Project F.A.T. v1.8.6 - Completion

Yeah the shaking can be done relatively easily actually. Will probably add that at some point.

Yup, hence the “change my NPC” goal. Monsters in the forest aren’t smart, they attack whatever they see, but anything human will change their tone as you get larger. Cause that does make sense.

Alright, think I’ve pretty comprehensively played through the new build. Even got to a handful of events I missed the first time, thanks in large part to the guide you included (I’d no clue the abandoned basement had a progression to it or that there was an option to eat both Daniella and the Maid at a stomach capacity obscenely higher than should ever be reached organically)!

The inclusion of unlimited corruption to match the unlimited purification of praying as well as the Ogre in the north woods made testing significantly easier, and Anna’s event is really neat now. Everything just overall feels a lot more polished, which makes the game’s future look pretty bright.
.

Before I go into anything else, I’d like to strongly recommend you re-enable the contest hall unless the last update introduced some kind of catastrophic bug, like save corruption or something. Buggy though it may be, it’s so intrinsically tied to a lot of the game’s content and characters that locking it out prematurely kills loads of questlines:

Tiana won’t befriend you at her home, Esmeralda and her sister’s quest can never even be initiated, ditto for Lady G, and Anna can never reach her final phase in any route. In the cases of the sisters and Lady G, eating them currently being locked behind their growth stages means they’re just filling up empty space in this build.

The void left by the hall’s absence is significant, and the game feels more incomplete than it did last patch despite the various additions you made. I think the guide was a fantastic inclusion and should be a sufficient patchwork solution for handling player confusion over flags and questlines. If they’re too impatient to read, I think it’s fair enough for them to lock themselves out of content.
.

Now onto minor bugs and the like:

  • The orc hunting quest is bugged in some way. Either the number you have to kill doesn’t match what’s on the job posting or it’s just flat-out uncompletable.
  • One of the generic forest NPCs frequently spawns in front of the monument in the west forest, but for whatever reason, he’s not interactable the same way all the others are. The moment you try to interact with him, he just abruptly vanishes without even starting up a text box.
  • You must have forgotten to change back some debug values, because the starting stats on all difficulties are now ludicrously high, enough to oneshot everything but the robot and queen and enough to bypass all other stat checks, like fishing and trying to swallow townspeople. I’ll admit, it made bugtesting significantly easier, but it cheapens a lot of content.
  • If you help Daniella eat the Maid, then talk to her afterwards, the Maid’s head flashes in and out of her sprite
  • When you do the corrupt Anna path, her engorged sprite from shortly after eating her husband isn’t properly flagged to disappear, so an uninteractable clone of her remains in the room next to the real her from that moment forward. As a tangent, it was a little sad not being able to complete the final stage of content for her mentioned in the guide since the contest hall is closed
  • Also in regards to Anna, I’m not sure exactly what caused it, but when I went to visit her on a whim on a late day, despite her being on the corrupt path and already fed with three forest people and her husband, the cutscene for her husband requesting that you bring her roast pigs occurred, and another clone of her suddenly appeared at the dinner table. Granted, this was after most of my playthrough, so I’d activated the debug room contest hall clear checks to see if I could initiate any of the quests locked behind competitions, so that may have broken something.
  • Following from that, for the most part it did nothing, but it DID allow me to befriend Tiana where I hadn’t been able to prior. This allowed me to discover that there is no way to consume her after eating her family like in the guide; I don’t know if that means there’s some weird flag order loophole I accidentally slipped through or if it hasn’t actually been implemented yet, but I can do nothing but chat with her about the three usual topics despite her maids and father stewing in my gut.
  • You can get infinite money by dancing at the club. There’s presumably supposed to be a check in place at dance level 4 that gives you a new skill and either caps the dancing wage or prevents you from doing it anymore, but as things are now, you never get the skill and the payment gets multiplied by 6 every subsequent time. I had literally hundreds of thousands of gold coming in.
    .

And finally, not a bug or anything, but if you get bored troubleshooting, a quick and easy way to make the game feel a lot more immersive would be to add more custom dialogue relating to your weight. People’s commentary stays static at stage 5 right now despite there being loads of stages beyond that, so the charm from seeing people watch you grow into this hulking behemoth is lost in the midgame.

Thanks so much again for all the love you put into this project. It’s really exciting seeing it come to life!

Well thats good at least. I’m glad Anna’s event is a bit more interesting and worked. That’s a welcome change.

Yeah, I am definitely aware of that. It did cause some major issues with triggers and such which meant I had to close it for the time being till I fixed it. If I can manage to sneak some time, I might be able to get a semi-working version up soon. Or at least a NPC that can activate the relevant switches for you in order to not gate the user.

Hmm that’s weird… I’ll have a look into it again. That’s just the generic Quest Hall one right?

I might have forgotten to actually give him dialogue options. I made the mistake of spreading them out quite a bit, high chance I missed a couple of them.

Weird. I didn’t change any of those at all… They were exactly the same as last time.

That’s mostly cause of the way the sprite is set-up. I want to re-do a lot of the large blob sizes. But I’m bad and slow at sprite making. So it’s very much a side project at this point.

