Eh, it’s fine. The absence hasn’t been nearly long enough to warrant suspicion, let the man breathe. If it were 2 months of radio silence I’d get it but right now they may just be busy, or burnt out, or anything else.
if i were to take a guess it’s likely due to creating the update content and then putting it into the game and then lastly, making sure they are in the correct order & bug free before releasing it which would explain the last update
At this point at least he hasn’t specified or promised a specific release date for next update. Yeh still terrible with communication and progress updates but at least he’s not making false promises which gets people to support him on pateon and not receive content till months later.
Plus after the whole ai images and stuff there’s a lot to do in old content yet alone new content
I hope they’re alright tho, and that the update is near, Really like this game.
Making games is hard, especially balancing it against real life and when critically understaffed/funded compared to normal development. Please show patience for others.
well lets hope bobo is okay and nothing bad is going on
I never claimed it was easy, nor all fun and games that said nothing was wrong, inappropriate or more importantly rule breaking about what I wrote.
So nah, my stance remains the same. Absence to absence is all too common the fetish community.
It doesn’t matter if it was rule breaking still -rep for douchebaggery
Goes from one shitpost to the next, a story far too common in the forum posting business if you ask me
To be real though, most games here aren’t made for any real return. It may be important for those actively getting subscription-based income to communicate with backers, but that is a matter for those using such offsite services, not any old person on this site. If someone on patreon wants more regular updates, the best place to complain is there.
You’re not wrong. The place to know what’s going on is on patreon, especially since it’s against our community rules to ask for any of that here.
I think the issue for some patreons is it has been communicated multiple times over many months. I know I stopped my sub due to lack of information about the updates. When I had brought up my concerns over it, it felt like it was not important. I know all I wanted on patreon was once or twice a month with a “yeah, still working on it” would of been good enough for me. That and having updates being given through replies in comment sections of posts from month(s) before was an issue for me.
So, I would guess some of that frustration is just being vented here. Which is fine as long as it’s respectful and not people fishing for updates here.
I think a lot of you are biased by the fact that this game is so popular.
I saw game on this forum dying with much less comment about it than on this one.
Yes i’m a bit sad for the lack of communication but even if i pay him on the patreon i won’t complain as long as the game is not flaged as dead or is taking more than 1 year.
Maybe i’m the one biased idk.
Just like Krodmandoon, I also stopped my sub because of the lack of communication.
It really shouldn’t be too hard to have a small post every few weeks that just tells us what is going on.
Even if something IRL has taken up all your time and you didn’t get much time to work on the game you can still let your supporters know what is happening, I rather have a post that states that there hasn’t been much progress because of something then having radio silence.
But because of the lack of communication I felt a bit disappointed when the latest update suddenly launched with a complete change in artstyle to AI. I think talking about such changes with the community would at least give us ample opportunity to give feedback on these changes. Now it feels like I play no part in the development of the game.
I also want to make clear that I’m not disappointed about time between updates. I realize that making a game is taking a lot of time and effort. I just wanted to be kept up-to-date on development every few weeks.
Financial support can only go on for so long. You desperately continue to put your trust in complete strangers because they make something you enjoy. Once you break that trust, its very hard to get it back.
For me, I have absolutely no issue with free to play games that don’t get worked on or get cancelled if the dev decides they don’t have the time or the passion anymore. What I cannot stand is this trend that is happening way to much with games on here, or any fetish sites for that matter, are the ones that have content behind a paywall on Patreon that feel they don’t have to tell hundreds of paying supporters anything for weeks or even the entire month and expect that they wont get upset or stop monthly resubs. I’m actually curious as to why people continually drop 5, 10, or even 20 dollars a month on people that go quiet for months and think they care about your hard earned money? You can’t ignore your boss for months and think you’re going to still have the job and still get paid for it, so why is it okay to take money monthly from people who thought your game was worthy of financial support?
Again, this is something I’ve noticed for years and years now, and it just feels like whenever someone finally has enough they get labeled the toxic bad guy that is disrupting our peaceful community when in reality, all they’re doing is calling attention to an obvious mistake being made. I want these games to be completed just like the rest of you, but we gotta be better at holding people accountable and not blindly shielding them from fair and honest criticism.
100% agree. with you. This is happening with most games on here these days. Create a patreon, few promising updates then go Awol with hundreds of people losing money.
I understand mental health issues or life circumstances but my view is if money is involved, accountability is also.
I understand why people can’t bug creators every week asking for an update on here, but it’d be nice if say a moderator could pose the question after a certain amount of time has passed?
A method should be implemented here imo where if someone posts details of a game or a link and it’s not finished, a set amount of time will go past and a moderator contacts the creator and if no communication happens the topic gets locked.
This way posts don’t get necrod, and people won’t have to spam update questions as there’s either communication already or it’s locked.
Obviously they can request a topic to be unlocked but it’d say it comes with an update and more information
This is the type of discourse that I think has been long overdue. It’s not just one person voicing displeasure and five people jumping on them and running them off, now we have well respected and well mannered devs and regulars giving their opinions on topics we’ve all had issues with one way or another. I feel like this has been an issue that has always existed and the dam has finally burst after years of buildup.
I’m sure this isn’t the only time on this site that we’ve had multiple devs with Patreons that go MIA for months, but as I’ve looked at it, its becoming almost expected and okay with some that no matter how many months go by, the dev is always given the benefit of the doubt when they go silent. And nine times out of ten, I would say that its fair to give them a break, but the two most glaring examples of the unusual are this situation with Bobo, and the now seven month ghosting from Voca Labs. Every time the thread gets bumped to the top, they see a gain in subscribers who have no clue that they aren’t posting anymore. These are two Patreons that were at, or are still at 500 plus subscribers that were making a lot of money for a side hobby. To me, if you had the foresight to become a game dev and create a Patreon, you have to be held accountable and be rightly called out when you make a mistake.
I think the locked thread idea is a great start and it at least gets the ball rolling on how we can not only protect people from getting scammed from inactive devs, but I think it can help the devs themselves by giving them a general idea of the kind of actions that will be taken if they slip, so they can decide if they have the passion and the free time to create something we can all enjoy. And who knows, maybe it can be a game that starts as a hobby, and turns into a full time job. We’ve seen that more than once and I think its great that people find steady income on something they enjoy doing.
The game is free to play though? None of the game is locked behind a paywall. People are deciding, completely of their own volition, to stay subscribed to the Patreon even in lieu of updates. If the pace isn’t something you agree with then just unsubscribe.
I agree completely that better communication would be preferred but I just simply stay unsubbed until an update I want is available.
We’ve gotten a bit off topic from the original game thread itself. I think it’s fine to have an honest respectful conversations centered around this game or the developer as this is the correct thread for it.
It would be best take larger generalizations of things outside of this topic’s scope somewhere else.
If you look at the original post on the thread it says: ###December Update here###
This is not the latest version.

Mega PC:
I also have a page on itch now.
Itch link
Right now the latest verion of the game is available on my patreon.
Those links take you to 0.2. 0.3 was given out to people who were previously subscribed via DM, and current subscribers on Patreon. So yes, the current version is behind a paywall. I was given the game via DM so I wasn’t subscribed during his hiatus so I obviously don’t have any skin in the game with this current topic, but it still effects me in the sense that its a dev that I previously was subscribed to and may effect my desire to sub again.
@Krodmandoon. That’s fine in the sense that its become less about the game and more about the dev and the site as a whole. Moving it to a new thread is okay as long as its genuine feedback.
