Going forward, I think it’s a good idea to fork the assets from the prereq mod that are necessary for the visual GW functionality for several reasons. Firstly, the animation stuff is unlikely to ever work properly in a WG mod without a ludicrous number of variants given the physical limitations of uh, BBW/BHM posing and ‘positions’. Second, if that mod ever stops working or is abandoned, it would need to be updated separately anyhow. Third, the sizing feature in the mod isn’t very accurate right now and could use additional emphasis that is unlikely to happen so long as it’s focused on setting up animations and scenes. Fourth, a dedicated fork would allow the fine-tuning and enhancement of the visual weight representation at various sizes and perhaps even additional body type variation over the three currently available ingame. Stuff like single vs double bellies, arm flab, etc…
And lastly, the mod slider changes already need changes to work better with clothing, perhaps requiring changes in the body model used in nude vs clothed scenes. Would take time and effort but IMO worth it, especially if it lets you design scenes that deliberately use this (clothes-busting, anyone?).
That much I understand, I only hope to find a way to somehow fix this issue. I already tried reverifying my files and have looked for other solutions but to no avail.
I don’t think I’ve had those problems - when I was messing with this mod, I found that wgac had a ton of stuff copied from cbo, so I kinda just combined them. I may have fixed the stuttering/cloning without realizing it was there. That or I just don’t notice it/differing hardware makes it less noticable etc.
Here’s the combined mod I’ve got. You can move the original cbo and wgac folders/.mods out of your mod folder, unzip this, and plop the contents into your mod folder. The model growth & variety of bodies is probably different from what I posted earlier - I’ve occasionally tweaked settings around to experiment. If you want it like it was in my last post, download the files from earlier and overwrite the ones here (my last post had the locations they are in the mod folder). If you’d rather the default mod experience, look at the files I posted earlier, grab the original wgac versions of them, and overwrite mine. I think it should be that easy. There were a few files of mine that just did bugfixes, you can prob leave my versions of those in.
Worth mentioning that no work is being done on this mod OR most other mods, everyone is holding off releases until after the february DLC since that is changing the modding code a lot as well as including all the new features.
Regardless of what might change in the scripting, nothing irreversible (that I can’t fix) is likely to happen. On the other hand, I see plenty of new opportunities for new weight gain content.
I can’t promise exact dates, but I’ll try to find some time to adapt the mod to the new patch, finish the version with the fitness system etc, and maybe try utilizing some of the new capabilities brought to the game with the new patch.
For the new DLC, there’s for example an option to increase the amount of food served at your court, I believe that could be modded as well.
If you have a Taste Tester (minor title) hired, your weight will trend down by 15 points. If you have a royal court, the quality of food amenities will influence the amount that a feast changes your weight. Otherwise, nothing changed (except for defining obesity/malnourished in defines), which is the good news. From that earlier post I linked, I feared they were going to handle everything to do with weight at the code level.
Also, editing to add that they got rid the on_action that used to handle weight change. That will make it more annoying to create dynamic weight “stage” modifiers, like going from overweight to obese to morbidly obese, but it should be fine over all.
Took a look at the new code for weight stuff. Yep, they moved constants that determine whether you’re obese or malnourished into defines, but I think I can somehow disable them and pretty much use my current on_actions and effects to enable custom weight stages.
They addes some new stuff that effects your weight. The most obvious one is your court’s food amenities. At maximum it gives you 30 points of weight. Also weight gain from feasts is affected by it as well.
So, integrating these changes doesn’t seem too hard. What most worried me is that Character Body Overhaul probably doesn’t work with the new patch, and Mange seems to have disappeared. Without his mod I can’t really have characters that look super fat. Not sure what to do with this problem.
Yeah, CBO crashes to desktop when I tried to load it to 1.5. I’ve read some accounts of people being able to get the game to start, but characters being invisible or something.
Either way I’ve already rolled back to version 1.4 to keep playing with Character body overhaul. Weight gain aside, Mange’s bodies are so much better than the base game, it’s actually painful to play CK3 without them at this point.
His absence is definitely concerning considering a bunch of adult mods also make use of his mod so hopefully he hasn’t bowed out. And if he has, hopefully someone more knowledgeable on this stuff can pick up development.
I’m definitely talking out my ass right now but I’m assuming it wouldn’t take much to get some basic functionality for CBO to work in 1.5 assuming not too much has changed under the hood, what with most of the work already being done.
The 3D courtroom on the other hand sounds like a nightmare.
All the new clothes have to be reworked. I don’t have the skills for it, but Mange or another modder could try. If nobody does it, I will probably have to use the maximum limits of the vanilla bodies.
Funnily enough I could see that as a problem for kings or queens of that time. Miss The character body overhaul mod but he does update it somewhat so he may be working on it (hopefully)
Does this mod cause game to crash now, I was running some of my updated mods with this one and its been crashing on marriage and events weren’t working right