Ah I must have forgotten to add a switch there, that’s an easy fix at least.
As for the Roast Pig one… I think that’s a case of me not adding a secondary switch check. But there’s a high chance that did break something. Hence the contest hall needing some edits.

Yeah, so eating Tiana is actually blocked until you beat her in the contest. But because the contest hall is unavailable, it switches that flag off completely. My main issue with it is that there’s a myriad of switches all over the place and I would like to collate and fix them so it’s easier to track and see where I’ve gone wrong.

Hmm… May just change that to a flat amount to be honest… That’s the second time that happened… Thought I fixed it…

It’s mostly static as the final check only goes up to 5 (for face portraits) so it checks size 1, 2, 3, 4 and anything >5. I’d like more checks in future. Which aren’t overly hard to do really. I’ll note it down to add for my NPC update.

Yeah the stats are a bit weird right now. Att, M.Def, Def, and Agi all look like they’re starting at 501 instead of 1. I modified a save file to try and set them all to 1 like it was in earlier versions and when I replaced the file it just added 1 to each of them. I managed to recover the original stats by setting them all to -500 in the save editor, so it looks like the origin for most of these stats got shifted 500 up or something.

Just out of curiosity, how do you edit or modify a save file? I know that probably using game maker itself, but I don’t know how to use it so if you used another tool what was its name?

I used saveeditonline.com

As far as I can tell it’s a safe site and it’s worked on every RPG Maker game I’ve tried it on.

OHHHHHH. I forgot to remove my “Debug Sword”

Head to weapons and un-equip it. That will reduce all stats back to normal.

Thanks! and quick questions is it normal that all stats are 0 except “MyHP” and “MyMP” when I upload my save? Is there any way to give items?

All right, so I’m just starting out on a fresh save file, and one thing I’ve noticed is that the step counter for stomach expansion still isn’t working properly. It’s supposed to start counting the 100 steps at the moment you become overfilled, but I’m practically certain that what it’s actually doing is cycling through the numbers 1-100 on repeat in the background, regardless of whether or not you’re overfilled. As a result, any time the counter is on 100 and you happen to be overfilled, you get a stomach expansion. It doesn’t matter if you became overfilled on Step 1, Step 90, or even Step 100(!)–you get a stomach expansion regardless. Thus, if you wait to get a stomach expansion and then stand still and overfill yourself again, you will be overfilled on Step 100, so the game will grant you another stomach expansion on the spot. Repeat ad nauseum until Lucia can fit the entirety of the town into her stomach several times over, if you so desire.

Hmm. That’s really weird… it should reset each time.
May have to tinker with it a bit more.
It seems to remember the steps while overfull, rather than resetting them properly.

Thanks for bringing it up.

Yeah, whoops, I forgot to mention that capacity bug. It’s how I got my capacity high enough to gulp Daniella and the Maid at the same time, and it still took a ludicrously long time even at that.

I’d recommend shrinking the requirement significantly if you expect people to ever reach it organically, because even abusing a state of overfullness throughout the entire game with small food items, you’re not even gonna be like halfway there by the time you’re doing endgame content. Though I suppose it is a sort of easter egg divorced from any critical content or questlines.

Its meant to be a bonus bit really. and for the most part, you’d expect to have a high capacity since both of them are rather large ladies.
but, i will keep a note to possibly drop it a bit more. just to make it a tad easier. or make over eating easier and up the values everywhere else :stuck_out_tongue:

I was the one that had that idea, kinda Project F.A.T v0.82 - #1017 by uwuowoonoawa if not my bad

1st off I’m gonna start with the good,

Those side quest you added are fun and interesting, it adds depth and replayability. I got a new computer and lost my save file so until there’s more story content I’m not replaying the whole game but I figured out how to speed through relatively which is why the glitches/issues I point out may not be actually be a thing. But Anna’s new thing was fun, the ending DOES work, I love that there are new monsters so new descriptions, like I read them, its funny knowing that an orge doesn’t taste good apparently. The rooms in the castle work so you can now get to the sewer, the mechanic you added with the advantage you get for facing the queen is interesting! It really does make the fight easier if you do the kitchen and maid in kitchen binge! And again loving the dialogue. Lastly my deviant ass tried to break your game so I got my eating capacity really high, got money easy and tried to eat the princess while she was still in the buffet and well your programming worked! After doing the insatiable 3+ times couldnt eat the buffet. so yay to you!

Now ofc I’ll spoil some glitches I’m sure ppl been using. One after you digest if yo have a bunch of food and keep feeding yourself your capacity goes up really high really fast. I’d appreciate if you kept that glitch for ppl that want to speedrun but you may not want it in the game.

  1. I STILL CANT EAT THE SMUG SUPERMARKET GUY WITH A GUN. FUNK THAT GUY lol, think he can beat me with a gun, now this could be because I didn’t really do missions, I just got her eating capacity to 500, and got her weight to around 2500, finished the mission level debug on guard level and eating contest and still she walks away nervously.

