Wiki, Canceling this Year's Gain Jam, and Delay to Feed Back Post Response

Hello everyone! I wanted to do a quick update as due to a big deadline for a project at my day job and some personal things including being in the middle of moving to a new place Im going to have to go dark for most of the remainder of June here. Ill still be around a bit but my availability will be very unstable so @AlexKay and @Krodmandoon will be handling most of everything for the rest of this month. If you need anything please reach out to them.

Delays to our Response to the Recent Feedback Post

I was hoping to get at least get a post out detailing how I was planning to respond to the points made in the recent feedback post, but unfortunately life had different plans. I got pulled into a data migration that ate a few of my weekends and have been working overtime to fix bad data that got in during the process. So I was not able to dedicate as much time as I wanted to reviewing the post.

Instead of trying to rush something out I want to take the time needed to look it all over in detail. I hope you all will understand and forgive this delay.

Canceling this Year’s Gain Jam

The admin team and I spent a lot of time discussing this and it was a hard choice, but we decided to cancel this years gain jam.

Im still dealing with getting some legal stuff sorted out due to Kilifs departure last year and I want to make sure we address the issues that have been raised in the feedback post properly; so I think us also trying to organize the gain jam on top of all that is just going to be a bad idea. I want to try to use the rest of this year to focuses exclusively on addressing the immediate issues and getting what I need to get done done so we can hopefully come out swinging next year.

I know a lot of people here really look forward to the jam so I do feel bad about canceling it, but I do think focusing down the tasks at hand is going to be for the best.

Wiki is Now Open!

Finally, we shadow dropped the wiki mid last month. We where planning on announcing it a bit sooner but we didn’t want to take any focus away from the feedback posts so chose to delay it. As of right now though the /community/ section is fully open to any users who wish to contribute.

We had to setup an official wiki because the A user maintained list of games topic ended up hitting its character limit some time last year I believe, so it could not be modified any further. Along with that I wanted to provide a place where info on games, tutorials, and other resources could be better documented and (hopefully) easier to find then what can be done here on the forum.

Currently the wiki is split into 3 sections:

  1. Games - A list of both user created games and general games with fetish elements
  2. Mods - A section for any mods in the community
  3. Tutorials & Resources - A section for any community contributed tutorials or resources around game dev

Also as a quick note its common for users to get an unauthorized error when trying to make a page. This is usually because all community pages and resources need to be under the \community\ path so make sure what you are trying to make is under that path.

I would also like to thank @Krodmandoon, @PlumpGirlLover, @PeachClamNine, @Niwatori401, and @UrgUrgUrg for helping us test and providing us feedback on the wiki!

Also, a special shout out to @Izzyao for the work they have been doing so far to migrate the information in the A user maintained list of games over to the wiki!

it’s sad that Gain Jam is cancelled this year (I was looking forward to it a little more, as I wanted to participate and try my limited powers), but considering your common sense and that you have so many problems, I am ready to accept it and wish you good luck in solving the problems you are mired in

Thank you for the shoutout! just wanting to help create a space where we can share and enjoy these games a little more organized, and felt like I could make a good effort on giving it some more shape.

And best of luck on everything that is happening, especially behind the scenes!

Would love to see this place shine again

No chance for a mini jam, like the one done two years ago? If not, that’s ok, but I think even a mini one with no judging would still be fun.
