Nice, loving the update so far, thank you for the work! One thing I think could be added to the game, either via dialogue with the characters themselves or SEN, is I know there are mechanical differences between the characters. They were elaborated on by you at one point in this thread in the past, but as far as I can tell that information isn’t anywhere in the game itself.

Yeah the tip given before saved me because i expected something else and never used that specific thing before, so i never went in that direction and tried to find something completetly different while playing.

I still have absolutely no idea where I can use the codes I have even restarted to see if that would work… I’m stomped

See the comment from Layremumu, it helped me a lot, if its something you can right after you start a game, the options of what can be done decrease a lot.

I also found out there seems to be another code, i thought about putting a 6 letter word that would mean what most of us would like to see happen to the characters in the future and it worked. Tough you wont notice a difference if you dont have a bar to fill.

Am I just really dumb or something lol? I have tried everything, looked every nook and cranny, went to new game and tried everything quite literally everything, there’s is nothing that allows you to type or input words in the game.

I even looked at the discussions and advice of everyone here which basically boiled to “It’s something you can do from the get go and that it’s easy” which doesn’t say anything of substance more than the game itself said. I’ve been searching for 4 hours and I’m becoming more unhinged by the second.

When i asked the dev if it was something in game, i went trough the same line of thinking, expecting it to be something interactable in the gameplay itself but it isnt, i will say its not something in the gameplay of the game itself but is still inside the game and you have easy access to it, think of what you are using to type your messages here and connect it with something inside the game of the same way. If you cant still find it i guess i can DM you but i would prefer for the Dev to give the okay or themselves to give a better hint than i can give.

I think I figured it out? So I was looking at the wrong place all this time. Though my question is, what changes or how can you notice the change? I input the code and nothing seem to happen. You can DM me about the details so we don’t spoil anything. That’s the last thing I would want for other users.

I’m gonna sound like such a goober, but is it possible to play (and complete) this without getting the male character fat (or better yet a sprite where they are a female). I’m not into dudes, but I really liked the first one and everything about this game looks sick.

Also good to see recent activity on this game.

Yup, it’s even possible to play through the whole game as only one character, though they do each have their own mechanical benefits.

i really enjoyed the game and herd about the secret code. i am stumped about whare to input the code, as the hint from other people is that “its at the start of the game” but ware at the start of the game? is it in the main menu or when you press “new game”?

I also can’t figure out where to enter this. I tried everything, different places, character dialogues, the construction menu, even in the game menu. I can’t figure out where he is

at most I got to the end and saw the name of the code, and then I have no idea

If you do it from the main menu, you wont see it take effect, you need to do it while inside the game.

I finally figured out where you need to go to input the cheats.

Clever, very clever.

Managed to beat the patch after a ~7-hour save, had fun for the most part. Wasn’t particularly playing for speed, but also wasn’t intentionally lingering where i didn’t need to except in terms of maxing everyone’s size before starting the radio gauntlet. May as well leave my thoughts here…

My Progression & defenses rambling... wall of text here.

Ended up doing my usual thing of fast-tracking to max size capacity before focusing anything else. On the surface Dax’s mining speed meant i never really felt like i needed to bother with autominers until extreme crystal costs came into play, but it all flipped on its head after the cavefloor broke while i was swapping Tauma for someone else, and before i had a lot of other upgrades and final researches… not having the superdrone and also being unable to swap down there, plus disabled solars & half-power winds, basically meant everything was dictated by steam vents and crystal bottlenecks as i had to research the teleporter hub and upgrade from Hammerspace-1 to Hammerspace-5 get back out.

The main roadblock was learning good defensive lines that were strong enough to fend off large slimewaves that didn’t require fusion reactors… i hadn’t figured it out by the time i got dropped into the 2nd caves so there was a lot of trial and error there. The right side was eventually handled cleanly by a pair of ARC 2’s surrounding the pit below, since if i used myself to drain a generator & disable one i could desync them to stunlock the entire wave and manually repair the fortified barriers as needed.

The upperleft, though? You REALLY don’t want that upperleft spawn point to break through! The varied jump angles of slimes coming off that platform means they can target 4-5 areas at once if they do; the flying slime-droppers take the giant crystal platform, pink longjumpers can land on the platform below it and continue to the lower-right rock platform afterwards, greens and greys can hit the leftmost lower platform, and everything else sweeps the floor. If they weren’t stuck trying to hit things on platforms above them multiple times from the floor, i’dve had at least 4 catastrophic wipes. Still had a few half-wipes from either not having enough energy to actively repair once i got up there, or having too much energy which makes the elevator ride from floor to defense even slower than it already was. Not hemorrhaging energy by only hitting up at certain points of the elevator ride was relevant at one point!

Once i finally got back to the surface, i was able to use what I learned to far better effect with solars & winds being effective again and clear the radio tower gauntlet without any real trouble by bouncing back and forth between sides to repair or replace fortified barriers as needed.

For context, these are what my defenses looked like visually at the end of their respective sections.

Screenshot and even more word ahoy~

There’s a few optimizations i could do that i now notice (replace the lower Solar-2s with Wind-2s to allow a Gauss-2 on the surface but i hadn’t unlocked that at the time, use an accumulator to inch the left ARC-2 in the stun pit a tile closer if i wanted to spare the crystals)… but ultimately i didn’t need em.

Other than all that and a few minor wrong-color bugs in the dialog text (Captain first scanning w/ the radio gets a white-text line), i noticed 3 noteworthy bugs… or maybe more accurately 1 bug on 2 different dialogs but worse on one than the other, and one extremely nasty reappearance of an elevator bug from earlier patches i think?

  • After i got the dialog where Dax asks how Tauma is holding up, it would replay that chat every single time i re-entered the caves, making an extended 7+ textbox affair if i ever wanted to switch from Dax to Tauma or back.

  • Similarly timed, if Dax and the Captain talked i would get ~1-3 frames of an empty dialog box before it disappears and i can switch them as normal, and this would also reset if i re-entered the caves. I assume there’s an actual dialog thats supposed to play there but isn’t.

  • The big one: At one point while i was using gravity in the purple caves to get down faster, the pseudo zip that ends up kinda looking like bouncing off the floor ended up spawning me at what I think was the exact height and moment that an elevator was passing one of its floor height thresholds, and i ended up stuck on it unable to move. I legitimately thought i was softlocked until about a minute later, where i suddenly regained all the sideways momentum i had and slid off.

Maybe these were blocking off seeing later chats, maybe not.

Great game loving it, well all of it and cant wait to see it fully finished.
And also can anyone tell me how to find where i go to use the secret cause i cant for the life of me figure it out from the vague sentences.

I guess it’s been long enough to give a more concrete hint. There’s exactly one place in the game where you can input text, and it can be accessed anywhere, at any time.

Oh thats a helpful hint but uh i still have no idea where that is cause i never seen anywhere to input text, sorry for being a bother about it

Can i ask you what inspired you to make your cheat system like this? Was it an idea from some other game? I havent seen anything like it and had a lot of trouble finding because my mind went trough so many other possibilities and by never seeing one like this i never associated such a thing to be possible, i wouldnt be able to find it without help of others and because i expected it to be tied more to the gameplay but its behind a system that many dont even access it their entire playtrough. Also some games overwrite it if you put a second letter in that kind of system.

This is to say i find it very creative and this method will be now seared into my mind as a possibility if i ever see another dev making an hidden cheat system but you might need to give another style of hints to help out.

Oh do mind if i ask how do you access this