  2. With Anna there are 2 of her in the corruption route, there’s her when she ate the husband and slime and then a copy of her. Again it could be the speedrunning that broke the game, but there’s 2 of her in my playthrough

  3. In the blackjack game even if you break even you lose your money, I’m pretty sure if you break even you normally keep the money

And well love the dialogue, the size gain of our character and others, bigger is always better right? Anyway, love the inclusion of monsters, the more the merrier and pretty much telling ya what other people say, more random dialogue, more monsters and keep up the good work! Tho that said last… how do you actually get the harbor area too open?

  1. Yeah, that’s taking a bit of extra effort. For some reason it just isn’t playing nicely. Gonna try some different work around and hopefully they work. For now, just try not to abuse it if possible….

  2. Well that’s cause I didn’t fix him yet :stuck_out_tongue: he’s apart of the “fix all my shitty NPC’s” change that will happen. Eventually, depending on your size and corruption, scenes with specific characters (mostly farmer Bob and the supermarket clerk) you can eat them, feel bad for them, or run away.

  3. Yup, that got mentioned to me before. I just missed a switch to turn her off at that point. That’s an easy fix thankfully.

  4. Oh my god. I totally blanked on that. Yes, you are totally right. Although, call it a crooked casino :stuck_out_tongue: for now and it makes perfect sense right?

The harbour will be opened up soon. There’s nothing beyond that point really, so you aren’t missing anything.

I haven’t made it through all the content yet, but I started taking notes on bugs and typos again, and I’ve got a pretty good list here. I figure I may as well post what I’ve got before I forget.

I’m pretty sure the woman who cooks Fairy Wings missed the door when walking out of her house (i.e. she walked through the wall next to the door). This happened before I started taking notes, though, so I might be getting her confused with someone else.

A minor balance quibble: The stat check for voring the goblin in the slime village seems to be much lower than the stats you would actually need to defeat her in combat. Granted, I don’t know exactly which stats are being checked, so maybe this was just a result of my capacity being higher than it should have been because of the step counter bug.

Castle stuff:

  • You can walk over the wheelchair in the lab. I’m not sure if this is intentional; I’m just mentioning it because I thought it looked a bit odd.
  • The library doesn’t seem to have any music specified; it just keeps whatever music was playing in the previous screen (the sewers or the castle).
  • When you do the larder binge, you can briefly see a Lucia clone toward the top of the screen, behind her giant blob sprite as the screen fades to black.
  • If you lose to the queen more than once, the second time, instead of playing the lab cutscene again, the screen just stays black. (Thankfully, you can use the “I’m stuck!” skill to get out of this.)
  • Also, I find it slightly amusing that the queen still mocks your size even if you’ve reduced her to her minimum size so that she’s smaller than you. Another thing for the NPC update, I suppose?

Sewer stuff:

  • The chests in this area seem rather buggy. When I tried to interact with the one at the bottom, it opened without any message, and then it told me it was empty when I tried to interact with it again. The one at the top just straight-up disappeared when I tried to open it.
  • The stairs that are supposed to connect to the forest cave don’t work on the sewer side. You can enter from the forest side, but if you walk up them in the sewers, you just end up on top of the walls. (Incidentally, you can then use the walls as a shortcut to get to the stairs leading to the castle library.)

I found a few more thin Lucia portraits where they shouldn’t be:

  • When giving yogurt to Mary
  • At the locked front door of Tiana’s house
  • When about to binge on the castle larder
  • When eating the castle kitchen maids

And the boring stuff–typos:

  • Sewer rat vore: “Is eating something lives in the sewer really worth it?” (missing “that”)
  • Castle kitchen maid vore: “Swiflty you hoist up the unaware maid…”
  • After beating the queen (without going through all the Isabelle fights): “Now its your turn to deal with the consequences” (needs an apostrophe)
  • In the cutscenes after losing to the queen:
    • “What did the queen what us to do with this one again?”
    • “I REALLY don’t want to get one the Queen’s bad side…”
    • “As you lie there… conscious and unable to move… The doctor’s go about injecting you with all manner of chemicals…” (rogue apostrophe)
  • Castle computer database entry on Doctor Largo:
    • “Through his research and understand of biology, he was given the task by the King of creating an army of Super Soldiers…” (Typo, but to be honest, the sentence structure is a bit awkward too. It might help to reorder it along these lines: “The king saw his research and understanding of biology and gave him the task of creating an army of super soldiers…”)
    • “He fled after the only other subject to survive the initial infection died. Being captured later to begin work on the project once more.” (The second sentence doesn’t stand on its own; it could be merged with the previous one like this: “He fled after the only other subject to survive the initial infection died, but he was captured later and forced to begin working on the project once more.”)

Thank you! I’ll have those fixed up shortly. Thankfully nothing overly game breaking which is a welcome change.

How do u get the Red Slime btw I never understood how to get her.

So.
When you go to Anna’s house, she’ll have 3 options when you talk to her.
You need to select the top option for all the times you talk to her. Then you can buy the Red Slime off her husband for 1000 gold.

She has 3 branches based on her “inner” corruption. The red slime is only available on the branch where she stays pure. The others the red slime will meet an end.
