Sorry if I’m missing something obvious, but where exactly do I obtain the lard shake gun.lard launcher? The OP says that it can be bought from “the shop”, but which shop is this referring to?
ModFatties shop, I guess. Not the BF one.
Slightly confused on what has been included in the main mod. I know that there was an expanding clothes addon, a granular weight addon, and an addon that gives npc enemies fattening weapons. I’ve read that all of these have been included into the main mod to some extent. Though, I don’t know to what extent.
The latter two addons are still being updated. What parts have been implemented in the main mod, and what hasn’t?
Also, have all vanilla outfits been edited to support weight gain?
Technically, the only thing actually integrated into the main mod was the expanding clothes addon, the other stuff (granular weights and npc with fattening weapons) are still very much their own thing. With regards to the later of those two aforementioned addons, only the boss from the first story mission and the moontants have ways to actually fatten you in the base mod – no npcs if I can recall correctly.
So that being said, I wouldn’t say much has actually been implemented from the other mods into the main mod, other than the clothing function and perhaps some smaller stuff or something. Of course, if you want to see everything added specifically to this mod, then you can always unpack the mod and poke through the files a bit!
For outfits though, there’s a shop you can craft called “Scarlett’s Used Clothes” in the crafting station; in that shop is a comprehensive list of clothing that have at least one size or more created for them. So while certainly not every outfit has been edited to support weight, you still get a good selection out of the ones in that shop!
It’s in the BF shop (the one you obtain in the crafting window when you press C)
you have to scroll down a bit to see it
Okay so I found some weird problem in the character creation screen. When I move my mouse over to a black square a CTD occurs. In the starbound txt file I see this, could it mean something? [Error] Application: exception thrown, shutting down: (StarException) Unknown species kind ‘fatnovakid’.
I have no idea where you read anything to suggest granular or the modfatties npc enemies were added to the mod. When that is not at all the case. The expanded clothes addon was added long ago and as of right now, just that. Adding Granular would throw any hope for future updates out the window as trying to bring balance to every single new weight that addon adds would be a nightmare for me at my current pace.
And modfatties, I just do not agree with its method of making every single enemy always have fattening weapons that just flood rooms in a manner of seconds, and remove any threat as their weapons deal no damage. In that part, I do want to do my own take on npc enemies using fattening weapons sometime in the near future.
And in regards to the vanilla outfits. No, not every close at the moment. Besides there’s quite a lot of armor that can’t support weight gain. Any outfit that shows skin, is out of the question and won’t be able to support the weight gain system in a traditional sense.
This has already been stated a couple of times. As of now, just ignore that spot. It was an oversight when removing the fattynovakid race. But since it is completely avoidable, it’s not much of a priority and will be removed in the next update. If however you feel you are incapable of not having your cursor hover over that spot. Go here-
oooooh okay! I was afraid it was something game breaking, good thing its not! :3
Well depending on the mods you’re running it might not be such a small thing. For example I like to run the NpcSpawner+ mod that allows you to fully customize NPCs (Race, NPC type, clothing, personality, etc.) Problem is that with the fattynovakid race being seen as invalid, it bugs out the race section of the NPC spawner. What this means is that you are unable to change the race of the NPC without destroying and replacing the tenant deed numerous times until you get the one race you are going for. Overall it’s just a massive hassle and pain in the rear. With the fixed one though, the race tab now work and you can easily swap the NPC races without having to do the annoying destroy/reeplace thing over and over again. On its own it can be easily ignored, but with mods like that it can almost completely cripple them. Thanks a ton for the fix, it makes life so much easier!
Ah, I think I either misread or misinterpreted some old posts.
Out of curiosity, why are bare-skin outfits impossible to implement?
becuase the Fat is a Vanity armor. so any armor that meant to show skin of the player won’t work. or at least thats my thought
There is no way to have a second layer of anything. Bare skin armor requires sprites of the body of the race using them to exist on the armor itself. But to do that, currently, is to make copies of an armor that become unique to itself, that can’t be dyed without ruining everything. Over six copies of the same armor set for each stage of weight, that wouldn’t be recognized as the armor set it’s based on. So to put it simply.
Armors that show skin to be made compatible with weight gain must,
-Have identical copies tailored for every race, for every weight stage
-Cannot be dyeable
-Ends up not being recognized as part of the armor set it’s originally based on
Alright, I’m still new to the game, so I didn’t even realize you could dye clothes.
As a way around this, could you add tights or a bodysuit to the fattened versions? So, the skin is simply covered up.
