Things are still a little odd, now I’ve started again from scratch. I/she is at 88 lb still, but if I go to the fountain and make a wish, one option is be happier with my weight. I am thinking about how fat I am and whether I may get fatter still. Seems a little odd at only 88 lb… I’m sure when I started from scratch in the previous version this didn’t happen.

Nothing is wrong, she doesn’t own a scale until like she weighs 104lbs after a couple weeks or whatever, then she starts weighing herself daily.

Can 100% confirm this was present in previous versions.
It’s also there when you are trying to diet, or have achieved the statement of, “You feel like you could get as fat as you want and still be happy”, so I have a feeling it is just hardcoded to be there always, like the cash option.

Stupid question, blurred for being a possible spoiler: How do I order weekend pizza via the gas station phone? If I go home on the weekend, the only options it gives me are back to town, wait, and go to bed.

you have to be in a relationship with Steve, and i believe he’ll give you his number at the bar. after that, once you have free time, you’ll have the option to call him before you leave the convenience store!

Yes, but surely she should not be worried about her weight at around 88 lb. As Morganism comments, maybe it has always been present and I didn’t notice it before. Actually she weighs herself from 99 lbs.

Oh, those. They’re not always “True is better”, so it would be difficult to have a useful global fudge. The way your are doing it is fine applied where you want it. Or, after the roll you’ll often find a commented out line that sets the result the way you want - that’s from my testing.

No, that enables calling him from the phone in the store (and is True after you meet him at the bar on the first night). His romance/platonic is his romance score (anything above zero is romantic), but that is ignored if his break up flag is set.

Yes, this is the hard diet mode: she only allows herself three “meals” a day, total. Bar snacks and the diner’s pasty menu don’t count as “meals”.

I regard this as a bug as it doesn’t make sense (technically she can’t be unhappy until she’s over 110lbs), but it has been this way since the fountain was added. In the next version it won’t be an option until she’s at the plump stage. I’ve also adjusted some of the text based on her size.

Yep, the “88?lbs” is meant to indicate she doesn’t actually know her weight (trust me, unless you are very careful, it is going up - you can see this if debug is enabled).

Yes, it was always available.

This is correct. You always get Steve’s number on the first night. The option to use the phone is available from the second weekend. Technically you can call Steve even if you aren’t in a relationship with him - but getting him to buy you pizza isn’t an available option.

I’m working on allowing you to call Sofia at the Diner …

I didn’t notice an event at 825, but the one at 880 is the same as the previous version… I was rather hoping that it might have involved getting stuck in a booth or in the bar doorway or something. Maybe in future!

Love the game, but it’s disappointing when she has to diet… still, good again when she’s lost a few pounds. Of course one can always turn diet off in the debug!

The 825-ish one can be missed if you skim-read things: It’s one of Alicia’s chats. There are some more girth/weight events already complete in dev and ready for the next version. And as for the future …

Another one of your text-based slice of life weight gain simulators I thoroughly enjoy(ed)! Cannot wait for more.

One point about doors - Alicia tells us that doors are typically 3 feet - that is 36" - wide. Doors in most homes are typically 30" - 32", so not surprising that our 880 lb girl has to squeeze through them! Doors to public buildings such as diners, bars etc would normally be a lot wider, to accommodate wheel chairs etc. I haven’t actually gone around measuring public place doors though! I think our little friend is much more likely to get stuck in booths than in entrance doors! Whatever, she’s great fun to play with. Thank you!

I’m glad you liked it! More is coming … though I’m not sure when.

When I originally researched this I found various places saying the most common USA residential door size was 36", so “nowhere’s” building code is for 36" doors, and that’s canon now! A (normal sized) wheel chair will pass through a 32" gap easily, and I think .uk’s building regs require 780mm(30 1/4") as a minimum gap (door will be bigger, due to the jambs). Commercial doors in the land of .com are normally 36" but can be found in 48" (or made any size), so the bar and diner are on the low end there.

