Pretty sure branching options like that would double or triple the workload of the game. So, there are options to interact with the other girls, but I don’t think there will be the options like there are with Alice.
Yes not only do you have to restructure how the game works but then you have to add in renders for every Alice scene for two other girls. Plus redo any and all scenes that would normally have Alice in them for the other girls, per weight stage. It would atleast triple the size of the game.
A game like this to be done in multiple paths as @lycanrex is inquiring about would need to be much smaller in scale and less renders to probably afford a pathway for each girl. And have them interact a lot less or the amount of renders needed for each path would quickly bloat out of control.
@DrPepper and @Krodmandoon have hit the nail on the head. Every single image in the game is a complete render, most of which take at least a couple of hours to render (and some take a lot longer). And that’s not including the time I spend setting up the images.
To add the amount of content there currently is for Alice to Becca, for example, would add years to the development time, not to mention the size of the game. Even with compresed images, the filesize would be massive. And then I’d have to rewrite massive amounts of code and think up a completely new storyline. It’s a nice idea, but simply not feasible.
Whats the last free version to download?
As the thread title says, the links are in the first post
Just wanted to drop a comment of appreciation for the work you’ve put into the game so far man. I’m still relatively new to the site so please ignore me if the question is against the rules but i was wondering do you have a final vision of where the game will end? I know the demo has the stop point which i won’t spoil for new players but is the completed game going to go down the route that ending hints at?
Once again great work!
@alexgray15 Thanks ! Glad you liked it. And I’m prety sure it’s only against the rules to ask about when stuff is coming out, not what might be included
Sadly, as most on here will know, I’m an evil git who rarely gives anything away on what’s coming up… so I’ll just say that the answer is definitely maybe.
does evil tigger dance
haha! Fair enough mate either way can’t wait for the full release further down the line!
(Don’t tell anyone, but whilst some of the characters have their plot more or less fully worked out, I do make stuff dfor some of the other characters up as I go along, so I haven’t actually made any firm decisions for those characters yet…)
Personally, I like the places that are available and don’t think the game NEEDS more places, if new places will be added sure, nothing wrong with that, but the places never really get boring because of the way the game works
Since you don’t so sprites and only full on scenes for everything, the locations never get tiring to me, since everywhere you go is a different experience with each stage, each weight gain stage adds new scenes to the location with new dialogue, and I especially love that some scenes remain the same, with different dialogue for those comparissons (Like when your at the pizza restaurant and she gets super stuffed, its fun to see at each stage)
I get it with games that use sprites because even though I enjoy them, the sprites poses remain the same no matter what stage your at.
But whenever Alice went up a size, I was excited to check out all the new scenes with all the new locations! So the way it is really works for me
I’d love to add more places, but the more I add, the more work it creates and the longer it’s going to take me to finish the game. Plus, I can’t really think of any more date-type locations to add, and when I’ve asked for suggestions, nobody has really been able to come up with much else that would fit into the context of the existing game.
So, never say never, but what we have thus far is probably going to be more or less it. There’ll definitely be one new location to visit with Alice, but apart from a few additions to existing scenes, I don’t think I’ll be adding more.
I agree that the full scenes add more variety than sprites on static backdrops. That was one of my main reasons for going down this route. A lot more work, but a lot more flexibility too
One thing that I think would be interesting to see is short dream sequence stuff, getting to play out ‘what if’ scenarios without there actually being any impact on main story.
Dream sequence stuff has been suggested quite a few times for anything from fantasy stuff, higher weights, clothes, harem, etc. and @tiggertoo has stated in the past that if they thought of a way that a dream sequence would enhance the story they would consider doing something. But often dream sequences are just done for “fun” and have no impact or point within a games narrative.
Unless something has changed I wouldn’t count on a what if style dream sequence anytime soon. For one I don’t think they fit the story structure of the game and would have to come up around idk weight events and only serve to “fake out” the player to some scenario. Unless you want to add a random dream sequence chance when going to bed at the MC’s home and that, atleast in my opinion, would feel a bit jarring and unrelated to the plot.
@Krodmandoon is right, as usual. This has been suggested several times, but IMO, it’d fall into the category of adding stuff just for the sake of it rather than enhancing the game.
I think places like the gym/beach could have more locations inside them potentially, like maybe a gym pool or sauna or spin class or whatever.
Although yeah since every scene is a full scene, revisiting the ice cream parlor over and over is unique every time because the angles and whatnot change constantly.
Funnily enough, both of those scenes have had small additions made to them
Tigger,
I just figured now would be as good a time as any to pop in and say how much I appreciate the effort you put into this already. I was a patreon of yours way back when you first had it, and it’s been great to see your enthusiasm for the game revive and come back to it.
It’s pretty evident the amount of work you put into it, and why things take so long. I may not be much of an art critique, but I’ll call the game one, and say that it’s art I like.
Back to being a lurker now. ;]
Thanks! And don’t worry about being a lurker. I lurked around here for months before finally making an account
Honestly I think it would make way more sense to add small one-off scenes in some of the locations than a whole new location. Those one-off scenes can be a whole lot of fun (they are some of my favorite parts of the game) and let you explore different aspects or areas of a given location without having to do an entire new location.
I’m thinking you mean the aspect of multiple paths or like at the park where you can choose different things to do at the same location. Or how you can end up at the bar through different events. Those are interesting and unique parts of the game. And with the player having access to Alice’s house and work it probably makes more sense to add in events or random encounters in places like this (and some of the newer addition locations) than looking to add entire new places that might feel more “unnecessary”. Although, I did enjoy seeing all the new locations that had been added to the early game.
For me personally, I think I enjoy seeing the evolution of scenes and events. I of course enjoy the visual and dialogue changes between weight stages (or even the changes in dialogue between weight events). But how the tone and event evolves over time with Alice’s changing weight is always a nice surprise. When there’s a new option to pick or escalation to a scene that didn’t exist before. Not only is it a nice unexpected thing to see, it just adds that much more to the scene. Things like shopping, picnic, running with Sarah come to mind. I definitely look forward to seeing more of that personally. Even if it will be more reserved to some of the scenes that haven’t had such things happen yet.
