Not to steal your thunder but there is a better way.
This will allow you to change the data as you play, you will have to download the “GameFiles” as well as to knock out the anti-cheat, but it works really well, albeit you can also stop the deletion event by removing the event in CommonEvents.json, just search the words in the event pop-up
(as provided to not require the death of a save to get for those looking to cheat late game)
