Fatocracy - A Crusader Kings 2 (Base game now free to play) weight gain expansion mod

So here’s what I’ve got for my first succession law: Dynastic Fatocracy. The way it works is fairly simple; in general, the fattest close family member in the dynasty is elected to take control of the title. This is an elective based succession law, so your vassals who are higher than baron tier and spouse will get a say in who get’s elected (and yourself of course). In most cases it will be as simple as who has the highest weight tier wins, but if there are characters tied for highest weight tier the other factors will be the deciding factor.

Things like gluttonous, hedonist, being a Neko, being an exposed feedee will improve your chances by a significant amount (if the fattest character has only the “soft belly” tier of weight, just one of the above will be enough to push someone at normal weight ahead).

Female characters will have a bit of an edge with this succession law, how much of one will depend on the gender succession law. This is because of their potential body fat distribution. Belly and bottom heavy focused women will have the highest bonus. Breast, butt and thigh will get the second tier of bonus, and hips will get the lowest bonus. In agnatic-cognatic succession, the highest bonus will only offset the gender penalty, absolute cognatic turns it into a decent bonus, enatic-cognatic makes the bonus much more noticeable.

You’re character’s children will have an edge over the other close family members. Temperate characters will also be disqualified from being a candidate.

To get this succession law you need to be feudal (tribal will get something else), higher than baron tier, not muslim (their succession law is pretty deeply tied to the religion’s coding so I’m playing it safe), not Byzantine/Roman emperor, not a Decadentist (they will get their own). The other thing you need is to be gluttonous or hedonist and either be [immobile with a high prestige] [be a demon, fallen angel or possessed]. Alternatively to the glutton/hedonist route, it’s also available to Nekos, Bountists, Lunatics, or tentacle brood mothers.

I intend to have events for characters living underneath a liege with this succession law.

Out of curiosity, are you planning any special fat events or powers for demon and fallen angel characters? I noticed that you mentioned them in your latest post

Yep I do intend to still add those. I might want to scale the magic system back a little bit for human characters but I do still intend to give magic to the demons, Kitsunes, fairies and Nekos (after that ritual thing if it’s on).

I’ve also added a minor title for characters who have the Dynastic Fatocracy Succession law to favor one of their adult children to be groomed for succession. The main thing is that it will block the character from choosing diets other than hearty, very hearty, or temporary obese diet. It will also start giving them events that will change aspects of their personality the longer they have the title (what changes will be determined by the character with the title’s choices). The drawback to using the title is that they may start picking up traits that are objectively bad like slothful or arbitrary for example.

Landed, vassal children of the same dynasty of the character with the succession law will also have the option to give this title to any of their adult children.

when should I update the mod in the game folders?

I don’t understand the question.

You should be able to update at any time. If you are in the middle of a campaign, you might haves some trouble with the current generation of characters, but any new ones will be alright.

I’ve started work on another succession law, this time for tribals. It’s called Prosperity Meritocracy succession. It’s another elective succession type that any non muslim (playing it safe again with due to how they are programmed) tribal nation can take. It’s based primarily around 3 things, the number of courtiers that like you, the weight of a character with a specific minor title (I’ll get into that), and if you have the Reaper’s Due dlc, how many counties have prosperity modifiers. The electors are the liege and their vassals. The candidates are the vassals higher than baron tier and the liege’s children. It is more like the Imperial elective in the sense that it’s more about giving your vote more power rather than getting as many people to support you as possible, although both are still important.

The number of courtiers who like you is fairly explanatory, The number of courtiers with an opinion their liege of 40 or higher will increase that character’s voting power (with a cap of 20 courtiers, any more characters that like the liege will not be counted).

Any county in the realm with the prosperity modifiers will add to the voting power of the character. Pretty simple, any level of prosperity is counted the same due to limitations (so a lv.1 county is scored the same as lv.3). If you have at least one level 3 county somewhere will also give an additional boost to your voting power. This is where the current liege gets his voting advantage, since they will have their vassal’s prosperous counties counted for the liege as well. The number of prosperous counties also have a cap (20). This can also be a drawback for the liege as well. If any counties are suffering from depopulation, that character’s voting power will be lowered (capped at 10 counties). This requires the Reaper’s due dlc, if you don’t have it, it simply won’t be a factor for this succession law.

Finally there is the minor title that anyone will be able to pass out if they either have this succession law themselves, or if their liege has it. This is kind of like the minor title for the other succession law but it has a few different events tied to it. Basically, you take one of your adult children that the gender law doesn’t favor (this is currently unavailable to true cognatic countries, I don’t know if I’m going to change it or not) and you will attempt to fatten them up. The reasoning behind it is that it’s more of a symbolic/propaganda thing for how well your people are fed/are prosperous. Like the other title, this will block them from taking the other diets apart from hearty, very hearty and the temporary obese one. Once someone has this title, they will receive a modifier that will directly counter the negative tribal opinion modifier for whatever their weight level is for the rest of their lives, even if they lose the title. They can only have title once in their lifetime, if you ever give it to someone else, you will not be able to give it back to the original child. Characters with the title will occasionally receive events like the other title, but they will be less hedonistic and more gluttonous. Hosting feasts for these characters will be a costly, but effective method of fattening them up as well as getting prestige out of it. The fatter this character is, the larger your voting power will be.

