As someone who only just saw these messages 8 days after they were posted, wouldn’t it have been a good idea to edit/remove the initial comment that spoiled stuff out of respect for the dev’s words?

Maybe only site admins can remove comments, but I am not sure. Oh, or we can just ask a person who wrote a comment to delete it.

Eh, cat’s out of the bag now, I don’t think deleting it is going to change anything at this point. I’m a bit less distraught now, still a little annoyed but I’m not going to deviate from my road map because of this.
If people want to dig around and find the half baked stuff it’s not like I can stop them without incoveniencing myself. As long as the only people getting spoilers are the ones seeking them out then I can’t be too upset, despite my opinions in the matter.

I think there is a lot of people like me who don’t even read any comments here and just open thread to check if there is posts from developer or new version of game. I hate spoilers and never participate in beta testing of games, because it ruins the pleasant surprises during gameplay process. So, after reading your comment as a developer, I didn’t even bother to look up the feed to find out what happened there. I am also sure that many users do not open a thread at all until they see changes in the title like “New update/version is out”

Been enjoying the game for a long while, and been a lurker on the thread. My only issue is a few game balance things. for example, while rare, it can happen. Where a massive amounts of slime’s just completely destroy all energy production. When that happens it is a bit, painfully slow to recuperate.

My second issue is with the flying slime type. (the one that spawns more below) which often evades lasers. But then when you build up higher, it also goes up higher. So there really isn’t any good automated way of dealing with that type.

And my last issue (this one is actually really annoying) slimes destroy platforms first, then the tile infront of them. So you could have a barrier trying to block damage, and instead the slime destroys the backround layer.

That’s it really, happy about the work, always fun to come back every so often to see how the project is growing.
Edit:
Also I think someone else may of mentioned this. if not. the reactors in general need a bit of an adjustment. (their numbers are just… realllly off)

If the idea is that each building overall should be an overall upgrade from another.

There is zero reason to build a fusion reactor mk3. like from cost of building, down to how many crystals it uses per second, down to energy. It’s not worth it.
So… I have an idea… make the early tier reactors, less efficient. As in, they use more crystals. While the bigger ones use less crystals. and instead of doing 1 3 and 6. Do 4, 3, 2.
The idea being the bigger ones are more efficient at using their power source, offsetting the insane amount of material to build. (seriously, tier 3 reactor cost is genuinely insane.)

This also prevents the energy reactor being the end all be all for the energy economy in the game. (because right now you kinda got an awkward situation. two mk2s cost substantially less than a mk3, and together produce more energy than a mk3, for the same consumption.
The overall size of the mk3 should be the deterrent. and for the mk1 and mk2, it’s the crystal consumption)

New update, mostly rebalancing enemies but there’s an actual end to the game as well! Nothing fancy yet, but it’s a start.

The reactor’s main upgrade between versions being efficiency is definitely an interesting idea, I’ll have to play around with that and see how it feels. As for the slimes, having the slimes destroy platforms placed on top of walls is intentional, I wanted to encourage more of a tiered defense against the slimes. That also leads into the flying enemies, with building plaforms with weapons a little farther back dealing with flyers that attack the first line of defenses. At least in theory, I’m still tracking down a bug that makes them go after back line stuff that’s higher up sometimes.

Glad you are back on this, i gave it a try for around 3 hours but no matter any combination of weapons and shields in front, i couldnt clear the simple waves even with myself supporting the defense as i would always lose some pieces. The slimes are now strong and relentless. I was hoping to try and go for the ending but i will probably wait from tips of others or maybe some adjustments.as i need to get some sleep. Thank you for your work.

I also have a question Which defense can handle the flying slimes none of them seemed to work.

I can’t lie, the slimes are so powerful in this update that they’re getting me a little mad. I can’t even set up a simple little base without them coming in every 5 minutes and sweeping the whole thing clean. Even a single one of those tiny slimes can come in and wipe out both my solar panels in 3 seconds

The fortified barriers have become genuinely useless… The slimes just slice through it like hot butter

Yeah played a little and before I could walk away and not have to babysit a fortified barrier now have to run over when it starts getting hit and even then it can die before I get there. I feel like a rule of thumb in a game like this is to make sure whatever damage buff an enemy gets should be checked versus the sustain of a defense tower. As it is right now sustain is at its lowest and the slimes health and attack increase has made at least early game a slog in a different way. Either the attack increase needs to be dropped or barriers need a big health boost

I face such a problem that every time I start to heal the left or right side. Slime spawns in different places and this hinders progress. I did everything I could, I put up protection and weapons, but every time the slugs spoil one of the sides

this is despite the fact that I haven’t started to carry out the rear concerns about protecting the radio

I have a similar problem. The slimes attacks too fast and they shred my defenses before I can really get set up. I just learned steam power but I don’t have enough time to rebuild before a slime horde breaks everything.

I had to take a save where I was able to complete the dungeon, but due to the frequent spawning of slugs it is impossible to contain it

It wasn’t easy, but I got through it :+1:

Amazing update
I love the Radio Tower Part, Running back and forth across the map building barricades, healing structures and having to grab resources from the drills was amazing and very satisfying when I finally make it

Also you can pass the radio tower part just by pausing the game, easy victory.
I discovered it unintentionally XD

And for those who have problems with slimes, I recommend having the defenses something like this.

It is still necessary to go and repair things sometimes, but it will be very difficult for them to destroy it.

I started a setup like this with one floor but gave up once the flying ones dropped like 15 small slimes and destroyed the top in an instant, did they stayed below and got blasted with a second floor? I will try and copy this if it worked to give a bit of breating room.

The flyers are going to try to get to the highest floor, but I never saw they manage to get out of range, But just in case I’m going to try to make another floor later
