Yeah buying the game is literally no more difficult than pirating it. They prompt every necessary action. No puzzles.
Yeah, where i live i have to pay $40 to buy the game, then the bank takes some for the card use.
not everyone has easy access to money, and sometimes we just want to enjoy games too i plan on buying the game when i am financially stable but as for right now i’ll still rock a pirated version of the game.
I got it during the summer sale for $7, so I’d wait till like the winter or spring sale. If it does go on sale then.
I mean like it or not, being a pirated version has likely got to do with what the problem is. Some tidbit didn’t get updated or copied over properly, or something like that.
The Paypal is the problem. I tried signing my credit card on there, but it didn’t work.
No, the clothing expansion mod. If you have that, is the one that is causing Esther to not appear. And otherwise it seems like you really weren’t careful with your mod selection, or the removal of them either. You may have to start all over. The fact your pirated version is not up to date is likely also a problem.
I agree with this judgement
Uhm, hello? What fatray, and what npc specific feeding tube?
Either you didn’t check the store. Or you didn’t download the current version of the mod. (Which is not the one with the ui update, that’s coming soon) Check either of those.
- If you want on the server, you need the mods the server has.One thing that isn’t stated is that the owner has not updated the mod list due to inactivity. It is not running the current version of my mod. But regardless it is a 1.4 starbound version server. So you won’t be able to get on anyways because you pirated the game.
- If you ever plan on removing mods, you first have to ask if the mod is a massive overhaul that causes massive changes to everything in the vanilla game. If they are huge overhauls, your world and saves are pretty much gonna have to go with them. There’s no saving them.
If they’re not, you can take measures by removing items and objects associated with the mods you want to remove from your characters. This will help make sure there’s nothing that shouldn’t exist once you load them after cutting mods.
3.Yes storage is essentially the information of the worlds and characters you have. And there isn’t too much of a change between 1.3 and 1.4 that would cause a deletion like the transition to 1.0.
If steam is being a wank for some reason (spending money on steam hasn’t been a problem for me lol), perhaps try buying it on GOG instead; same game minus the DRM. Starbound on GOG.com
Don’t believe they’d be able to join if they got it on GOG due to the Workshop mods.
A good number of Workshop mods actually aren’t found elsewhere.
…and that is why Steam Workshop mod exclusivity is terrible and discourages competition by more consumer-friendly alternative platforms. There’s a nexus page for Starbound; sadly it’s not used much and still ‘in beta’ but it works and I hope peeps here use non-exclusive hosting systems where possible thank you for coming to my TED talk.
Except it’s not enforced at all? The Starbound mod forums are very active, and basically everything on that is on the Workshop. The Workshop is just convenient, that’s all. Which is why Steam is basically the best digital store; it has everything in one. Mods, deals, game library, news, achievements, etc.
Then ask the creators directly or get a copy from someone that does. There are ways to make it work. The cost of that convenience is DRM, a store swamped with fake games and hellish to navigate and devs giving over a quarter of their cash to valve.
Or just buy from say, humble.
there are quite a few people that know of a way to get mods from the workshop to other places that don’t have them.
On windows this is as simple as: going to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\211820 and there should be a place that looks like this:
each one of these numbers are the last bits of the link to the mod, so for example you subscribe to a mod from the SB workshop whose link ends in 90210, the file that would contain the essentials for the mods would be in a file labeled, “90210”
Then, drop it in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound - Unstable\mods (or just Starbound if you don’t have unstable).
Or I’m just blind. XD
I’ll check again.
This mod seems amazing but I haven’t played Starbound in years, how do i get this mod to work? Im not sure if there is a help topic but the game keeps crashing with the mod in the right folder. I’m not sure what im doing wrong
Did you check if it was the right folder? That’s usually a sign there’s a duplicate big fatties folder inside the one you placed in the mods folder. The correct one has the contents of mod laid bare when opening it.
Everything is working, except the fact i can’t gain weight and neither can anyone else…I updated everything too.