If a title at any point has this succession law a flag will be put on it. This flag will allow for the Dynastic Fatocracy succession law if the holder becomes feudal, and the title is the primary title of the character holding it. I’m also going to have some events that nudges the AI into making their government a merchant republic if they meet the qualifications and have this succession type. If do make my food based merchatn republic government idea, this will also be a fast way to become that as well.

I also think I know what I’m going to do with the Bacchus cult. Due to how the cult already exists in game as a society with the Monks and Mystics DLC that needs to be reestablished (they serve the same functions as the devil worshiping cults for the other religions), I’m going to make events, a separate and not evil secret society revolving around Bacchus, and finally having another way to reestablish the vanilla one without having Rome restored.

At the start, the society (the base version of the society will not require the dlc, but if you have it, there will be a proper society to join) will consist of otherwise bored nobility taking part in the revelries of old Bacchus festivals, not for any religious purposes, but just for entertainment. There will be events just consisting of more wild parties and feasts and not a whole lot else. From here, there will be an option to reintroduce the religious element back into the society. This would give members a choice to secretly convert to either the unreformed Hellenic or Reformed Hellenic if it exists. If the religious aspect is reintroduced, characters with evil traits (cruel, cannibal, etc.) will have an option to reestablish the vanilla game’s version of the cult without needing the Roman Empire to be restored. The vanilla society will be separate from my version’s society, but they will receive most of the same events and decisions as mine, but they will be more extreme.

I am also making progress on the partner events for when a character gains weight. It’s just going a bit slowly.

Quick poll since I don’t think I ever got anyone’s opinion on the subject. When it comes to the dlc content, should I now start occasionally make something that requires a dlc to play, but not necessarily to experience? Example, anything involving merchant republics. You can’t play them without the dlc, but you can be affected by them as a nation you can play. It won’t ever be a focus until I reach a point where I feel that I’ve done all I can using only vanilla content, so it won’t take most of my time.

  • Yes, I can occasionally work on more dlc heavy content
  • No, save it all for later

I know I said earlier that I wasn’t going to add custom races, but I’ve decided to change my mind (sort of). My idea was to originally only limit it to demons and half demons from Luxuria Fantasia as a unique mechanic for them, but I’ve also thought of a few other places to insert it. I’m thinking of adding the ability to turn into/be turned into an imp (like in the WIP sketch below).

I was just making this drawing on my own, and was considering maybe using it for demon related events, but I figured there was quite a bit I could do with the concept. It wouldn’t be a race in the same way as the other LF ones since it’s more of a form than race (kind of like the dragons shape shifting abilities in LF). The reason I would add it to a weight gain related mod is mostly due to how much potential weight gain related content can be stapled onto it due to their smaller size and particular body shape. I’m thinking of making the form available to the races; Demon, Half Demon, Fallen Angel, Human, Elf, and Orc.

So far the basics I’ve got for the form are a huge penalty to personal combat skill, -3 martial, +5 Intrigue, -10 opinion from characters following Abrahamic religions, and +20 opinion of Demons.

For the base weight gain affects, you will gain extra weight from your diets. So it will be easier to gain weight in this form, and harder to lose it. If you are below 20 weight (pot belly tier), you will gain a little additional weight every weight pulse until you are at least at 20. During dinner dates, the cost will be discounted if you or your partner is in this form (even larger discount if both). You will be given a small amount of money every time you choose a new diet for yourself (because of the smaller size, the character wouldn’t need to eat as much. Those with the Reaper’s Due dlc will also get more money based on how prosperous the county you are in is). It is not mutually exclusive with temporary obesity, and will increase the amount of turns needed before the events detailing the larger sizes will fire. Females will have their current body shape flag remembered before turning (if you ever decide to go back to normal), and then you randomly assigned a different body shape (bottom heavy being the most likely, and no chance of it being breasts, use a potion if this is really desired).

There will, of course, be flavor events detailing the character adjusting to the new body (positive if the change was consensual, most likely unwanted if the character was cursed), the ease of falling into gluttony, the church getting upset (mildly, unless your character gives them a reason to be more aggressive) at your new form, some unique events for the different races, dealing with a larger pregnancy if your male partner isn’t an imp etc.

Now for how to get the form in the first place. Demons will be able to freely change back and forth whenever they wish. Half Demons can do it too, but they will have a chance of cursing themselves by accident and will need to lift it before they can turn back. Fallen angels can transform, but if they do they will be cursed 100% of the time, if they lift the curse though, they will lose the fallen angel status and get the demon trait. The rest of the races will need to be cursed to become an Imp, with one exception. If a character is born as a compatible race, and their mother was in imp form when they were born, the child upon reaching adulthood will be able to switch back and forth like the demon characters.