I did reseach booth sizes, and she just fits front-to-back in the larger ones, just not width-wise! There may yet be some temporary booth stuck events in the future as I’ve got new code for … reasons. It likely won’t be in the next update though - too many other things in the works.

Thank you! I’m in Canada - I guess Americans tend to be larger than Canadians or Brits.

Can’t think why that would be…

I ask in how I can help in identify the error.
My problem is that I can start 0.13 but 0.14 would not.

What actually happens when you start it up? In the absence of any other information I would suggest downloading again and unzipping with a trusted archive utility like 7zip.

New download functioned!
What happened beforehand was that the game appeared in the task-manager but stopped working. The visible result was that the PC started to start it for a moment before stopping, therby never opening a window.

Best text game availiable, I think.
Good writing (Sofia part top notch), established solid game loop with a lot of potential for improvement, characters with some depth. With proper visuals it will be already best renpy game out there.
However it is always space for improvements:

  • More random events to reduce repetativeness, change day flow in some way
  • Repetetivness in selecting foods. Maybe if there is only one option availiable like “Nothing” you do not need to show select box and just apply this only variant
  • Now characters attitude towards the PC is determined mainly by her weight, perhaps more events should be tied to the progress of romance and feeder variables
  • Some random events that may change all characters (and her own) attitude to PC weight +/-
  • Perhaps there is a point in additional parameters such as the level of fitness, intelligence, beauty, which would also affect the attitude towards the PC. More places to spend time in to increase this parametrs at a cost of time, money, decrease of other params, decrese/increase of good attitude of some characters
  • More conflicting events that increase various attitudes of one characters and decrease various attitudes of the others
  • Economics it is oversimlified now, maybe payment should come per hour and player should decide how many hours in row PC should work
  • Clothes system, maybe some divercity could be made in this department. Colors. Also there is a bug when you do not renew swimsuit for a long time and then try to buy oversized
  • Character balance. Sofia call, visit Steve on his workplace

The economics in the game is where I tend to run into my biggest hang ups in the game. Admittedly, this is a very minor complaint, as this game is fantastic.

Still, it does have some issues. Dating Sophia basically removes any challenge from the game regarding cash, as helping her at the diner on the weekend can easily net the PC quite the wad of cash. This does get a little silly when the PC is 650+ pounds, and by rights should barely be able to move unaided.

Meanwhile, every time I dated Steve, I had the opposite problem. Now, granted, I was aiming for maximum stuffing potential on the weekends, but cash was significantly harder to come by. I kept needing to get clothes on credit, never could afford to pay off my tab and buy a new bathing suit, so missed out on a lot of flavour text, and even hit a point where the PC had to go hungry pretty much all weekend, as she couldn’t afford food at all.

Also, I noticed if I went on a date in the evening after work, I didn’t get paid. This makes dating Steve an even worse option, as you not only lose the means of making a lot of money in the game, the most common thing you do with him takes away the pay from your standard 9-5 job, and I don’t even know if the Chinese food is enough of a calorie bomb versus the bar food to make it worthwhile.

Who you date is surprisingly important for your cheque book.

These are issues that are well known and I believe the creator said they are going to be balanced in the future.

This, is important advice for everyone

At the current state of the game you can date with both and it will not be punished. (Aside mild Alice interfere)
Looking forward to multiple devastating events that can be made to punish this behavior in future. ))

Also FatLimit parameter is way too easy to expand now with well and PC inner dialogs. I think critic result should be removed (it makes things way to easy) + FatLimit should be reduced every time PC considers diet vie events, faces reproaches from other characters, negative consequences of WG. And vice versa, it can increase when PC gets encouragements from Reg, looks through specific magazines…

Now you deal with diet mechanic only at the end of the game or if you do not know how to play the game, which is unfair since this mechanic is quite deeply developed and interesting.

Also weight loss mechanic is rather unbalanced. PC can gain up to 9 lbs, but hardly loses 2 lbs. while having 2 salads a day.
