Some Bullshit - Stuffing Focused RPG Maker Game

They were under the effects. Pro would have absolutely not just stood there or stepped back when they first showed up. He is savvy enough to not keep his weakened party member just laying there surrounded by enemies. The first clue was him following the orders of EL for no reason.

Thank you, I figured, just felt kind of more unclear than it should be.

An interesting dilemma to fight against. Wonder who will be the first to utilize the power of ear plugs?

It was meant to be clear, but also not a strong impact yet. I expected people to put two and two together after the example which explains why Emmie is confused and mad. When the next scene is released it will probably be more clear. The cliff hanger makes it tougher.

You’re making me nervous, but I’m also super excited for this new update! Congrats on the release, looking forward to those new animations, sprites and art pieces too!

after I had the chance to return to the capital thanks to joblim I was going to review the new senna of clara but I came across the last sena released being (sadness, but also a boner), I don’t know if it’s a mistake or just not was done yet

and thanks for making such a fun game

I have not completed any replays from this new update. I’ll put them in the next one.

A fantastic update well worth the wait! (Or weight, however you wanna look at it haha)

One thing I wanted to note though, is with the new patch, Emmie’s pathing seems to have put her a space back during the boat buffet cutscene, causing the game to softlock then and there.

Another thing I noticed (may just be me and my quick reading) is that progressing through the final vendor’s dialogue in the Azh Rabot streets faster than Emmie’s sprite can reach can cause for some weird results, with the most notable being the duo disappearing once Emmie finally collides with them and pushes them onto the pillow. Doesn’t usually softlock here, but it’s possible.

Something similar also happens with Slime Pro and Emmie in the final room with the Joblin in the Djinn realm, but that could just be moving the cutscene faster than the characters can finish their animations. Again this’ll also cause the game to softlock.

Other than that, nothing really to report in terms of bugs. I really enjoyed the worldbuilding and content in this update and I’m looking forward to the next! Will be a shame once the adventure finally wraps up for the crew, but it was nice while it lasted!

In the next update possibly… haven’t finished the new stuff… those girls the Caliph has… are they going to be at Chuck’s place ever? Or some buffet

So what is happening is that you are progressing the scene so fast by holding enter that previous move commands are being overwritten. I’ll try and reduce the softlocks, but the game is not designed to go in super speed all the time.

It’s a common issue in many RPGMaker games, hence why many of them strongly dissuade you from using Page Down to fast-forward scenes. Be a little easy with the fast-forward on moving events, its very easy to get desyncs in many of these games. Speaking as someone that still needs to look into this issue more whenever I get to game dev’ing, I do wonder if pathfinding plugins and making sure there’s wait commands would help avoid such?

Oh, speaking of bugs, you forgot to set the passage settings properly on the windows in the Caliph’s estate. You can walk on the windows and ceiling tiles of the Fat Brat’s room.

Just some issues I have noticed while playing. The last one is probably a typo, message to massage

You can’t really avoid using fast forward, because even just tapping confirm over and over will eventually result in you accidentally holding the confirm button for 0.2 seconds instead of 0.1 seconds and that will count as a fast forward and can cause the error/bug/lock.

I’ve found, as I addressed back in may, that the best way to avoid this glitch is actually to make a left mouse click and then never let go. The error doesn’t appear to be caused ā€œduringā€ fast forward mode, but only when engaging or disengaging from it. In other words pressing the button or letting go of the button that would toggle fast forward is what causes the soft lock most of the time, whereas leaving it on 100% of the time doesn’t cause it.

As per my post here: Some Bullshit - Stuffing Focused RPG Maker Game - #1513 by namad of course if the bug would occur, and you’re avoiding the bug by never letting go of left click, the sprites will still glitch, it just won’t result in freezing the game.

Of course always fast forwarding misses the entire plot, so I usually only used this technique in sections where I’d already crashed 2or3or4 times playing normally (and thus already had a chance to read the plot many times).

I didnt see your post before you deleted it, but I build my scenes with wait commands in them. A tenth of a second fast forwarded here or there isnt the end of the world, most wait commands are over a second so it doesnt have an impact. But if we look at the pillow/meat stall scene pointed out, that has a full 4 second wait command. That means he is holding down fast forward for more then 7 seconds. That isnt just ā€œtappingā€.

I tested it quite heavily in .121

I’m referring to the game freezing, maybe you’re referring to an unfrozen soft-lock state? My solution to the freezing would actually contribute to causing soft locks without freezes, but since the game froze on me like 50+ times and soft locked on me 0 times… my solution despite being unintuitive is actually more effective.

I deleted my post because I realized you might not be talking about total screenlock freezes at all, but rather softlocks that allow continued gameplay. Which made my reply off the topic. (Not blaming you, this error effects all rpgmaker games I’ve played.)

You were the only person to ever have that bug and I could not replicate it at all. I have no idea why your version of the sleep over endlessly crashed while every other player’s did not. It sounds like you are talking about a full freeze, which I would 100% pin on your computer not being able to run longer events or something like that.

Interesting, I wonder if it really is just me. I’ve since learned, by encountering this bug in other games, that it’s purely a graphical freeze. Meaning if you can successfully play with your eyes shut (the screen doesn’t update whatsoever, but sometimes using audio queues I’ve been able to do this) and reach the save game menu and save the game, you can then close the program and load your save. (Continuing where you left off, continuing after the ā€œfreezeā€ occurred).

It’s pretty difficult to do this though in many circumstances.

LET’S FUCKING GOOOOOOOO! Man a LOT of games are updating around now!

Haha, admittedly i did end up speeding through the new content which would obviously cause some issues with the game. I’ll be more careful next time.

But the issue with the boat buffet keeps happening on my end. Emmie keeps stopping at the table even If I wait a couple seconds.

If someone in this thread could kindly go over the scene on their client to make sure it’s not just me then I’d appreciate it greatly.

Is this happening in the replay, or in the main storyline?
I can’t replicate it in the replay.

If it’s in the main storyline, I can still help you out. Please send me your save folder.
