I played demo, is nice but I want some perk or status gain form event like:
Curious Statuette can Curse you some like “hunger” or “slobby(also -CHA)”, not other curse
Weighted Down: Acceptance can cause a “fat ass(+cha)”
The Wolf’s Candy: give you a spell of fatten kind, like slow down but make you can take less Dmg
I think have some perks will be nice, like:
“fat lover” : gain Reason went WoF event happen
“feeder”: make Allies won’t leave, and them will gain weight by day pass each time
“feedee”: more Allies will make rest and food can gain more HP
“fat boobs”: +cha -dex
“fat ass”: +cha -dex
“fat belly”: -dex -1dmg form everywhere
“blob”: -2dmg -3dex
“slob”: -2dmg -3dex -2cha
and In addition, I hope that the environmental impact caused by the old gods can increase the “fat people”, so that the NPCs in each scene become fat

Alrighty, so I’ve sent the test version of the mod to a bunch of people and I think it’s good for now

I’m gonna put this on hold for a few days while I start getting all the feedback, and I’ll see if there should be more testing then

I’ll keep those in mind, as right now you can’t mod curses, status effects or spells. I’ll consider more things once the game is updated.

There seems to be a typo in “The Mirror” event. When you succeed the event where you look at the mirror, there’s a bit of text that says “as you notice occult symbols drawn nearby, like at trap.” and I think that at was supposed to be an “a”.
With that, the mod has been amazing so far and I’m eager to see what might be able to be done once modding is updated for WoH.

Given the limitation, everything seems in order, effect and balance wise, though the ones with the 3rd choice having no check and relatively cool downsides does make them a bit safe,

I will say the event that gives you
+2stamina and +3doom on a success and +Injury -2doom feels a bit harsh, since the -2 doom might get immediately spent on visiting the hospital to cure the wound, but on the other hand it’s interesting, which is better then boring.

I’ve never played the Game itself so if I am a bit blind to how it works, but would this mod add its own scenarios into the game or just add the events into the game? Not gonna lie I’m interested in the game because of this mod

And yeah, those choices were meant to be that way, a small reward or punishment to balance the other options that are high risk/ high reward.

Though I’ll still take a look at those and see what could be changed.

It just adds events and enemies as it’s all that can be modded currently, but I have ideas for more things once more can be done!

K, out of curiosity how do you play the game is it like a visual novel? Or text adventure type thing. Again sorry if I bother you I’m just curiou coming into the game due to the mod

It’s quite complicated tbh.
Basically you have a main quest to complete, which will tell you which places to “investigate” in that turn
Once you start an investigation, a short cinematic followed by an event will trigger.

Those events are mostly stat checks like for example “You feel exhausted and you feel like you would fell asleep while standing up. How do you hsbdle this situation?” and you have some options

  1. Take a nap (Recovers +1 REASON but increases DOOM by 2%)
  2. Buy a coffee (-1 funds, if you don’t have funds, you lose - 1 REASON)
  3. Jog around the block (Strenght stat check ~ if you suceed, you gain 1 reason with no doom penalty, althought if you fail, you lose 1STAMINA)

It’s basically a turn based rpg that quickly turns into a weird and fun resource-management game.

Expanding on the mechanics of it, there are two hp indicators
Stamina and Reason
basically, one for physical attacks (you cut yourself, someone hit you with a bat, etc) the other one for psychological attacks/spells (You find a chopped off head, you lose 2 reason due to the shock. Things like that)

There is also the DOOM meter, which I forgot to mention. Serves as a soft-cap on the ammount of actions you can do on a full run
Basically, investigating a location will give you 1% doom, entering shops and clinics to heal afflictions (trauma, injuries, etc, like in darkest dungeon) also cost 5% doom to enter, and if they don’t have the items you want, you can restock it for 3% additional doom rather than leaving and entering again.
When the doom meter reaches 100%,it’s an instakill, so you’ll have to chose how do you prepare yourself, as there are many curses and events and enemies that can also directly affect your doom

Finally answering your question, it’s a roguelike-rpg-turn based-horror-mashup. Althought the story is told by text (no voice acting) and there is a lot of reading, it is in fact quite an unique experience.

This mod basically adds more events to the pool, so sometimes you can visit a school and suddenly find a modded event rather than one from the base-game, since they are randomly selected.

I apologize for the rushed explanation since it’s 2AM and I really wanted to answer your question. I can get more in depth if you want me to, since I skipped stuff like injuries, psychological traits and curses, their effect and etc, so feel free to ask.
