Hello all, real update finally.

Additions for V0.4
In the options menu for anyone who is already a Plus+ and Post Treatment character, there is an option to add the flags to your character that are needed for this update.

Any new/current character that enters chapter 2 after receiving the Treatment while on this update will automatically gain the new ftags.

^ This one. I really enjoy random events (aka RNG) while exploring in text adventures. So I apologize in advance for anyone who is not a fan of this system. The reason I mention this, is because this update has a lot of RNG. If you do not want to deal with the random chances, I will at least let you know that Twine’s built in ‘back and forward’ buttons can help you cheese events.

A “new” named character:
All memes and jokes aside, you will encounter a glitch during this ‘quest’. This is not a bug, but a feature and it is purely for flavor/appearance.

You can meet the new character and begin their ‘quest’ by randomly triggering an event during the “experiment going on through one of the windows’” hallway scene.

If you want to try finish the quest without help. Just assume RNG is the answer to most of the events. There is a silly puzzle of some sort and if you keep the name ‘Jack’ in your head it may speed that part along.

Other then that I would skip the following section.

Here is a basic guide to the overall character. These chances will change a bit in the future.

Window experiment event RNG trigger → 33% chance.

The RNG event will have a 33% chance to trigger ANOTHER event. Which gets you started with the character.

There will a ‘puzzle’ to do. It really is just clicking on the correct links through trial and error. But if you get the reference it could go a bit faster, keep the name “Jack” in your head and work backwards.

You unlock dialogue options. Two of which can only be used once a day. Just using these links everyday will unlock all their current content. The final trigger being another stand alone 33% chance

Note: So the character is not 100% done, there will a few additional scenes I am adding next. Also adding some player choices that effect the new characters behavior to an extent.

Replaces certain words to allow someone to play a fantasy or other sci-fi race, you will find the section for it in the Sex and Race menu under updates. Has the same updates as the real V0.49 release)

This is a ‘complete’ precursor to V0.5
Changes/additions made as follows
—After discovering ABBI, the technician scene has a chance for another follow up event. (Not related to ABBI)
—After unlocking ““ABBI””, there is a new wander event for the lab area.
—You can now have ABBI check your condition/situation (no limit). Besides flavor, she will help make it clear outside of your character description, if you are below or above 50% stomach capacity (Can do more things if people want it, but don’t know if people want a hidden stat bot), and whatever togglable descriptors are active on the character.
—You can no longer activate chapter 2 content until having your character enter chapter 2, be it through natural progression or using the update menu.
—You are now able do the transition into "Honorary Residential’ status. If you have played at least 14 days since getting the Treatment, the event will trigger once you wake up. (Current characters can apply the update in the typical menu. Shows up when at least 7 days have passed.)
—As the precursor to V0.5, the new zone is unlocked after getting your new resident status. But there is no real content there yet. But anyone who wants to see if the transition works for them, its there.
—You can now choose what zone to wander around in, or you can use wander freely and that will include all current zones and events in your wander results. (No real content for Zone 2 until V0.5)

I think that’s everything, I am always thankful to those who are willing to poke it and see if it explodes.

Ill edit this post as I fix things, as you all find them. Also please feel free to DM me your save file, even if you are not running into any issues. Having other people’s characters on hand would actually making testing stuff a lot easier. I try and test content with a wide range of characters, but stuff still breaks etc.

Made a new save and got this from the bathroom mirror on day 2, character was like 122.99lbs I think. Been loving your Plus+ stuff tho!

Edit: Seems to be fine now!
Edit2: Just checking something, but is this “glitch” you speak of the “missing macros” during the repair sequence with ABBI? If not, then I seem to have run into a bit of a snag with said sequence.

Noted, but something I did notice is that when progressing to chapter 2 after the event, progress for it is reset seemingly without any way to retrigger it. Could be a fluke on my end tbh, but it could be cuz I didn’t realize that you actually needed to activate and allow chapter 2 to occur.

You technically can’t access her until Chapter 2, once you enter Chapter 2 you gain the first flags needed to begin her event. But since I have the update options freely available. One could technically update their pre treatment character, to have the flags. I’ve considered hiding the update menu until Chapter 2 is unlocked, but I figured it wasn’t worth letting people goof around if they really wanted.

However Redoing her quest does cross into territory I don’t want to make people redo. I am gonna change that now.

Sounds good, but I would like to point out that her option is gone from the menu entirely and I can’t seem to get her back from the window event, which could just be bad RNG on my end. I don’t know if that was clear or not or even necessary, but I just wanna cover all my bases.

Should just be bad RNG as the tag you get for her once you enter Chapter 2 is tied to her -Not- being in the menu. Let me know if it doesn’t seem to ever come back up.

Yep, it was just that! Just got her now using the magic of the back button.

In both the base game and the added content… what is the main unlock tie? like should you wander as much as possible every day? or after you unlock something new from wandering does it make sense to just stay in your room and pass a week really quickly?

and are unlocks mostly gated by weight or by day? or are they only ever gated by one or the other? (since I gain weight as the day counter goes up, I can’t tell if gaining is unlocking the new events or the weight, aka, I’m wondering, is it ever smart to just sleep for a week to raise the day count a bit to unlock more stuff?)

so, i tried out a few different descriptors in the race test, and it works pretty well! all the new content so far has been really cool to see!

So far it’s been very great, can’t wait to see what else you plan to add, I was wondering if you were planning to do something with the automeal thing, it’s been there as a “broken machine”, maybe have it repaired as an event for helping out the engineers?

@Kingling Thank you for finding that. It seemed to be a wander event that got goofed as the flags for it were not strict enough to prevent it from showing up sometimes. Once I tightened those up a bit I couldn’t get it do it anymore. Thanks again~ (I assume you had not met ADDI in that file, otherwise Ill keep looking.)

@namad Base content is pretty much 100% weight based up to around 750lbs. For the stuff I am adding, I am trying to keep a healthy of mix unlock requirements so the best way to unlock is just play/do whatever you want. The hardest thing(s) to see from me, will really just be RNG wander events etc.

@Mintpanda1 I’m so glad it seems to be working. Ill be merging the two together soon then. Ill apply human flags to everyone automatically for the current upcoming release.

Once you get to the point that your character can’t help in the maintenance anymore, I imagine the aliens might just have you around as moral support.:stuck_out_tongue:

Hello friends,

So I was setting up some of the energy drain from the current events I am working on. After messing around with them I am pretty sure the weight penalty that has been in place is not applying as harshly as it was originally intended.

The original/current system in place is " 15 " max energy. With a maximum penalty of 2.
So right now " 13 " is the lowest max energy. This means the current system is practically static.

I believe the original intent was to have " 10 " as the lowest max energy.

I don’t know how much of an important feature/concept this is to people. So I made a poll as to find out what you all want. (I am trying a new poll website, so I hope this works)

@UltimateX13 I did as well. I had noticed some of the numbers seemed higher than what was actually being applied. It technically has that 2 there, but at that point I should just set it to 15.
