Starbound Mod: Starpounds Big Fatties

True, but there should be a values in the game’s code that represents things like, for example, vertical movement. Based on the value the game then selects the correct jump/fall sprite. A similar value should exist for other actions. Thus if one where to overwrite the player sprite with a blank image, then make their own animation tree using these inputs, you should then be able to use your own animations (with length of your choosing) and add new ones.

Ultimately starbound isn’t that simple.

I see, that’s a shame. =~=;

Starbound, despite being a pretty good game, is held together with scotchtape and popsicle sticks and people who mod for it are crazy. Like for example, the dynamic backgrounds should be compressed, but they’re not. This causes slowdown on less powerful machines but it could literally be improved by just compressing them. That’s just one of the issues i know of, i’m not a modder, but if they fucked up something that simple i can bet it’s an absolute mess under the hood.

@DArcyOlla Players are rendered on a client-side basis, and there’s no way to hide the underneath player without hiding the entire sprite, or using clothing (in which case we’re back to square one). Trying to overlay the player with another sprite would just desync the animation times (especially on servers), not even accounting for the huge performance hit.

@fattyseaslug Parallaxes aren’t compressed because directives (image processing) is used to recolour them for different biomes; some of use cases might require direct pixel replacement (similar to clothing), so lossy compression isn’t an option.

Also erchius ghosts now fatten the player.

Oooh, I’m very much looking forward to this!~

Man, this mod has some quality work behind it! Also looking forward to the next version release!

Is there a way to make the Erchuis ghost’s particles go the other way? I think it would definately add to the effect.

Oooh yeah! That’d be a nice touch!

What is the diference between this mod and “mofFatties”)?

Mod Fatties is an addon people made to go alongside this mod that features various stuff.

I really love the fattening mechanics added to the vanilla game, like the mutants in the moon base and now the ghost.
I hope there’s eventually a randomly generated fattening dungeon, but perhaps that’s better left to the people at modFatties XD

Can someone help? I’m gaining weight for no reason…I think its because I used a blue print? Either way I wont stop gaining weight ;w;

okay, now it seems to be just happening at random times…

No Fatty Rework just yet, but enough changes to warrant an update in this downtime.

• Clothing name standardisation.
• Weight loss; occurs very slowly, and doesn’t provide benefits on it’s own. Will add items to speed it up in another WIP. Basically the ‘run/walk/jump and you lose weight’ part of the old digestion system.
• Digestion is much slower, and now controls how fast stomach contents turn into weight. Digestion boosts speed this up, and digestion heal restores health for weight gain, rather than weight loss.
• Large distilled digestion aid removed; Regular distilled digestion aid buffed.
• Digesting food now adds to the food meter.
• Toggle hitbox setting now merged with size effects.
• Thick thighs option added. Will treat the player’s legs as being one size higher.
• Expanding clothing no longer has it’s own interface; replaced with two slots at the bottom right of the interface.
• Treadmill causes you to lose weight faster.
• Five new sets for thick, chubster, and plump sizes. Pilot Set, Spacesuit Set, Santa Set, Cultist Set, and Moneybags Set
• Erchius Ghost is now capable of fattening players in its proximity.
• Some new liquids, only spawnable. As well as changing Erchius liquid fuel to be fattening.
• Chocolate Fountain can now be drank from, and a similar mechanic with a new cursed mirror.
• Purchasable box that’ll constantly fill itself with cake.

------------------ VORE CHANGES BELOW ------------------
• Eating NPCs/players now slowly fills the hunger meter.
Safe cap is how many NPCs/players you can eat and not have NPCs struggle out; going over the cap allows NPCs to struggle out again until you’re back under it. Increases by 1 every visual size increase (e.g. Extra Thick → Chubster), and is displayed in the vore menu.
Max cap is how many NPCs/players you can eat total. Increases by 1 every level. This value isn’t displayed.
• Energy cost added back; flat 25% of your energy, decreased the more damaged an NPC/player is.
• Regurgitated clothing now has 25% stats, no status effects, significantly reduced pixel value, is always common rarity, and has a green tint and small visual flair on the category.
• Digested NPCs no longer drop items.
• Small Critters are now capable of being vored. Maybe another time for normal monsters.

NOTE : Due to clothing name changes, LOTS of clothes may turn into perfectly generic items. You may crash the first time loading up into the character, but subsequent loads should be fine.
And another thing, the mod has been converted into a pak file to hopefully tone down confusion about how to install the mod. Now you’re not putting a folder into a folder, you’re putting the pak files into the mod folder.

Hello! As someone with the computer-file tampering confidence of a potato, how should I download the update? Do I need to remove the old mod files?
