I don’t know much about sheepit, but isn’t it for Blender rather than Daz studio?
in theory you can/could also just block windows update from access the internet.
Version 0.13 is here! Link in the OP.
- Clothes shop is now open. I hope you enjoy the new NPC Alicia.
- PC can now sunbathe in the riverside park.
- Steve now has a number of paths and his events have been updated.
- Riverside walk takes into account PC’s size.
- More events added as PC reaches upper limit.
- Save games now record character name, weight, day and version.
- Save version updating on load (see below).
- Fixed NPC limits on PC size, diner lunchtime pricing and import beer pricing.
- Added new least-recently-used random selector for NPC chat and gas station events.
- General tuning of game play.
- Fixed various syntax errors and typos.
This version should be able to load games from v0.10 to v0.12. However much of the new stuff with Steve starts between PC weights of 130 to 240lbs. If you’ve gone beyond that it will make an effort to correct, but it isn’t ideal. You may want to start a new game or reduce the PCs weight to below 140lbs if you have debug enabled.
Spoilers:
Steve’s alternate paths diverge after you’ve broken up due to the PC getting fat. Depending on how you react he’ll start down effectively one of three paths. You can also decide if he remains mostly supportive, or starts teasing you about your eating habits.
No sleep for me!
But I get to have some fun in the weekend atleast!
if I delete my saves, but keep the persistent file in my save folder, then start a new playthrough and skip everything with skip unseen disabled, will it properly warp me past content i’ve seen in previous playthroughs? and show me anything new that’s been written? or will edits to scenes that already existed also be skipped using this method? so I should start totally clean instead?
edit: sidenote, you mentioned there are three results your relationship with steve can end up at? but uh i don’t see the variables for them in the debug menu anywhere? (I spoiled myself on what the variables are, but haven’t stated them here because they’re spoilers).
Enjoy! I hope these changes are good for you.
I honestly don’t know how the skip unseen works as I never use it (so I see my own typos). My suspiscion is that it looks at the raw “say” string, so it will mostly work, but may skip over places where I’m using text substitutions.
The state for this is in the flags and counters, rather than the NPC object as they are peculiar to Steve. Take a look in game/notes/noteFlags.txt
. These are in the debug menu under the State
option.
All: I’ve uploaded a patched version of v0.13 as there were a couple of syntax errors that were undetected earlier.
My dude, can I just say well done with this.
I found it two days ago and haven’t been able to put it down.
I am so hooked I actually started trying to learn some of the very basic programming commands so I can edit cheeky stuff for myself.
Then I see you have done a new release, so I have to do it all over again.
Needless to say, I offer my assistance if you want it. I’m not a bad writer and am obsessed with this story. If you don’t thats fine too. I just hope you don’t mind me tinkering under the hood and studying the code.
TLDR; Love this, please keep it up. Let me know if you want help with the project as I would love to give you a hand.
Thank you, and welcome to the forums!
I don’t mind people looking and/or tinkering at all. I deliberately don’t archive the source so you can look and see how it works, and leave the debugger available for people to play with if they wish. The more people making games the better, and if Tramp inspires you to give it a go, then great!
I’ll DM you about writing and so on shortly. As a new user here I think I have to instigate that.
It’s possible to Steve’s confession events for fire while the PC is thin, but dialogue assumes she is fat. Up to you how to handle it. I personally found it fun to deliberately make the PC yo-yo in weight, which doesn’t seem intended but does make for some amusing moments like a 90lb girl calling herself fat.
Thanks for letting me know. It was supposed to drop out of that path once you are back in Steve’s acceptable range.
For what it’s worth, I think it would be fine if there was a way for the confession to happen regardless if certain conditions were met, such as if his relationship value is high enough, the PC is miserable after dieting and their max acceptable weight is considerably (say 10lbs) higher than Steve’s.
Dialogue would have to be substantially different as a result but I feel like he should be able to come out as on his own without a breakup.
So do I! Glad to see swim gear in the new clothing store! Another great improvement!
Irl, she would hardly be mobile at 700 lbs…
Maybe Joe has one in one of his store rooms that was used by a previous protege… could be refurbished… just thinking!
Again thank you for a great experience!
Dear God this update is great. Steve needed the content and I didn’t think I’d ever say this, but I enjoy his path more than Sophia’s now. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for the future.
The game is trying to lean into the way the player is playing it. It’s possible for Steve never to become an FA, but stay as he is (becoming increasingly disenchanted if you continue to gain), or help you keep your weight under control (potentially becoming frustrated with his inability to do so), or quitely support your growing girth, or full FA. The break-up is a necessary step to determining how the player wants to proceed - whether they just overshot his mutable preferences, want to have no more to do with him, or genuinely want him to admit being an FA. I couldn’t think of a better way to do it while foreshadowing the outcome of the player’s choices.
Thank you! More swim stuff is planned.
True, but neither is reaching that kind of weight in under a year! For the game to work, it has to bend the rules somewhat.
Joe isn’t actually interested in the PC’s gain beyond getting her to a more normal weight. Moving out would be a better option…
Thank you! He’s certainly the more nuanced of the two now. While it’s just a silly game, I wanted to touch on things that do affect people, and have (hopefully) those heartfelt relateable conflicted moments. Hopefully it’s bits like this that make the NPCs feel real, and stop the game being just click-to-get-fat.
Wait so how can you turn Steve into FA? I absolutely can’t figure it out.
break up with him, talk to alice at the bar a few times, run into steve again, you can then choose his path/destiny/etc.
sidenote: when alice forces you to break up with sofia (or steve) I chose to break up with sofia (but in debug she’s not listed as broken up with, does this mean this is just a placeholder and the choice isn’t actually forced on players yet?)
Thank you. Was wondering how to do that myself.
Edit: Stupid question for anyone who might know the answer: is there any financial benefit to purchasing clothes early before outgrowing them, or can I just wait until the game forces me to the clothing store?
so is there clothes burst description?
also is there a yuri route?
No to the clothes burst, as far as I’m aware. Once you get too big for your current clothes, the PC makes an emergency run to the clothing shop. Don’t know what happens if you can’t afford the new clothing.
And yes to the Yuri.
If you can’t afford the clothing, the shopkeep bums you some cash until you can pay her back. Dunno what happens if you can’t pay her back tho
