First off, welcome.
And second, it is not. There’s only the old demo so far. The devs have confirmed that a new demo will be released sometime this year.

Not to get too off topic, but:
It’s alright, but kinda limited. If you’d like a sense of scale [SPOILERS, but no pictures] you can see a flowchart to the different ends here. The story is a bit flat, and some of choices necessary to navigate across the routes aren’t particularly intuitive. I spent an afternoon with it, but that’s about all it’s worth imo.
Yeah, I mostly watched playthroughs of the game and it was pretty okay. I wouldn’t have been as happy with my purchase as I was with SFOAS.
I think the Pirate’s Fate team is making another VN in a new setting, State of Flux, but I haven’t heard much about it in a while.
Pirate’s fate at $20 is a price point where I have to start comparing it to commercial games; these days, $20 can buy you a surprisingly large amount of gaming and as a rather short (albeit wide-branching) branching linear vn, there are limits to its content compared to games outside that genre. As a launch price I can understand it, but as the genre has limits to its appeal for me (compared to say a kickass point-and-click style adventure) that makes it a harder sell.
Thanks. I’ll consider watching a playthrough, and checking it out if I enjoy what I’ve seen there (not likely to watch it all before getting on with the other bit, if it does turn out to be of interest to me.
State of Flux is still in development, I’ve been speaking with the developer and he’s about to enter the art phase, soonish. Writing phase is over, leaving only the art and coding, which according to him is much more easy to do with Ren’Py.
So yeah, State of Flux is well underway, if all goes well it’ll be out before the end of the year.
Oh wow, that’s good to hear.
Hello, I just created an account today, but it’s been two days since I discovered this topic. You’re doing an awesome work, keep it up ! The game is great and what you’re planning looks even better !
Thanks, everyone! It’s been about two weeks since I last checked-in, and I wanted to let everyone know how we’re doing . Let’s get that chart in here:
Alex now has 10 weight portraits (8 new), and work should finish on the last one shortly. She’s been a substantial project, both due to her number of portraits (11), and her importance as a character. Players will seeing her a lot, and that extra scrutiny means every one of her weight stages has to balance rational, yet noticeable growth. Rea, Hannah, Grace, and Morgan all have somewhat specialized gains that make this easier, but all-rounder Alex is changing in all the places, all the time, and every single portrait must stand on its own, make sense from all angles (to stay on-model in CGs), and remain consistent with every stage before and after it. That isn’t easy.
However, like so many times before, FoxFire made it happen! I’ll never cease to be amazed at how much work he’s taken on and finished, but I’m so grateful to have him. Seriously, I don’t know how the stars aligned to find such a great team, and they all do their best to make sure I’m the slow poke .
Stuff takes time, but stuff still continues! Here’s a peek at Tier 7 Alex:
A bit of a change from the last screenshot! Hope to be back with more later
@TDG Someone is indeed the belly girl, but the real question is whose is biggest by the end!
@chilmistressfreia Seriously, FoxFire’s done a great job with the outfits. He’s got them actually outgrowing them each step (instead of a new outfit for each weight), and while it’s that much more work to do, it’s worth it!
@RandomRedditUser98 It’s hard to know this far out, but I’m thinking between $10-20. People mention The Pirate’s Fate (I’ve played it!), and Forks should be longer. This game started as a way to give back to the community, and I just want to break even
@gam3r, @SlothBear Thank you~!
@tiggertoo It’s been a lot of fun following The Weighting Game, and I’m glad you’ve had such great success with Patreon! It shows what amazing things can happen once you put talent, passion, and means together. Passion doesn’t pay the bills by itself, and between your game and The Pirate’s Fate, I’m really excited for the future of kink games with budgets!
@francobellinix New demo isn’t available yet, unfortunately, but I’m glad you liked it! I really need to update the first post with that info
@LeftieTakiji Thanks, I can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on everything we’ve been working on!
Edit: I’ll mention this again later, but I sympathize with anyone hesitant to buy a game like this on Steam for all their friends to see. Aside from Steam, I plan to sell Forks on itch.io as well. Hope that helps!
will the game be free or will it cost? And if so how much will it cost?
As @Tron mentioned in the comment above yours, they’re thinking about $10-$20, but it looks like we won’t know until their team gets closer to completion.
@anon92969498 And of course, the new demo will be free. Between that and continued development updates until release, you’ll know a lot more about the game by the time it goes on sale.
And I am okay with that.
Well from what I’m seeing, and given the fact that your selling on Itch.io, I’d say you’ve at least got my money
Ditto on that, though Steam is certainly my preferred platform. I’ve never used itch io, to be honest.
A few people have mentioned The Pirate’s Fate here… just thought I’d mention that it’s currently 40% off on Steam if anyone is on the fence about buying it.
@Tron I didn’t want to mention my own game on someone elses thread, but seeing as you mentioned it, I have been blown away by how much support I have had on Patreon. I honestly thought I’d get maybe ten people or so. As for a budget, I never had one I simply started buying assets for the images, suddenly realised I’d spent way more than I’d meant to and put the game on Patreon in an attempt to cover some of my costs
I initially thought I would make a big loss on my game, but as things stand, I’m going to break even at the very least, which is hugely encouraging, both for myself and for anyone else creating, or thinking of creating their own game. The future is indeed exciting!
I think the game should be on itch.io instead of Steam, because fat fetishism is definitely one fetish you should hide from your friends and family.
What I mean by this is Discord showing what game you’re playing.
You should be able to disable the “show what game you’re playing” with discord. And as for steam you can always set yourself on steam to appear offline - that way people wont see what games you’re playing
Steam has a habit of also ousting you by saying what you’ve bought to those in your friends list. Seemingly as a way of suggesting games.
Already had that happen to me once >>"
