Feelings after a couple of days (quite enthusiastic) trial:
game goes deeper than I thought at first sight. Everything looks well-thought and highly stable. I am getting confident about my girl’s ability to carry her still growing weight and benefit from her gain. I think I know now enough to form some simple strategies to use when I finally start the next character. I am astonished about how well the system functions.
still liking the relatively slow pace. Perfect for a slow player like me, I reckon. I make mistakes, so I have time to correct some of them before my char suffers TOO much.
Opinionated and probably quite irritating suggestions: (TLDR-warning)
needs a DEBUG-function. What for, you might ask, and I admit this is a highly suspicious and arguably very bad idea, but there are people who would like faster progress and there could be some total odd-balls like me who are too jealous about their char’s weight to put them on weight-loss diets and still liked to see how their chars would cope in thinner form or weaker in some way. What I currently think I’d like to see is actually:
fast and painless weight loss. Magical potion, debug-function, some other (preferably controllable) method. I really hate prolonged diets and would very much prefer to get over with them as fast as possible. I absolutely love the relatively slow gain, however. Gives me good vibes etc., but the loss of weight is always a loss of something else, too. I am certain you know what I am speaking about.
possibly other functions, but I am not sure I’d really need those. Just playing with ideas about:
shorter walks
some weight gain-related humiliation
PS. This is a fan-post. Even bad ideas/odd suggestions aren’t meant to be taken too seriously. I am still quite impressed about the game, probably much more than a few days back. Truly exiting to see what comes next! ;D
We will see what improvements I will be able to make, if any
What we have right now is still an unfinished version of the project. I have tons of features planned. The downside is that it takes time. If you look at the first message in this forum thread you might notice that the date is 2016-05-15. It means that 6 months have passed since I first started working on the project. That’s a very long time
one quick question; did you have any sort of standard system in mind for the character’s stats? like for height and weight, do you intend it to be the metric system, imperial measurement, etc? I’ve guessed height is probably in meters; it would mean ~5’9", which makes perfect sense for average height. just curious.
Guys i think my router burned. I recently had several power outages at home and now it stopped working. Since i run the app at home, it wont be available until i resolve this problem
Regardin the questions: i currently use metric measurement units. I planned ro add imperial measurement units… Financial aid prevents u from going below 5000 money. Stamina is terrible now; it needs to be redesigned. Btw i hope everyone noticed that journal records can be expanded, collapsed by means of clicking the small button left of the time label. not that u can try it now because the app is unavailable haha
Okay, you need to rebalance things a lot. For one, travel times. They’re pretty absurd for a game like this in my opinion. But that’s the lesser issue.
Weight gain. You know how stomach capacity increases over time? Well it’s gotten to the point where my character is gaining 30 kilograms a day. Yeah…
Can’t say I agree with all the hate over travel times. I think the pseudo real-time “idler” style gameplay is a stroke of genius. Why would every dungeon be convenient to your house? I’d expect to eventually see high-level areas that take days to reach in-game. The journey could become significant in itself, with random events, stops for rest and refreshment, and mini-encounters.
Balancing is no doubt an ongoing concern. The direct link between stomach size and food absorption/gain seems a bit overly-convenient – but I can seen the practical sense in it, especially in the early development phase. Ultimately it would be nice to see strategic elements, where your choices (and luck) make a real difference to your opportunities for gain weight and overall progress.
Just want to give you guys a heads up; don’t let your character run out of stamina and energy. They’ll just keep resting until the end of time, even if they’re on the road. I’ve had one sacrificial lamb try this, and he’s been 91% of the way home from the marketplace for a couple real-time days now. Closest thing to permanent death you can get.
Oh, and 36.4 kg is the lowest you can go, in case anyone was wondering. You actually lose weight surprisingly fast if you starve yourself.
I just wanted to say that, despite my initial doubts about the speed of play, I’m actually enjoying this with the latest update. My character still has a way to go before she can tackle the hardest dungeons, but it’s all ticking over nicely.
I’m enjoying watching my simple adventurer grow to an enormous one, but I just noticed a little issue: my character is eating constantly because she’s digesting her food as fast as she’s eating (or faster!). it’s kinda funny, but every time she decides to eat she eats her entire stock of food. probably need to tweak that algorithm, or institute a limit on the digestion rate.
I’ve had the same problem for another character. I personally like it, since I’ve had her be a big glutton since the beginning with occasional dungeon runs, but therein I discovered another problem; no matter how much health I make my character have, she stands no chance against enemies in danger level 10 and above. Maybe adding at least one more weapon to the later dungeons, just a bit better than the standard swords? The only other option would be to constantly grind out upper body strength, but that takes forever to get your damage up by even 0.01 point.
I’ve seen that too. the lvl 6-8 dungeons leave my character with minimal health if she makes it, and she’s only just recently gotten her base damage to .07.

I’m having the same problem - digesting food as quickly as she eats. Without a better weapon or some other way of increasing damage the last 3 dungeons can’t be beaten as I can no longer increase my health.
Also, the server seems to be offline. I’m getting 502 Bad Gateway. Or is that just me?
Oh, uh, also. I’ve gotten my character to 600 kilograms, and I can beat all the dungeons. They can also eat over 200 hamburgers without becoming full, and they receive about 60 government aids a day.
Instance 0004 stopped working earlier because server firmware got stuck… I rebooted it, so now it should be fine. I made a backup copy today, just in case… Report technical problems if u notice any.
Since 0004 I implemented just one new minor feature. I noticed that a lot of food messages appear in journal, resulting in food-spam. Now all food consumed in one sitting is collapsed into one message. See screenshot.
Hmmm so someone managed to beat all dungeons. Thats unexpected. Here is what I did originally: I noticed that the first 6 dungeons are somewhat passable so I added 6 more just in case. I thought that they are impassable. My character cleared maybe 8th dungeon at best but no further.
I spent some time thinking of how I can improve the game. I think… Maybe… make the death permanent? Actually I drafted a list of features planned for the next release (see screenshot). If it turns out that the development takes too much time, then I might exclude some features from the lists and deploy earlier. I have not started implementing anything from the lists because I feel somewhat tired, as usual.
Thanks for the feedback. I read ur posts. If u feel that I overlooked some serious problem u reported then feel free to post a message about same problem again Same goes for important features,
Maybe there should be an option to make your death permanent. Some people like me get VERY salty if they suddenly lose all progress from permanent death.
