I’m amazed by the amount of games! I’ve played some of them, but to try and figure out what to play next, I’d love to hear which games people consider their favorites art-wise. I’m happy to hear pitches from developers themselves, so there’s no shame in listing something of yours as a favorite.
Excluding Daz/VAM assets, Feed My Affection by Tonbelly comes to mind.
And depending on your stance on genai I like the visuals in the game I’m working on Weightcraft Chronicles: New Dawn. Unlike most games that use genai visuals I’m not using the near ubiquitous anime girl style.
Personally not a huge lover of AI art and I don’t play Daz3d games.
Fatgeria, Indulgences, Gorge valley, feeder fantasy, Lysithea’s Sweet Escapes Redux has some awesome sprite art. Anything with art done by Bun (Happy Heifer cafe and the upcoming Wasteline) Failmuseum’s games has some great weight gain sequences.
I feel like chubway and Spacethumper 2 really take the cake for me. Chubberdy’s got the sauce.
Best pixel art is probably tied between maxdigital and bucklerparry for, respectively, Maya’s Big Adventure and Fate Against Truth, both games you can find here if you search those titles.
the two mentioning my existance makes me very happy
bless u
BLESS. U…..
presonally i also love Failmuseums stuff.
Dandy’s Gorge Valley is also a feast for the eyes!
And i loved the first person perspective of Dont Fear The Jester.
Donuts for deer teeth too !!! i likey..
Anything by burgerkurger always hits
Anything by Lachevite
The original Feeling the Weight of It All sprites are my favorite despite the project’s massive set-backs.
Next would be the NEET Roadtrip sprites. I genuinely wish the author would expand on that game, but I’ve resigned myself to the fact that most jam games never go beyond the “jam + bugfixes” life-cycle.
Beyond that, Indulences has some good backgrounds. The sprites are cool too, but their clothes don’t make sense to me half the time.
I could mention more great (possibly better?) art, but then they wouldn’t be my favourite.
