Spacethumper

Okay,
Not sure how far you’ve gotten. Just spitballing here.
Giving Feedback,
I would like to see a before story Images Shots that would Explain how they Crashed with a fade in and a fadeout.

And would love a simple Face expression when ever a “Action” can happen.
ALSO when Idle or walking a Blink Animation would be nice. (By choice a breathing animation as well)

With that a inbetween or tweens maybe 1 to 2 frames of squash/pump frames before and after a decrease or increasement in body size.

During a conversation face+body expressions would also be nice.
Including the Computer companion.

Last maybe some visual (lightly) wind flowing.

Glitch or bug
I’ve encountered a slime floating right above my characters head after I put down 4 lvl 3 wind solars as if that was the floor lvl.

I don’t know if it’s intended but it said I need 12,000 of suit increasement but couldn’t get up that high. I think I stopped a lil over around 7500.

Thank you so much for your reply back. I appreciate your time.

Would like to see more. =]
I’m also on DA name is “caleb157”
If your interested.

Played this for the first time yesterday, very neat concept. The character animations are great!

I know it’s been mentioned before, but being able to spend energy to speed up machines would be nice - I ended up not grabbing the last few suit upgrades and just leaving the game idling because I needed to save up for capacity upgrades. Adding a resource other than crystals for some upgrades and machines might help too?

It’s a bit tricky to tell what’s around the character at large sizes - I know there’s the top left indicator but it’d be nice to have a button to turn the character sprite transparent or show the outline of items behind her.

Looking forward to seeing where you go with this.

You need to build a suit upgrade station, and upgrade capacity/elasticity. The final level pushes it into something like 23,000 capacity. Not sure what enables building it, though - I just stumbled on it while trying to build something else, after researching everything else I cared to up to that point.

The game has a highlighting feature already, where the section you’re able to influence/interact with is highlighted. You can’t see most things past her at larger sizes, sure…but, unless you somehow forgot what was on that space in the time it took her to waddle-plod over it, it should be enough to let you work on things without issues. Unless something in particular isn’t working like everything else (I don’t remember if I got an answer about being able to fix the ship, and if the bar was misbehaving), anything you actually need to see beyond ‘where is it’ shows past your model.

How exactly? I’m at the point where the suit upgrade station won’t let me increase my capacity anymore and I’m only at ~7900. Are you playing on a different version of the game? I’m using 0.4.1.

Hey, is there any way to cheat/debug mode this game? I love this little alien becoming a not-so-little alien but the crystals take FOREVER.

Just made an account to start posting, just want to say I absolutely love this little game, but it gets pretty tough when the slimes manage to get through my defenses and just trample my base, otherwise this is a ton of fun, can’t wait to see what else you do with this!

Cheat Engine works. Once you find the address where crystal quantity is stored, you can just set it to 20K and forget it.

I’m using the same version. I honestly am not sure what I must have done, so that I can suggest it. I’d check if you have anything else you can still upgrade, besides the suit. The station, the crystal mining device, power generation? Maybe other parts of the suit? I’m not sure if there needs to be certain levels in other parts of the suit before you can progress it.

Oh, here’s a question - have you let yourself get to your current max size yet. It might have been connected to a scripted event at max size.

Is there no ending yet? I’ve reached the maximum limit of 7000~ something energy and have bought the ship repair from the research station, but nothing else is happening.

I’ve upgraded every part of the suit, done all the research, and built and upgraded every possible building. I’ve also been to the max size several times in the process, since towards the end it’s easier to fill yourself up all the way and pour energy into the crystal miner to get the last few upgrades.

(as a sidenote, there is something extremely satisfying about hooking yourself up to three maxed fusion reactors at once)

I do not know. Some of the things I did I just feel like I stumbled on.

Also, I absolutely concur about the maxed fusion reactors. They’re not much to look at, but those babies have got the juice. It’s made even better by having the ability to be affected by three at once, but also having them everywhere, so movement literally cannot tick down your bar - heck, sometimes building and upgrading new things don’t even seem to lower the bar at all. ‘And such is your fate, now’.

Weird. Would you mind posting some screenshots of your setup so I can see if I missed anything? (should probably put em in spoilers if you’re at max weight)

I tried that but whenever I change the value, it just resets back to what it was.

I could maybe try to get back to that point, but I never saw a way to save. If there’s something I stumbled upon the first time, I might not manage it the second playthrough.

That said, maybe I’m misremembering. All I am sure of is that I got the suit upgraded enough to finish the project to repair the ship (even if I had no apparent means to do so).

No build for this update, but robuttshcei over on twitter has graciously composed some great music for Spacethumper! Also check out the rest of their stuff, their visual art is amazing as well.

Fantastic track! For the early game for sure it fits really well.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but it would be nice as you get bigger for the music to reflect this also. Shifting for a more laboured tempo, heavier bass and fatter sounding synths?

As it so happens they’ve given me each instrument as it’s own track for the express purpose of more filling in as the player gets bigger! So not too far off.

That was thoughtful of the chap. Kudos to Scheister!

Ha, nice! Never thought of layered music in a weight game before but it totally fits the genre.

It gives me C418’s Minecraft vibes. Very chill.
