I think i finally got the best route possible for 100% but before i get back to attempting them again, I’ve been working on a custom sprite of my fursona, it probably could look better but I’m not very experienced with pixel art, so this is the best i got, hopefully it’s good enough
I’m 3/5th of the way done regarding sprites, i should be able to get them done this weekend and I’ll be using them for the speedrun recording, see you by then!
Edit: Woops i realized i just posted a “beta” version of the sprite, oh well, the only thing different from the final one is that i improved how his (i guess it’s “her” now) hands look.
Nope, the first prestige is the one that actually matters, the main reason infinite prestiging is a thing is because it was really easy to add in for those that just wanted BIG.
The 100% speedrun has been completed! I gave a couple details about the run on the video description but tl:dr, the best strategy for this run is to get the crystal miners and their upgrades as soon as possible, then play the game normally since you’ll be doing progress faster than the miners themselves and then press exit on the teleporter the moment you have enough crystal and borderline the highest tier to get the chunkiest ending for the lowest crystal cost possible.
Since this run is more slow paced by nature, it is a good opportunity to show all the parts of my custom skin, it isn’t too impressive but I’m glad i got to work on it since I’ll be serving me as a stepping stone to learn more about pixel art, something I’ve always been a fan of but not very good at doing it myself, this gave me some ideas as to what generally looks pleasant and what doesn’t. Sorry again for that small sprite oversight, it has been fixed already and i hope it doesn’t distract you from the run much.
My next and probably final Speedrun in case no one contestes it will be the “true ending” one (the one that you get after doing prestige twice or more), which will probably be more interesting but also considerably harder to route, let’s see what i can get from it.
personally. I would add the prestiges add energy collection range. size 1 only the tile your one. size 2 3 tiles, size 3 5 tiles note I am counting tiles in both directions separately.
Still working on the HD pack! Had a bit of a hiccup with life stuff, but hopefully I can get back to it more consistently now. All I’ve got left to do is the last 5 stages and the end screens. Here’s a shot of the portraits, featuring PMD inspired backgrounds.
@Chubberdy would it be too much to ask for a debug mode for viewing the sprites ingame? It gets a little bit tedious testing each weight stage to make sure the sprites are aligned, and I imagine it would be even more so for the end screens and dialogue portraits.
Still trucking along on the HD pack. The larger Protagonist gets, the slower my progress goes. Such is the disadvantage of having such a growth spurt, I suppose…
Current progress: it’s done lol scroll down
As a sidenote, would it be possible to modify the other sprites in the game such as the ground, the ship, the buildings, etc, or are only the protagonist and Sen supported? I may go back and touch up the buildings and the ship once I’m done with everything else.
@titanxkillerxhunter
In addition to adding shading, I’m tweaking some facial expressions at higher weight stages. This is a frame from one of the running animations, so she’s having to lift quite a lot- hence the strained expression.
