I appreciate the tip, and, of course, your time. That is actually a very good reason to keep the crop-shape mechanic, come to think of it, and I have to say that I agree with you on that decision.
I for one, like all the small updates. Itās like Iām able to see all the small things that are improved in the game one by one. Iāve also come to terms with doing the early grind each time an update rolls out, I donāt think itās all that bad.
Iād say release updates at your own pace. While having updates this commonly is really nice for a person like me, who loves to see incremental progress like this, if it ever feels like much of a burden you shouldnāt be obligated to do so.
As for the moment⦠while incompatible saves would very much be an issue for the future, I donāt mind replaying the start over and over at the moment. One thing that would certainly help, though, is giving the player access to more farmland. You mentioned potentially opening up Beatriceās plot to the player at one point, perhaps that could be looked into?
Iād just like to say that iāve been loving the development of the game so far, the artwork is awesome and I canāt wait to see more WG stages (if thatās planned).
One suggestion iād make is to have the player get hungry more often on later WG stages than they do at the start. You could counteract this by requiring more food to gain weight at later stages, which in turn would give the player more stuff to do during late game when the crops take longer to grow.
Also, this would probably be a bit harder to code but itād be nice to have a button to click on the feed/gift screen, because as of right now you get basically no feedback from performing that action.
I have a question about this game. Am I playing it wrong or is there literally nothing to do most of the time. I think I talked to all the npcs but there is simply nothing to do while waiting the entire day for sweetroot to grow.
Nope, youāre not doing anything wrong. The game is just in a very unfinished state at the moment.
With that in mind I think that you are doing great!
If I ignore that then it is doing pretty well, farming is interesting too with the tetris vibe it has, and vendors getting fatter because you buy things from them is a nice touch. Oh and also the dog nps reacting to his WG is very nice.
Something just hit me in the head and I have to ask; what crop is the most efficient out of all them, as in, crops that produce the most amount of money with the least amount of time?
how do i get seeds? i remember when i got seeds but i dont know how
You see that little bunny looking character wearing the pink shirt? Press E when facing them and it should give you options to buy seeds and sell some of the crops, the other, more expensive crops can be sold in the restaurant.
well the bad news is i have no dolars to buy some seedsā¦
You can get free rotato seeds at the other person thatās in the area.
hey chubberdy, where all the save files go
The current available build does not have saving yet, and the save data wonāt be easily accessible when the next build is released.
Sweetroot is the most efficient time-wise at the cost of being the worst space-wise.
I donāt remember if I or someone else have asked this but are you planning on making stuff like watering, fertilizing and keeping pests out a thing?
because right now there is not much of a reason not to plant sweetroot other than you canāt afford it.
some plants could be easy to grow so you can do other things while they grow and watering or whatever could be easier or harder on different seasons
I was planning on making it so certain townsfolk will trade specific crops for other things, but I hadnāt even considered pests or specific growing seasons. I did consider watering/fertilizer, but that didnāt really work out with the way I implemented the crops. The growing seasons is especially interesting though, I might have to look into that.
I just want to say something about the game, it contains furriness and it doesnāt force it on you, you can choose to be a human, this is a really nice touch, especially for all the non-furries out there, especially me.
Time for another non-build update. Iāve decided to remove the full screen backgrounds for shops and just keep a standard dialogue box for them instead. I was dreading having to draw 10-12 full backgrounds for every shop, which honestly was a bit of scope creep. This does mean that shops will now have names and portraits instead, which will be much easier for me to do and keep the scale reasonable.
Yeah that sounds like a good idea, better to spend your time and energy on actual gameplay elements. Besides you can always go back and polish it later. I know there isnāt a lot to do as of the current build, but Iām really digging the idea behind this game so far.
