Spacethumper 2

Gave it another go while doing a second floor(3rd floor if you dont count ground floor) and it worked wonders for regular waves, the flying slime gets between floors and it lasered as it should. I didnt need to be there most of the time but i still needed to go and build the walls again because they get completely destroyed. I would say, a buff to the walls would help a lot to make this a bit more chill.

I got the ending and got a code, tough im not sure where to use it, any tips would be appreciated as im not much savvy if its something you need to input in command lines or something like that.

I havent returned to the caves as i did them when they were first implemented and if its related to that, i will try and get there again.

I made it a little easier, I just didn’t fight with ordinary slime, only with flying slugs.

Enemy balancing, turns out when you play the game a lot for testing you get better at it than most folks, woops! This should hopefully make things more reasonable in the slime department.

You’re amazing, Chubberdy! Thanks for the hotfix

oh cool, I’ll know about this place

Where do I use the reward for beating the game?

I’m going to give it a few days for people to figure it out before I drop a hint on that here.

First off I’ll start with sorry and how disrespectful I am 2 weeks ago, second now about the new update:
The balancing and end to it are great imo, I’m still mald about the blue slime ever since, as always start the new save(a just in case thing whenever a dev dropping a new update because I’m worried about errors in a different version saves.) apparently quickly before initiate to the cave, I was able to switch to another character and save because I was going to do other things, but turns out it softlocks the game to continue to the cave so making all 3 characters being in their max weight stage won’t cause the sequence, and I can freely change the character without it initiate the sequence but that also means I’m stuck in early game. Overall I love the new update and again sorry for doing something moronic 2 weeks ago.

Thank you for this new update, it allowed me to finish again on a new save and cut some time, there is still some challenge with the scanning part but it felt fair to do.

I also had the problem that if you finish first the long range teleporter but dont build it and decide to go to the caves, you lose it forever, radio tower says scanned but it doesnt show to build it. I went back on another save and did it in order and was able to leave the planet with max weight on everyone.

I understand wanting people to try different stuff to find regarding the code and im up for it as well, i have been exploring some of the places more now since its easier to control the slimes but can i ask you if its something inside the game to find? Im fine trying to find chicken on a wall or staying still in some specific corner of the game or some konami code.

Damn, I thought the event system was robust enough to stand up to the cave sequence, I’ll have to look into those bugs for the next update. As for the code, it is entirely within the game. No editing the save files or anything of that nature is required to use it.

After new update got a feeling that game went from easy mode to nearly impossible difficulty. Before update 3 laser turrets and 1 energy shield was enough to hold slimes infinetly but now they have a lot of hp and comes in massive hordes. Because of that energy shield now became useles because amount of slimes that attack simultaneously is so big that regen just cant keep up. Would be nice to rework energy shield maybe give it an ability to overload hp over time to prevent instant destruction and also would be nice to make energy accumulator upgraded version that could dispence energy in its radius to make arc generators viable beacuse now their attack radius is pretty smal and providing energy to it is vasting so much space that can be occupied by other turrets. Even with this controversial slime change this update is bonkers! Still searching a place where i could enter a code but seems that this building/place is so well hidden that i couldnt find it anywhere on surface or undergroud so i just gave up.

After checking out, apparently leaving the game after the radio tower scan, it removes the blueprint for long range teleporter so if you didn’t craft it somewhere; it’ll be lost forever as you can’t scan with the radio tower anymore. I already doom my save file for redoing the ending so it will be off putting as another restart on progress but I’ll be keeping the save and at least I’ll get to do something better by making another setup for taking out the slimes reliably and sustainably.

Going to share here what i have been trying so maybe others can share their ideas or to not do as i did so they can focus on other ways to try and find the place for the code. Also sharing a funny GIF.

  • I have been trying to use the beam on every single tile in the caves (cant say i have been torough as there are a lot of them but i think i tried most and no change, unless you need to find a specific one and be there a long long time on it
  • Tried using Pilot as the biggest bomb ever, sending her at max weight from a high place against the ground, at the starter area and the cave, havent been able to do it from the highest place in the cave but i dont think distance would be the major factor
  • Built elevators on the leftmost and rightmost side of the map (Starter and caves) and went to the top of them and phased trough the map, no secret room as well

My theory is that has to be something in the caves since you see spots that look open to use but could be just for asthetic purposes as caves would have small open spaces i guess
If only the walls were edible and we could do a Diner Miner in there xD

Also, become WIDE
This happens if i keep pressing up on the left side of some elevators, also if i go to the right side and climb, when i go left, i fall from the elevator

I’m trying this again after a long time and the slimes are definitely harder. I like they have some unit variety now, but I don’t really have my head around the defence planning yet.

My big problem is I don’t have a clear idea of ranges (maybe a circle to indicate it like the accumulator would be handy?) and how the energy costs work out seem to make it hard to pack defences very densely.

I finally have the energy accumulator unlocked and tried to get fancy with a multi-storey defensive structure but the slimes just stomped all over it. Maybe if they didn’t target walls it might make rebuilding less onerous? Or make some structures a bit tougher? A fortified reactor for example with lower output but higher toughness would be a lifesaver in a pinch.

A structure to warn you of incoming attacks might be interesting too.

As it stands the slimes are not very interactive since either you have enough energy to hold them off or they smash up a lot of the base. That’s not too bad as resources get pretty easy to restock and it encourages you to build in buffer zones, but it would be nice to feel a little more in control.

Oh and I forgot to mention, love the bits of dialogue!

After some tinkering with defences I got the ending! I figured out the bonus after some thinking about a place I could put in that code too.

While my defenses never quite felt perfect, I felt the radio station bit was a good challenge: I managed it on my first try. Those gauss guns help a lot when the slimes are stacked up. Something I only realised right at the end though is some of my turrets were getting their firing arcs blocked by the platforms.

Grats on finding it then, i have been scratching my head for hours and not getting it, probably overthinking it by this point. Was it something easy to get or its a bit of process to reach?

I don’t want to give it away but for ease of access it’s something you can easily do even at the start of the game and for another hint think about where you can input letters.

You’re overthinking it, it’s not something ā€œhardā€
