With the spritesheet out is anyone making ripped/torn up suit sprites?
Honestly it just looks like she’s shifting her feet to me. Considering how much chunk is being added to her hips, it’s understandable.
I’m not sure if this is an alignment issue, the height and width of the sprite sheet increases every weight stage, so it’s going to appear like it’s drifting in an image editing software.
hey, long time lurker
was wondering if you were ever planning on making it Mac compatible?
I’ll look into it, but I think it’ll be the same issue as android where I would need to upgrade my liscence.
My first impressions, I really enjoy this little game, it uses it’s weight gain mechanics in a fun way that feels different from just ‘Eat a whole ton, that’s the game!’
I also find it funny that when Sen makes the player bigger than their total max capacity, the game just resets but the player sprite size is doubled, tripled, and so on. Especially after they point out that you’re too big to fit in the ship after a couple of cycles.
One point of criticism I would like to make though is how the game spawns the slime enemies, from the endpoints of the map. This means that the ideal strategy is to just place walls at the very ends and place a few turrets behind them, then you only have to occasionally check on them to restore their energy. I feel like a bit more variety in how and where the enemies spawn would go a long way in making each playthrough feel fresh, which is very important for a short, replayable game like this.
Talks of modding makes me wonder how hard it would be to add some kind of custom map support? The game is essentially 1D, one object per tile, so if there’s some way Game Maker Studio allows you to read something like the letters of a text file or the color of pixels from an image it could be pretty easy to make maps. Like if the text file approach were to work it’d be as simple as writing:
GWXXXXCXXXVXXXXSXXXXCXXXVXVXXWG
And bam each of those letters corresponds to a different tile type, map designed and the game handles the rest haha.
I’ve mentioned it before and I still agree with feelings like this, I “solved” the slimes on basically my first playthrough as it mostly comes down to one wall and 2-3 turrets on either side while making sure to upgrade them. Something like little cave openings that the slimes can spawn from mid-map and larger maps to justify these spawn locations would add a lot as you could put crystals further out that the player would need to build small bases around to defend if they want to get off the planet faster.
I still also feel some kind of simple rocky looking tile you can’t build on would help make the player need to think about where they build a little more.
anyone think the cliffs on the side could use some tunnels. small ones so the slimes arn’t just phasing through the stone
That would be a nice aesthetic addition.
makes sense. Can always find some sort of virtual machine to do it on.
found a bug, I went into settings and selected fullscreen. when I finshed playing I closed the game. When I opened the game again, the game window became just the minimise and close buttons, the screen itself did not apear. The game needs a fullscreen hotkey.
small idea, why not use the power you have save up to over charge the miners to get more out of them
I started a new game after downloading the newest version, but it seems like there’s a bug in which the alien girl starts of tall and making stomping noises as if it’s a prestige file.
You can in a way. you can stand over a crystal miner and hold down the up button to use power and have the amount of crystals you gain increase faster.
Could someone post screenshots of the menu and settings as I’ve somehow permanently minimised the screen, but i can still use the arrow keys to select stuff
I assume this is what you needed?
These are the screens from the in-game pause menu. The launch menu has ‘New Game’, then ‘Load Game’, then ‘Settings’.
Keep in mind that options have to be selected with ‘Space’ or ‘Enter’ in order to interact with them
after playing the game for a while I’ve reach the point where I’m towering over the walls so I had the dumb idea of why not be the ship at this size
thanks for posting the image
With this new infinite prestiging system, does this mean there are even more sizes that can be reached? Or is it just what’s available at prestige one and it’s just all the other elements getting smaller as the player character gets taller?