So how does one get cursed the normal way? First will be in a random encounter while hunting that I’m going to add. Probably going to be an event for the abandoned cabin. Second will be very rare encounter when going to the potion shop and leaving without buying anything (will still be player choice on this occasion). Third will be a decision for characters with the possessed trait, you can choose to expel the demon from yourself in a very crude ritual (remove the possessed trait), but you will be left cursed. Fourth will be if you own the monks and mystics dlc and a character in an evil cult of rank 3 or 4 decides to use their points on cursing someone (cult members can screw it up and curse themselves, or intentionally curse themselves too).

So how do you lift the curse? I’m thinking of adding another option when visiting the potion shop while as an imp, and try to get help from them. It’ll be free but have a low chance of success and a low potential for side effects. The other I’m thinking of is getting assistance from your religious head, a mystic, or a very capable realm priest. They will cost a lot of money (especially the religious head), but it will always work (if you are a fallen angel, the realm priest and head of faith won’t help if they are of an Abrahamic religion, but the mystic will if they aren’t either of those two things).

This is kind of a random idea I had, and I intend to flesh it out a bit more on the weight gain side before adding it, but I wanted to get the thoughts committed to text so I could look back at what I need to do. All of this will require that you have the full magic content turned on in the fatocracy settings, for those that don’t want it. Also as a side question, how is the sketch so far?

Hi Buizel Here

First of all, I thought that I would not see other races getting fat after I asked about it a long time ago, you fill me with a lot of intrigue with this report of mod xd, I already want to see how my demons who are in court will also get fat. :stuck_out_tongue:

Second about the sketch you did it well to be a fat imp, I think it looks very good in my opinion I notice a difference between the sketch here with some of your old drawings, keep it up  :relaxed:. Although the face reminds me a bit of Tristana from Legue of legends but I think this is because right now I’m tired of working and my vision gets a little strange when I’m like this.

third two questions:
1-. The answer to this question will surely be in a very distant future I think, but even so I would like to ask it :relaxed: . After finishing testing LF mod I decided to see how tentacled dreams mod was (good mod for lonely nights by the way ._. ) and I saw that a force feed event by tentacles was coming out, the point is, you will do more events or things in the future with tentacled dreams mod? :stuck_out_tongue:

2-. This is more of an idea that I had playing with tentacled dreams mod than a question, but, when a tentacled dreams event comes out, there are sounds of tentacles or girls doing … well, you know. and I thought it would be a good idea for fatocracy to also have its own sounds when an event appears, for example when your clothes are torn, some sound of clothes tearing, when you have a feast with your countess, sounds of a couple eating or a “burp” sound at the end of a fatocracy event, it would be interesting to see this, but I’m not a ck2 modder, so I wouldn’t know if it’s difficult or not , apart from it’s your mod, it’s something we all have to respect.

Anyway, I hope you are having a good time doing this mod and keep it up bro, because what you do is cool. :+1:

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:. The imp wasn’t based on anything specifically, but I may have made the markings on body a bit too similar to Midna without thinking.

For your first question I do intend to add more content for tentacled dreams, but it’s pretty low on the priority list. I don’t remember if I still need to tone down the rate at which the feeding event appears yet or not since I haven’t touched those files for so long.

For your second question, I hadn’t really thought about adding sound effects before. I’d have to think about it since the sound effects aren’t really my thing.

So I’m able to play the game, and the Mod shows up on the list of mods in the launcher. I click it and it is checked, so everything looks like it is enabled. But I’m not seeing the Fatocracy Options in the Intrigue Tab or seeing an event allowing me to choose my diet. Any ideas what I could be missing? I followed all of the instructions in the install directions.

EDIT: Ah I got it to work by uninstalling the game and reinstalling it again. Now to check it out this evening and have some fun!

I do have a question now that I’ve played through some. I enjoy the new traits, but most of the descriptions of events are just generic texts (i.e. saying “stuffind_desc” and the like). Is this intentional or am I missing something?

It’s still in alpha so a lot of things are placeholders

It’s what @jcjonesacp76 said. I tend to make the programming side of events first and then write the others in later. I’ve had a few volunteers help out with quite a lot of the text. I do really need to spend an update mostly writing the text, but it’s the part I struggle with the most at the moment.

Sounds good to me. No worries on it. There is a lot of potential here and it seems like a really good foundation. I think you have done a great job getting it to where it is. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

Hey, I love the mod so far. I’d be happy to fill out event text for you! I’ve written several stories for fun and rp before, and I’ve got a pretty good grasp on how CK2 event text is formatted and styled in general.

I’ve got some general programming experience as well but I’ve never worked with paradox games before, it looks like they use a custom scripting language? It doesn’t look too hard, I’m sure I could spend a day or two figuring out how to write the localization files if you’re interested. If you’re particular about how your code is written I could also just write the text blocks for you to implement. Feel free to DM or reply here!

Yo, would it be alright to read some of these stories? For research purposes, of course

Small update, I got some of @rngsusd’s localizations for a rare encounter while hunting with magic content turned on.

I purchased a new computer a few days ago, shouldn’t mean much for this project other than a slight hold up in production while I transfer files and test it out a bit.

and I finished my drawing. Here is the SFW version:

and here is the link for the version I intend to use for the mod (the only difference is the chest): Gluttoness Imp by failmuseum on DeviantArt

How is it?

Wonder if this mod works in multiplayer? Could make for an interesting game.
