put things to wasteā€. Is there something in the nearby area that has to do with that, like with the belch ability?

Ah no, that is just the little post that shows you got a gluttony point. All the points when you get it have a line like that. Donā€™t think too much on it, not a big significant change.

No, I have not made a Mac version, I am not sure how to support it.

Oh, so THATā€™s what those little messages were.

So I remember downloading this around when you first put it up here on weightgaming and played it for a bit but then kinda forgot about it. Iā€™ve recently come back around to playing it and I gotta say Some Bullshit is really something special. I love the main characters, the humor you spread throughout the game, the interesting scenarios and encounters!

And the new drawn character portraits??? And the little pop-up illustrations that appear during scenes? Plus the replay/art collection is just damn gold my friend. Iā€™ve been playing through from the beginning since like last week or so and I just love discovering all these new pieces of art. The name of the artist escapes me but I absolutely love the work they did, adds a wonderful new element to the game. Needless to say I am pretty pumped for the next update!

He is my first player, and the first commenter on the thread! @clinko_clinko has done all the hard work in improving the beginning of the game and all thanks go to him.

I just found a softlock.
The rope bridge Clara ties during the early Jungle segment.
If you approach the post to hop on from the sides, the game breaks and you end up stuck in a wall.
Exhibit A for constantly saving and rotation between slots. Good habit to build.

Iā€™m kinda stuck on the goblin beer marketing quest. I canā€™t seem to figure out where the sixth location is at. I went back to Schalehafen, did Wippsbruck of course, bierbrunnan, Nordenhaven. I know for sure Iā€™ve done five, this last one is being really sneaky for me though.

I think this is the definitive list (though please correct me if Iā€™m mistaken). Six beer marketing points available thus far:

Waldhirsch - drinking contest
Schalehafen - beer marketing minigame
Wippsbruck - automatically obtained through completion of skiing races
Capital - ā€˜Beer Deliveryā€™ quest
Nordenhaven - ā€˜Find a Mixerā€™ quest
Rebhuhm Island - ā€˜Ainā€™t No Lawsā€¦ā€™ quest

I donā€™t recall if you get one from Bierbrunnan, but I might be wrong.

I completely forgot about Waldhirsch, jeez. Thanks for that list!

And with that, Iā€™ve cleared all of the currently available content.
Good fucking shit. Yā€™all did a great job.

Small list of things that hover between criticisms and gripes and general comments.

  1. I was facing a bit of a cash drought by the end. ended up cleaning out most of my savings when the capital shops stocked with so many new items, but with little opportunity to actually use most of the food. Nearly couldnā€™t do the Spa and get that Helmet for Pro in the shop of Wonders in the desert town.
  2. Combat feels like itā€™s dragging down slightly? I dunno. I think itā€™s that the movesets have kinda stabilized, so you already have a set go to to do if you want to clear a fight. Itā€™s a good thing combat isnā€™t the end all be all of stuff you need to do to progress otherwise itā€™d be a much bigger issue
  3. On the pure/glutton route complaints, I think a good place to start would be dealing with the fact that the gameā€™s description itself assigns a good deal of importance to it. Maybe tweak it slightly, since that combined with the early game stuff set an expectation, as it is.
  4. Not really important, but something I kinda just realized at one point. Thereā€™s a point where I noticed how the character portraits would start flipping between these rougher ones, and the really nice looking ones. Compare the neutral portrait used in the game inventory menu and some of the dedicated expressions, youā€™ll notice real quick. Probably something to be put at the dead bottom of the list, tbh.

uhhhhh. yeah think thatā€™s all for that.
There were some events I wish I could rewatch but not big enough to dedicate an entire crystal to, which is a shame (that bloatfruit scene was incredible).
GAME FUN. GIRLS CUTE (yes, even Heidi.)

Hmm, thatā€™s the exact opposite of what I had. I havenā€™t had to worry about money at all during my playthrough.
